LOL I was tearing my hairout trying to transfer old 4 track cassette tracks onto the computer, they would always come out at slightly different lengths. After hearing some of this steve reich stuff, it doesnt seem like a problem any more, I like the random and unexpected any way. i saw a good video of Prince fatty on dub technique, he is a big fan of speeding or slowing in and out of time or phase. I like how Reich's is entirely what it is, doesnt depend on subjective or pretentious enlightenment ideals of what "good" and "quality"is represented by.... Try this for an experience-open several steve reich pendulum videos in seperate tabs and run them simultaneously, even more far out.
thats cool :D but what about keeping the pitch and then just shortening the audio clip by a few notches.. couldn't you get the same result without detuning?
I'll never look back after this.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Love Clapping on the same album.
very clear!! other tutorials were using gears that I don't have so this made it simpler to grasp! thank you
this could be used as a sick production effect, i'll try it thanks a lot!!
Super cool . thank you!
Reminds me of the Orbital track. Has someone already make this comparison?
Which one?
