Tenza Emtade mclaren just got a lawsuit and had to issue a recall because they’ve a faulty fueling system. There is a platform under the fuel tank which usually catches fire on these cars. Mclaren doesn’t care about their customers, took a lawsuit for them to even admit the problem.
Tenza Emtade that just isn’t true my friend. Lamborghini huracans nowadays do upwards of 50,000 miles. Yes, the aventador had its issues but even that has been resolved. Mclarens are awesome performance cars but you’ve just got to face the fact that they aren’t reliable and that McLaren as a company doesn’t care about their customers
Not sure why everyone seems so determined to hate this car, just because of the figures. It's a beautiful car with unique design, something you'll never see anywhere else.
When this car was first released, I was expecting a modern version of a Mclaren F1, so at first I was a bit disappointed by the shape. But once I put that aside, and started seeing the Speedtail for what it is, I saw that this machine was something uniquely special. The styling and purpose grew on me every day and now I can't stop liking it. Of course then Gordon Murray announced the T50 so it was a double win. I just wish Mclaren would use the same dark orange color for their test car as that of their 765 LT.

It doesn't matter who achieved when, what matters is that they achieved what they wanted and that's what fascinate the engineers to work hard everyday.
I really think Mclaren should build a version of this car that can break 300 mph. I know that’s not really in the plan for established reasons, but Mclaren has always been ones to push the limits, and I think they can and should go where few have gone.
I 10000% agree. I think this is a road version... they could ditch the auto door mechanisms, have the side cameras collapsed, removed anything else that's absolutely not necessary AND add more power and really see what this designs limit truly is. I think 300 is not out of the question.
@@agegonzo39i think the car wouldnt have enough downforce to stay on the ground at that speed. remember that theres a reason rear wings exist and its not just cosmethics. mercedes commited that mistake with their le mans race car in the past, albeit yes, it was more than just a lack of downforce, there were other car features and the circunstances of the track itself that caused it but still. the speedtail would likely try to take off when reaching near the 300MPH unless they were to add some drag, which then it wouldnt be able to get to that speed because of it.

@CookieMountain yes but cameras and all that new technological features can be used everyday in almost any place. To achieve 300 mph you need to get to the special tracks or airports, it requires special preparation and you wouldn't do that everyday
Braking reacords is not easy thing to do and there is nothing “everyday” in it, look at all the hyper cars, advertising 250mph, because can’t get to 300mph, or some acceleration bullshit. Bugatti made the whole industry joke, compared to them.

I see the point when people compare the original Veyron record with this car but you have to keep in mind both are similar only in speed and not in the way they achieved it. The Veyron will always be a symbol of power, elegance and automotive engineering for what it did by sheer force. A huge and heavy W16 engine in all it's glory. 1000hp even for today's standards is over the top. On the contrary the Speedtail is a work of art using complex aerodynamics and technology achieving the power of the W16 with just V8. Yeah that's literally half the engine. And using electronic subsystems for additional torque and power still is =~500 kg lighter that the Veyron while staying on the ground with that speed. Automotive engineering is huge and there is always a place for awesome cars like these and no need for comparisons. Kudos to McLaren and Bugatti for settings standards for years and years to come
McLaren doesn't care about breaking the top speed record. They aren't trying to. That's why the Speedtail is a hybrid. The electric motors limit the top speed, and the engineers very well know that.

The tail is made so that the vortex of air that comes of the back of the car does not increase the amount of drag, much like the shape of a water drop, the most aerodynamic shape that physics is accustomed to.

Honestly I found this masterpiece looks stunning and the aerodynamics are one of it's kind! A big powerful engine (W16) is not everything. Venom GT has proven it once, I feel McLaren Speedtail will do that again. The central driving position reminds me of the Legendary McLaren F1..

If you look at the speedometer on 1:37 it can definitely go quite a bit faster than 250mph

the back is very diferent from the 650s. the overall design bears a closer resemblance to the 720s, but it is remarkably diferent in many parts.
