Also for some people a love of history can actually put you there. I remember the 1860s and the 1960s and was never even there.
Millennial's knowledge of history goes back no further than around 1980. Ask one who John F. Kennedy succeeded as President and 99% of them couldn't tell you who it was.

robt555 not at all like NE elite test that actually paid for their children (Donald J Trump, Jared Kushner) to actually attend an Ivy League school. UCLA and USC are good schools not IVY league. Stanford is a great school also not Ivy League. However Stanford would be comparable to Duke, and MIT meaning that the kid will have a phenomenal education and get a high paying job. Also if you look at this kid he didn’t come from money so keep brainwashing yourself. And remember while Laughlin pod 20k to get her kid into USC Trumps dad paid 6.7million to get him into UPENN
robt555 sorry I guess my doctorates and masters and bachelors from schools I got into for good grades and scholarships got in the way of me understanding you. I don’t hate trump actually, he is an idiot but I don’t hate people for being stupid. Nice deflection though. So let this sink in, I am sure it can you just have to “think on it for a spell” if you come from a wealthy family there are certain advantages provided to you by that family due to the wealth or social status. So yes Laughlin’s daughter is dumb and did not deserve to get into USC, however is it more of an offense than Trump or Kushner? No it is the same crime. The difference is Laughlin and the rest of the Aunt Becky’s don’t have money like these others do so they get punished more. I’m not a liberal in a constitutionalist and hate corruption in all forms. I honestly hope Biden goes down with Trump if the rumors are true. But pointing out a negative that Trump benefited from the same thing doesn’t mean I dislike him, if you are so righteous about it and if you were a true Republican you would hold him to a higher standard. I’ll close with this “snowflake” “ok boomer” sorry I was putting it into simple terms you could understand.
It is just one person. He is hardly Stanford. Education is about questions. He very likely formed this view from his perspective, educational experience, and social environment. But he could easily now see things differently after listening to points of view like D'Souza's. Education and changing one's mind should be persistent. At least he had the courage to stand up and ask the question.

Really wish they would stop the attempts at the “gotcha” questions with him. It always seems to backfire College: “How many college students will you have to correct with facts today?” D’Souza: “yes”
@Rick Lane There was never a Southern strategy. Southern states were slowly turning GOP since the 20s, with South Carolina amd Kentucky being notable exceptions. South Carolina remained deep blue until either the 80s or 90s and Kentucky voted solid Republican since the Civil War, despite being a slave state before the war. Also, African Americans were consitently voting Republican until the 60s; the first black congressman were Republicans; and African slaves accounted for three quarters of the Southern population since the founding of this nation until the Civil War. That last fact is why the 3/5ths comprise was put in the constitution. Two deeply divided sides existed, one consisted of pro-slavery Southerns and the other ardent abolitionists. The pro-slavery camp want their slaves, three quarters of the Southern population, to be counted as full persons to allow Southern states to have more representation in the House than they would have otherwise. Obviously the abolitionists saw this as the South's means to enforce slavery through the sheer number of representatives they would have. For example, Virginia was the largest and most populous state at this time as when as being a slave state. So abolitionists didn't want slaves counted at all. Therefore a compromise was made otherwise the constitutional covention would have failed as would the US.

