Silent actually added a cheat for that along with a couple of new ones, enhancement wise
it should be possible via GameShark code because draw distance is a variable in the memory
There is a code for draw distance, there's also one for the LOD.
The fact that GT2 has better turbo spool than FH5 is hilarious. Also the nostalgia

I love Forza titles but none sound like a fully built car does on here.... Just let your car idle and turn up the volume sometime
@@AlbertRei3424 Lifelong Gran Turismo fan here. Forza had better sounds than GT for quite awhile before they started going backwards starting with FM7.
I miss the huge variety of cars in Gran Turismo 2. The Toyota Starlet, the Mark II Tourer V, the TRD 2000GT and 3000GT, the R33 GTS25-t, the Mine's R33 GT-R... The Plymouth Roadrunner that they couldn't call a Roadrunner...
And you could add a turbocharger to a non-turbo Supra!
the car line up in this game is insane
GT2 and GT4 are my favorite games. I miss the descriptions for the vehicles in GT4

The menus, and literature to read about cars all while having the iconic music playing in the background brings up feelings that most, if not any other video game has done for me. Im more so a Forza guy today, but Gran Turismo 2 is what helped me get deeper into cars.
I actually did not know the car models are swapped for low fidelity generic ones when they are distant from the camera.
That's an amazing illusion that seemingly works really well at low resolution on CRTs.

Greatest Car Game Made EVER.
i was 13 when my parents bought me the ps1, i always liked cars, so i get impressed since first contact with gt1, also colin mcrae 1.
But after gt1 and gt2 days, moving to pc games in early 00s, i never get caught by other sim racers, or simcades.
So i guess that racing games are not for me, cos i have never get so much fun with other "simulators"than with gt1 and 2. Gt4 is also good on another level
But imagine GT2 with multiplayer, i think it could be an easy port for sony.
Fk this brings bk memories of my teen years me and the bros betting our smokes on racers good days

The car variety in this game is still unmatched by anything else. Filled with lesser known brands, limited edition tuners, racing modifications, all kinds of cars.
@@RowdyGT exactly, it's probably the most diverse car roster ever, it has basically anything from that time period, and that's something that really attracts me about it
emulators make so many games way more accessible on any platform.

Hey man, you should check out Silent's new update for GT2.. Adds alot of enhancement cheats and updates existing ones ie Increased draw distance, full detailed Ai etc. Making the game look so much better

at this point though it makes me wonder why play gt2 at all and not just gt3, doesn't make much sense
You should turn up the CD-ROM seek and read speed up to instant/10x in duckstation console settings. (Literally makes the menus load lightning fast it's great, there's no drawbacks)

When I found out that Mine was pronounced "me-nay" and not "mine," my mind was blown.
I wonder if that's the Japanese name of a person or they forgot to put that thing on top of the letter "e"
I think it's "Mee-nay" if it's a person's name, but if you watch the Japanese guys in the Best Motoring videos, they actually pronounce this garage "mines".

Kinda sucks you cant tweak these official track cars like on the normal ones
Like this Mines R33 can only get you close to 690hp while the standard one can go at 750hp somehow that Nismo 400R allows you to go 800hp
You can build any car any way u want in this game....
Amazing graphics for a 1999 game
Seeing how GT franchise goes down chasing the current trends ( which is bad trends) and forgets major part of the great history that early GT games have :( I really want most of the 90s 2000s race cars back in GT7 😔😔 i hate online stuff and i never joined any lobby since 2017 .. Gran turismo is not esport crap 😡😡 if you want that go to ACC or iRacing 🤢Gran turismo has pretty lost its identity especially in the race cars scene
