- In today's live commentary I play my usual battle Engineer playstyle, only this time I handicap myself by using the utility Rescue Ranger as opposed to a Shotgun or Widowmaker. A simple video with a simple premise. Enjoy!

@@DiscountCommander That's why it's funny, the Rescue Ranger is strictly a support tool and it still deals more reliable DPS than the Pomson.

hilariously it's better in every way except total ammo than the pomson
It's actually not all that bad at it either, people really underestimate it
challenge: play with the AWP and Cozy Camper, no scoping allowed

Even as an engineer main, I sometimes underestimate how good the Rescue Ranger can be on its own. Definitely not as widely offensively useful as his other shotguns, but that single, focused projectile can do decent damage. And its primary use of being a support for sentries goes without saying.
Does the same damage as the stock revolver, so it's definitely still pretty decent

Rescue ranger shots are so satisfying to land.
I love these Rescue Ranger battle Engie setups. I remember that Brickiest Brick took it one step further by having a Windex pocket him with a Kritz. Both their video and this one are absolutely hilarious. Great stuff.
There is a type of joy to be had, being able to fire damage at enemies, then swing around and heal your sentry with the same gun. Then also being able to pick off targets easy with the pistol after random crit ranger bolts.

I love this load out! The rescue ranger is super satisfying to kill people with, the noise it makes is so good.
I like to wear a stupid hot dog hat with the fat engie cosmetics when using this and the pistol, something about it annoys the hell out of people

People underestimate the rescue ranger. While it might not be as powerful as the crusader's crossbow, it fills the same gimmick of "support weapon that shoots projectiles". A shotgun is still a shotgun folks.

Honestly if they just took the rescue ranger bolt and stuck it on the pomson, and somehow add the piece abilty onto it, the pomson would immediately become a decent weapon
Only Fatmagic can be crazy enough to play Battle Engi with a gun that has a -33% damage penalty.
Also, he should do a video where he only uses the Gunslinger for melee kills and call it "1, 2, crit" or something.

For Battle Engie with Rescue Ranger, it's a very different playstyle. Eureka Effect your teleporter like a ninjaneer, but move it CONSTANTLY. Your secondary should be Wrangler so you can rocket jump onto ledges and get the most bullshit kills.