That's entirely possible. Still, I wonder about this kid's parents. Perhaps, they stressed the importance of education as he grew up, attended every parents' night at his school and worked hard to send their kid to one of the most expensive colleges in the U.S....only to have him come home on winter break and spout all the unoriginal thoughts planted by fools in their son's foolish skull. I'm not joking or being sarcastic when I say that he must've broken his parents' hearts. Of course, it's equally possible that whatever he says or does is okay by them, and if they keep picking up the tab for him...well, I still pity them, just for different reasons.
Dinesh dodged the kid's question: namely, the "Radical Republicans" in the 1850s and 60s were on the left. Horace Greeley, one of the co-founders of the Republican Party literally hired Karl Marx to write for his newspaper. John Brown, who committed the atrocity at Harper's Ferry, had a son who said, "My father was a Republican and a Communist". The early Republican party was extremely leftwing and acted like Antifa Today [as John Brown provides a testament]. Read JFK's "Profiles in Courage," to see how evil the radical Republicans were during Reconstruction. The college student's point was that the party's really DID undergo an ideological inversion. The Democrats were once the conservatives and the Republicans were once the liberals. Its why it was Republicans who promoted women's suffrage and blacks as mayors and governors. They rose to power, using blacks as stalking-horses. For instance, the radical Republicans disenfranchised Southern whites, stripping anyone who was in the Confederacy of voting rights [which was, like, 90% of the male population]. They then extended voting rights to illiterate ex-slaves and instructed them on "how to vote". By this method, they rigged elections and consolidated power. Dinesh did a dance of distraction to pivot away from these facts.
I'm surprised to note that Dinesh didn't mention that the Republicans, during Ike's admin, tried to pass a civil rights act and were stopped by a powerful Texas senator from the Dems. Guess who? If you guessed LBJ you win!!
Not quite factual, postalin, Johnson strong armed the racist southern senators into passing a very weak Civil Rights bill with no enforcement clause......you got that wrong.
Throughout history there has and always will be 2 types of people-winners and con artists. And the latter are democrats. The only changes are what types of con are being played against the winners.

Also for some people a love of history can actually put you there. I remember the 1860s and the 1960s and was never even there.
Millennial's knowledge of history goes back no further than around 1980. Ask one who John F. Kennedy succeeded as President and 99% of them couldn't tell you who it was.
I wish these young adults were only interested in truth, then they’d listen.
When I watched the video, I noticed that the young adult was seeking wisdom from Dinesh.
He’s going to move back home look for a job in the private sector for 4 or 5 years and settle for a government career..
His last name must be Sanders.
Damian DeLapp wrong, he will be Assistant Manger at Starbucks, eventually.
Stanford student acts and talks exactly as I expected. The forever victim.
Because he has long hair? I thought that line of reasoning disappeared with the 70s.
James J as you say that more than likely you or your children will likely work for a company he creates or have your lives improved by a product he designs. Assuming you have the education to get hired or the job that pays well enough to afford that product.
robt555 not at all like NE elite test that actually paid for their children (Donald J Trump, Jared Kushner) to actually attend an Ivy League school.
Prolly cant even play "Stairway to heaven"... fucking clammy handed geek
And Stanford are supposed to be the "smart" college kids. Heaven help us ALL.
Amen
if he is the smart kid of stanford then i wonder what is the intelligence of studdents that are studying in lower ranked colleges.
Rich parents paying off school officials so there dumb kids can go there.
No russia collusion - Mueller. #toomuchwinning
I love listening to you school people and show how ignorant they really are. So many people still not awake. Keep up the good fight. You are a brilliant debater and full of articulate facts. LOVE IT!
You're right - they're not awake - just woke. The ignorance is astonishing.
Really wish they would stop the attempts at the “gotcha” questions with him. It always seems to backfire
College: “How many college students will you have to correct with facts today?”
D’Souza: “yes”
Yes Rick Lane I remember when they had the meeting and said "Let's switch names of our parties ". SMH
Oh I dont know...I thought is was a pretty good tweak if not a gotcha
This is just about the best video I've watched on politics. Every American should watch this.
Perseverance is, President Donald John Trump.

Dinesh’s first thought after the question was asked... “This guy is an imbecile.”
After the pause and audience clapping, “This room Is full of them...”
I think they were laughing at Dinesh reaction. The long pause contemplating to himself "is this kid really that dumb?" Or "is he serious and wanting an answer or is he trying to troll me right now?"
No, the audience is not left and their not supporting the "imbecile". They know how dumb that "argument" was and are applauding Dinesh's coming response.
'Death of a Nation' should be seen on all college campuses around the country. Makes you think how history is reflected into today's society. Great movie! This man is a national Treasure!
wats that
Should be seen in all High-Schools...
You meant " birth of a nation", I believe
I am so glad Mr D'SOUZA you are educating these young people. We're are there father's? Where do they get there thoughts from?
they have no fathers, most homes are broken as the culture traps them into continuing the cycle.
They get their thoughts from the indoctrination camp's, the high schools and colleges
Suzan iovieno You mean "their fathers" and "their thoughts". Politics is bs, THERE is a thought.
their professors, petulant nebbishes, who have no inkling of the world outside the campus

