- Ever found the plans for a town that was never built and thought "Hey I wonder how it might have looked"? Well that's what i've done here. This is Bucklers Hard, today a small hamlet in Hampshire that was once famous for it's ship building in the 18th and early 19th century. Now it's just a row of houses, but it could have been so much bigger. This feature will feature Montagu town map and Bucklers hard as it could have looked
This is the start of a limit series I will bee creating to showcase my thought process behind developing how this town could have looked. All this is based on a map of the proposed town and a few details on how wide plots should be, and the roads.
So come with me on this journey as I design and build this town In Minecraft using real life inspiration from around the 1720-1790 time period.
You will learn how I go about planning my towns and builds and hopefully are inspired to try something like this yourself.

I love these types of vids tho they’re massively helpful for anyone who struggles to visualise the full picture or history of a potential town (like me) 😂
Another good idea to look at is Letschworth garden city from +-1910, a new city concept pioneered bye Ebenezer Howard and Raymond Unwin, with lovely cottage style housing and new types of circulation, like one of the first roundabouts in the UK or Europe.
I love the idea behind this new series. I'm really curious and always wanted to know how to build realistic looking towns in Minecraft like in the Terra1912 server!
Your builds are amazing!! I was looking up videos on how to plan Minecraft towns and this was one of the first that came up. I’m so glad I clicked on it bc I now have to watch all of your videos - I love the realistic architecture
We love doable. Looking forward to this and most importantly the inevitable pub for the 2024 crawl - The Buckler's Swash? The Hard Fall?
love this new series. starting off with the town planning as the first episode as well as the history (either real or imagine) builds up the anticipation as well inspiration on how to properly create an organized, real town. looking forward for new episodes
A very good idea would be to recreate the Scandinavian Peninsula or Iceland
I do feel really inspired after this to work on my projects and start something new. It's important sometimes I think to break down a project into these steps and work out what's actually achievable and plan out your progress
Very exciting!
Would love to see some update vids on this!
Can you make post Office tutorial
Cool vid!
I'm very excited for the next part of this series as watching planning always inspires me so much. Also being from West Sussex I love seeing places in my nearby area being built - it feels very familiar to me.
Hope you enjoy it!
IM CURIOUS if you do a whole server tour who long will it be ? I THINK around 10h
NAH ID WIN
question: how do you find those plans?
interesting sort of pilgrim-fok music :P
Wanted that 18th century feel
Are you sure that the ships will be able to navigate the river? The river seems rather small
They fitted down there in real life
Do you have an online heritage inventory in the UK to gather those drawings and plans? In Belgium we do and it's very nice.
Yes we do, the best one for it is the national library of Scotland
Why is Bucklers hard?
