Awesome simply awesome . Real fiery and fantastic band. Heard Snowfall on Judgement Day and The Fullness of Time. Really amazing . Thanks Pete and George 🤘🔥🤘
I listened to some Redemption songs, and I liked them alot. 'Walls' live was great. I like them and will add them to my new playlist for sure. Thanks Pete and George.
I know Redemption has been mentioned on SOT before, and I may have heard a track or two. Now I have George and Pete number 1 picks to jump in and discover another band, Thanks guys!
One of the best bands of the last 20 years period. Not just progressive metal. Agree with Pete on the number 1. Snowfall on Judgement Day is phenomenal. Black and White World is one of my favourite songs of all time.
GREAT SHOW! 7 / Debut 6 / This Mortal Coil 5 / Long Night's Journey 4 / Origins Of Ruin 3 / The Art of Loss 2 / Snowfall On Judgment Day 1 / Fullness Of Time
Great show! I only ever bought The Origins of Ruin (based on the depressed guy on the cover)... & you guys didn't have to say much for me to go out & find/grab more of their stuff for my collection. How about a Glenn Hughes album ranking sometime?.... Ever hear of a band called Fanny? All-female group that pre-dates the Runaways... think they even broke up before the Runaways really got started. Please check them out if you haven't.
7. This Mortal Coil 6. Long Nights Journey into Day 5. The At of Loss 4. Snowfall on Judgement Day 3. The Origins of Ruin 2. ST-Redemption 1. The Fullness of Time The ST is awesome! Rick Mythiasin has a great voice.
Saw them at progpower when they did their 1st show was Tom. It was a fantastic performance and having Ray and Chris Poland make guest appearances during the set was a treat.
Love them though I own only 'The Art of Loss' on vinyl! Massive fan of Ray Alder, and the guitar work by Simone Mularoni (DGM) and Marty Friedman (among other guest musicians)there was amazing!
Great reviews! Been a Redemption fan for awhile now. Not a fan of the latest, yet. First heard of them with Snowfall. Love Walls! For me can't rank them yet. But I would say that Fullnes and Origins would be at the top...for sure!
Yea definitely good albums. Like Ray Alder's vocals and well liked from me from his Fates Warning stuff as well. So he and artists on these albums bring a super listening experience. Thanks Pete and George.
Vanden Plas - awesome!! Stone Roses Edge is one of my favorite songs. If Pagan's Mind is ever in the works, I will lose my mind (paganly)!! Whether it's ranking the albums or top ten songs. Great episode here - really enjoyed it!
I am with George here: I absolutely love The Art Of Loss from top to bottom. That was definitely my album of the year when it came out. In the Redemption catalog it is only rivaled by The Fullness Of Time as my favorite - mostly due to Sapphire, one of the best prog metal songs ever. So my list would probably look like this: 1) The Art Of Loss 2) The Fullness Of Time 3) The Origin Of Ruins 4) Snowfall On Judgement Day 5) Redemption 6) This Mortal Coil 7) Long Night's Journey Into Day
I absolutely enjoy Redemption, so much so I've made a drum cover of the 22 minute epic "At Day's End" 🤘🏻 - I like Redemption with Ray Alder better, not that the new guy isn't great but.... Alder is just perfect for this band. Also did a cover of "Focus" from mortal coil. Very challenging.
Pete. I beg you please, to check out the new Airbridge album, Memories Of Water, which can be found on Bandcamp. This band deserve much more attention. Bit of the Canterbury sound, early Genesis, Gentle Giant and Van Der Graaf, psychedelia with wonderful instrumentation and arrangements. Haven't heard anything quite so "Pastoral & English" in many years.
Just played all Redemption this week and agree it is hard to rank as no bad or even average albums here. Still managed a ranking so here it goes: 7 Long Night's Journey Into Day 6 The Art of Loss 5 Redemption 4 The Origins of Ruin 3 This Mortal Coil 2 Snowfall on Judgement Day 1 The Fullness of Time
Cool band. I've been following them since their second album. 1. This mortal coil 2. The fullness of time 3. Snowfall on judgement day 4. The art of loss 5. The origins of ruin 6. Long night's journey... 7. Redemption
1) Redemption 2) The Origins of Ruin 3) Snowfall on Judgment Day 4) The Fullness of Time 5) This Mortal Coil 6) Long Night’s Journey Into Day 7) The Art of Loss
I don’t feel bad about not knowing them im a passing prog fan occasional maybe ,isn’t one the points of the channel to introduce bands you might not have heard of?anyway I listened to samples of songs from a few albums and im really impressed its my type of prog that i love heavy guitars and awesome keyboards.the one without the main guitarist is really good too all those ex megadeth members and john bush im surprised i never heard something about it.so pete more money im gonna part with 😉 i have to buy everything im a completist 🤘🏻👍🏻
Now, forgive me if I'm wrong Peter but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't know that they were promoting Ray Alder and guitarist Bernie Versailles on The Origins Of Ruin if you'd removed that sticker! Keep that sticker kids, you never know when you might need it!
Redemption is an anomaly for me. Ray Alder is possibly my all time favorite singer and I absolutely cherish every single note that Fates Warning has ever played. But, I cant stand Redemption. On paper I should love them, but they rank high on my most loathed bands list...And I love progressive metal and I love Ray Alder (in Fates Warning and Engine)
Give us Mars Volta , U2 , RHCP , Prince , Rammstein , CAN , Kraftwerk , Oasis , Bon Jovi , The Cult , Clash , Ramones - artist who matters - not this with 11.500 monthly listeners on Spotify .
Awesome simply awesome . Real fiery and fantastic band. Heard Snowfall on Judgement Day and The Fullness of Time. Really amazing . Thanks Pete and George 🤘🔥🤘

Pagan's Mind IS in the works! Look for a ranking episode in September!
@@seaoftranquilityprog Thank you for the update! I will prepare to lose my mind by old man proofing the house.

I would like to see you ranking the albums of the progressive metal bands Andromeda (Sweden) and Enchant!
Andromeda was one of my favorites!
Yes, please rank Enchant! My all time favorite.

Pete........Did you see Iron Butterfly drummer Ron Bushy died ?
I did.
I’m intrigued by your statement. If you don’t mind, would you elaborate on what turns you off about Redemption?
another rocker gone. Ron Bushy R.I.P.
I love tom great voice. Evergrey great band but this and the redemption debut my least favs
?
I guess Rich Catino will not be ranking the GammaRay albums. Disappointed
Give us Mars Volta , U2 , RHCP , Prince , Rammstein , CAN , Kraftwerk , Oasis , Bon Jovi , The Cult , Clash , Ramones - artist who matters - not this with 11.500 monthly listeners on Spotify .
Not sure why you keep mentioning these bands when I’ve told you before I either don’t like them or have never listened to them.
And quite frankly, who cares about monthly listens on Spotify???
Maybe if any of those were good