I wish they wouldn’t clap like his question made an intelligent point.
To the idiots who clapped, Mr. hipster hair DID make an intelligent point! 😂😂😂
I love when he takes a deep breath and clears his throat...you just KNOW he's fixing to set it off in there
A Sanford student asking one of the stupidest questions I ever heard from an “educated” mind.
One of my Son's teachers made a distinction. She had been teaching for over 40 years, at that time that would mean since 1970. She said she's a teacher, most of the others are educators. Educators tow the democratic party line she said. Right from NEA. So he probably is educated meaning an indoctrinated mind.
He's living proof that "smart" and "educated" aren't synonyms.
Don’t confuse education with intelligence.
I thought it was a pretty good tweak.....and I be D'Souza didnt even know that Marx and Engels wrote for Greeley's Repub Tribune....
That long hair guy's soy cup overfloweth.
I'll never tire of hearing D'Souza counter the projections and inane leftist ideals, nothing short of shattering them with sheer brilliance! He consistently delivers a ray of HOPE for humanity.
History, if not changed/erased...will tout him as one of the greatest minds of our time.
I LOVE when the smug, self indulgent college geniuses grin while asking a question that they are convinced will stump Dinesh... I have yet to see a single one of them not be squashed flat with Dinesh's infinitely superior knowledge and intellect. I find it extremely satisfying...
Nahhhh....listen to Chris Hitchens take D'Souza's theological arguments apart on UA-cam.
Except its bullshit. The Trump cult is absolutely the cult of racism today. You can pretend it's not as much as you like but that's not going to change reality. You only have to listen to them talk amongst each other when they think they're not going to get caught. I have plenty of them in my family and social circle and I've gotten real tired of it.
God bless Dinesh!
Who on earth would think for one second, that they might ask a question that would trick up Mr Desouza.?
Ain't going to happen.
What a brilliant man!!!!!
Dinesh's answer was deflective....I didnt think it was all that good.
D’Souza, Knowles, Owens and Shapiro are able to articulate what I think

Dinesh is sharp and smooth. I hope we get to enjoy his contributions to our public discourse for many years to come.
Dinesh, great job! Keep it up for re-educating these younger kids as what truth is. Thank you👍❤!

Great explanation. People, not just kids have to understand how to think critically and reason properly. Without that we have a truly dependent class of people. (Dependent on the forked tongues of political opinion leaders, and "outlier" definitions.)

The proverb 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing' expresses the idea that a small amount of knowledge can mislead people into thinking that they are more expert than they really are, which can lead to mistakes being made.
The condescending smirk on the student’s face before the takedown😅
Am I hearing the same question again or do people actually ask this repeatedly
For the kids analogy to be accurate, Karl Marx would have to be running the paper today.
I'm pretty sure I've heard 'Carlo', just to add to it.

How he get into Stanford? Makes me think I should've got in
Save your money, trade school. Learn a skill that pays.
The requirements seem you have to be a racist liberal willing to believe any moron professor put in front of you. You must be intolerant of any thoughts other than those you’re told to think. And you have to be willing to repeat those lies over and over, even though you are constantly proven wrong by those pesky facts.

His parents must be in the democrat party somewhere in congress. That's who gets into Harvard mostly. "It's a big club and you're not invited" RIP George Carlin
@Jim McCracken Yes, good point.
Student's face priceless
He was just schooled by D'souza 😎
Dinesh should have ended with “how do like them apples?”
I love Dinesh D'Souza - a brilliant, intelligent man.
At least he can have a career as a wizard at Hogwarts....
Throughout history there has and always will be 2 types of people-winners and con artists. And the latter are democrats. The only changes are what types of con are being played against the winners.
We dont know very much when we're 20. That's why we listen to and question those with wisdom.
