Imagine just the enemy trying their best to kill you for heavily injuring them and killing everyone they knew, but instead of doing something, they patiently wait and watch you beat them up with knives and sticks
especially when eating the Instant noodles because the entire fight stops just so you can make them lol
imagine if in hard mode, asgore would actually raise his attack and defense if you ate the snail pie

First time I fought him I thought he was the hardest battle ever, harder than Mettaton, Omega Flowey... And then I saw Undyne the Undying menacingly standing in the Genocide Run...
Except that when fighting Asgore, like when fighting Toriel, he's holding back his power. Though, while Toriel will refrain from dealing the final blow once you are dropped to 1 HP (unless you go out of your way to have her finish you off), Asgore will deal the final blow on you, but he'll always drop you to 1 HP before he can deal the final blow on you

What happens if you skip the asgore cutscene in the genocide route?
I’ve done it before by modifying my save location and it basically starts off as the normal neutral cutscene at the barrier but then once the battle menu loads the mercy button is already gone and everything proceeds as in the genocide route ending

Here's an idea: is it possible to remove the lightning and fire barriers during the cutscene before the Asriel fight that block Flowey's attacks, and if so, what happens? Do you die or do they pass through you?
It probably won’t keep going because flowey’s pellets are only programmed to go up to the barriers.
The pellets will reflect off the oxygen surrounding you.
its a cutscene, so it'd just bounce anyway.
That's a cutscene, it won't change sh*t
It's an scripted animation, not an actual script of attacks blocking other attacks, so the pellets would still dissapear but on their own.
I can imagine frisk just devouring loads of pie in seconds as Asgore's strength is sapped from him and he falls to the floor.
What if you give yourself dimensional boxes in the legendary artifact room, put the annoying dog in there, and sell to temmie

If there are not enough dogs, picking up legendary artifact will read "this will never happen" and you won't get it

it may have the same item ID just a different name, or be a copy pasted pie which would make it have all things that toby didn't bother changing/deleting, or something else idk
It may have been done on purpose as, with Toby you can never tell. He does like adding small details to things sometimes.
Maybe Toby was actually planning to finish Hard Mode at some point lmao.

Need 'Pie Tale'. In this alternate reality, Frisk keeps eating pie until Asgore begs for some, which Frisk only agrees to give them if they stop killing humans. However, Asgore refuses, trying to put his own people ahead of selfish interests...but Frisk keeps getting fatter and fatter on pie until they are completely immune to Asgore's attacks. When Asgore finally gives up, Frisk tells them he's out of pie. This breaks Asgore's mental state and he just goes crazy looking for pie.

Its funny that even if you cant get snail pie to the asgore fight, it is still coded in, i dont know anything about coding but i think snail pie and the cinnamon or butterscotch pie have all the same code

it might be that at some point toby was gonna complete hard mode or its just copy paste.

A pie lowers his attack by 1 and defense by 5 so after 9 pies he has 1 attack

It work that way because pie(bought) is already codet to lower (not set to lower) ATK and DEF it is because if you pacyfist (befriend everyone who you can) using Talk can lower his ATK and DEF us well to don't make combination (if it will set his stats it won't work because if you do 1 action (eat pie or talk) secont opcion will set stats to same number) but in Undertail no mater how Much DEF you got bullet won't deal 0 DMG (it rule is sometimes overwriten for exsaple flowey finał cut screen he can't kill you there or asriel final attack he won't deal dmg he will set your HP to lower number)

Have you not seen Deltarune? It doesnt have the same mechanics its another world where the monsters are free from the underground but you play as Kris (the adopted child of Toriel) and Asriel is in colleage (not seen/not appeared in the game
In Deltarune, this only happens if the opponent has a negative defense.
...Asgore already has a negative defense (-30).
