fix stuck key on 2013 Kia. Cost NOTHING (key that does not want to turn)

The key on my 2013 Kia Rio has a problem! It got stuck a couple times. WD-40 worked a couple times. But now it does Not turn anymore at all! Looking on the net for info about how to fix my Kia. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! WHAT UP! So spending several days on figuring out how to do this I FINALLY DID IT! Now HERE'S the video for YOU! So you don't have to spend those several days anymore!

thank you for the vid. couple of things worth mentioning. you do not have to remove the security bolts to perform this repair. there is a single gold philips head screw on top of the cylinder holding it in. its directly underneath the blinker multifunction switch. I removed mine with needle nose pliers. Once thats out, with the key in ACC, you can press the gold button underneath to remove the switch.

Does this mean Kia made poor quality key cylinder / pin ignition assemblies? I am having a similar problem. Also had problem with siding doors and rear doors not opening or closing properly. Engine and transmission seem good. These other hardware problems not good.

Get some graphite and spray it in the keyhole around the key if it's stuck. I just had this happen on my 2013 Jetta, it worked for a while but eventually i had to replace the ignition, cost me like 300 bucks .

also most modern cars have some chip in the key, so even if someone where to turn the key with a screwdriver it woudnt stay running. i tried this once.
