- 40tude supporter Jason Bacon allows the camera to follow him as he undergoes a CT Colonography screen for colon cancer. Please be encouraged by Jason’s experience and do go ahead and arrange your own colon cancer screening. For people in their mid-40s or over, it is recommended that you have one of these procedures every 5-7 years. Don’t delay, get screened today.

im due to have one of these for something, i'm actually more worried about the pre scan toilet issues more than the scan (which i note was something not mentioned in this video!)
This has made me feel a bit better about my CT scan tomorrow 21.2.22 on my colon/tummy....fingers crossed....🤞🤞
How was it? I have mine tomorrow I’m just worried about the embarrassing part because of all the air they put into your intestine.
Does the air being pumped in the rectum hurt? I know they say "uncomfortable". How uncomfortable? Likd diarrhea cramps in the whole stomach? I have had two babies as well so i have been through extreme pain. Would it be comparable to contractions or period cramps?
I had mine today, no problems. They gave an injection of buscopan to relax the bowel which lasts about 20 minutes. I couldn’t feel the air going in at all. First pass through the scanner was fine. Then I had to roll over onto my stomach. 2nd pass was uncomfortable with the air, I felt as though I wanted to expel it out. However the whole process was quick and much easier than I was expecting. Now I just have to wait for my results
@@k90nz93 good to know thanks
Having mine done on tuesday next week im worried about the contrast and my bum hole its so sore at present dont want to have the pipe pt in place
How was it?
I just had it done today, about 2 hours ago. Ughhhhh that was sooo hella uncomfortable. Thank God it just happened so quickly.
Also, I'm just 18 years old :(
@@angrybird5699 how uncomfortable from 1-10? I'm going to have one.. I have had bad period cramps and two labors. Hoping I can handle it. Is it quick just like two quick pictures ? I read that your in and out within 10 minutes
@@ashleighflood6262 Well, if you had labors then I would give it 1 on a scale of 1-10 :)
I was uncomfortable just because I was soo young.
Don't worry about it, I hope that it will be easy for you :)
@@ashleighflood6262 and yeah mine was within 5 mins.
@@angrybird5699 yeah hoping it's easy compared to labor 🙏 thank you!
Cool
How much radiation is a patient exposed to during a CT colonography screening?
I am due to have one of these after a failed colonoscopy on Tuesday I’m absolutely terrified about the tube going in and don’t want to be sedated
Why did your colonoscopy fail??
And why don't you want to be sedated?
@@mikekaraoke Hi Mate I was in agony as it went round the bends of my intestines and I’m so frightened of sedation as I don’t like the feeling of feeling drunk stupid as it sounds I know and I profusely apologise to you.
@@shaunogorman4644 Really-when I sedated(local) I did feel such a sharp turn when he had to twist the camera the other way and had a spasm for about 20 seconds then was alright after that!
Why apologise to me? lol
Also with the Colonography you don't need sedation anyway!
Where you from Shaun?
@@mikekaraoke Birmingham originally but now live in Somerset you ?
@@shaunogorman4644 Ah good old Birmingham-was last there last summer when went to Cadbury World. etc
I have been to Somerset but not for years-was only on TV other day on Atiques Roadshow-I'm in Kent between Dartford/Bexleyheath way. You ever been to Kent??
Do yo uthink you will ever move back to Birmingham??
So yeah go and have Colonography done-as you don't need sedation as it is wway less invasive!
Not very accurate. Simulation rather than seen.
Asew
May be amuch better way of beingsure
A Colonoscopy is a lot worse you got to drink pints of this liquid shit which you think you are going to shit yourself and nothing comes out!
+ I know people have different pain thresholds-I had also had local anesthesia as well and felt a sharp twinge when it went round the other bend of my Colon!
So sad
If i am a non smoker a colon cancer is more likely to kill me?😂
