      @@Flufflebuffthis is metal, they've always been purely metal tbh, but in this album and this song especially they incorporate so many sounds and styles into it that it pushes boundaries... so yes it's still just A7X and simply metal at the end of the day, but it's what makes metal amazing... they prove you can have any genre in a metal song, but you can't just have metal in just any genre...

    more i listen to it more i get addicted to it, but first time hearing it was so weird and mixed emotions that i instantly started listening to it on repeat. it has so many layers that it's imposiible to catch everything at once, every more listen reveals every little secret they put in this song. it's gonna be long three months before we get album (especially after teasing us with this "controversial" song) but god damn this song will get me throu that time quickly. i am greatful to be fan of a band that isn't scared of changes and doing "unpopular" stuff.

    I think what you meant to say about the solo is that every note has its place and purpose. Every idea moves flawlessly to another, both rhythmically, harmonically, and thematically. This speaks to how much Syn has evolved as a guitar player and a musician. IMHO it is one of his best solos, ever.

    synyster gates is a huge sweeper, and picks most of his runs. He does do legato and tapping stuff as well tho. Also throws alot of dimished and chromatics into things as well, but is known for arpeggios.

      @guiaugusto9162 Рік тому +4

      Funny that in the past, Syn said that he wasnt a fan of the tapping techinique, since he prefered to pick everything, but since The Stage he started incorporating it more to the music of the band

      @@guiaugusto9162 yea probably a wanting to be different thing early on since most guitarists were probably eating up the eruption lick when he was growing up, as he got older probably started letting that kind of stuff go. who knows tho would have to ask him to really find out. what we do know tho is that he picks 90% of everything he does almost no legato and the mans can sweep.

    Love your take on this and the way you did your video. Refreshing to just watch a natural reaction from a guitarist that truly appreciates music. You can tell you expand your mind while being honest with what hits you first.
    Sometimes we don’t like songs out the gate, sometimes we love songs at first listen. This is the kind of approach we need to take. We can judge and it’s okay. We are all different.
    What I love is the common reaction from everyone that it’s a song that hits you different when first tuning in, yet it grows on you.

    Speaking of the album, Life is but a Dream, if you have not heard it yet, the style descends through the ages as you listen from start to finish. My first impression of the album occurred while I was shifting through my grandfather’s penny collection. The beginning of the album was as expected of A7X, heavy and intuitive, yet familiar and invigorating. Towards the midway point, they start shifting gears in order to create a timely transition into a less is more theme. But as I heard the transition unfolding, I was drawn to the hundreds of 1960s and 1970s pennies I was sorting. I was held in a state of disbelief that the songs of the album had traveled back through time just as I was admiring the effect of time in the present with the penny dates trailing back to the early 1930s. The experience I had with the album was highly unique in the environment and setting I had chosen to listen. Which brings me to my point; if you haven’t listened to the full album, you should definitely record a long video reaction of the album in its entirety! This way the album is viewed as its intended whole and we, your current and new audience members, get to see a brand new perspective of this wonderful Avenged Sevenfold album.
    Fair warning, there are some songs with some explicit lyrics and themes, and I am unaware of any PA versions of the tracks in question, so some post editing maybe required. Either way, Synyster Gates is a genius on guitar and his hand is relevant throughout most of the album.
    Another song I’d like to see you react to and dissect would have to be Solitaire Unraveling by Mushroomhead. The band states that it’s a song that will carry a different meaning each time you listen to it. I’d say that in terms of music videos, Solitaire Unraveling and Nobody share very similar themes.
    Keep on rocking! Composing! And sharing your talent and experience with us! From a fellow former marching band bass drummer to a teacher; Mark Time, March! We’re doing the time warp… Again!
