I'm excited to hear that embroidery scissors are usually not a problem - I've always flown with my knitting or crochet even if I would rather sew because I was worried about the scissors! I've never had a problem with knitting needles or crochet hooks, flying either domestically within the U.S. or to Europe (and I usually have *many* pairs in my bag).

The 3ml sample inch vial could also serve as a clear case for needles, so TSA can check your needles.

For a real small tin of hand moisturizer, I find Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream helpful.

The CoCoVid Badge Fairy flew by with a little "crocus" for you! (See what I did there!)

I've traveled to the UK with knitting and crochet. I've not had any problems with TSA or UK security. I will carry the nail clippers as well for cutting they will work for up to worsted weight yarn.

Most places won’t take embroidery scissors away from you (under a couple inches blade length), however, I did get a small pair taken in Tahiti. From then on I used children’s scissors with a blunt tip or nail nippers.

I travel with tiny cuticle scissors from the 99 cent store. They are TSA compliant because they are tiny enough. They are sharp but don't stay that way for more than a year or 2, but they are cheap and not sentimental.

Hello! The CoCoVid fairy brought me here, but your charming personality kept me! What a nice video! I am only beginning with my embroidery (cross stitch forever!), but I found a little metal box - I think it used to be for pralines (little chocolates) and it is flat but wide enough for my hoop, some embroidery floss, a tiny little pair of scissors and my pattern. Fits into every bag and pirse, love to carry it that way!

Would thread snips by ok? They are less than 4inches as per TSA policy.

I had a very small pair of embroidery scissors with me and my smocking. The first tsa ck let me through the gate entering the Philippines. The same scissors were taken from me when I was exiting the country. I made tha comment that I brought them into the country with ut problems, and he said well, this was existing, not entering, and I would be leaving them with him !!! They were kept !!!! :(
