I spent a horrible day trying to use my pleater for the first time. Discover old thread breaks, my fabric was maybe too thick and I broke many needles! Loved your honesty about bloopers you made! I think I'll try again!
That was great to watch. I have also never seen a pleater in action and wondered how they work. Looking forward to the next part. I recommend you lower the background music just a little. It would be nice to hear you better. Thanks for your time producing your videos.
Thank you so much for your support and feedback! I’m still learning the audio adjustments in my editing software and will be more cautious about sound volumes in the future.
This is the first time I've ever seen smoking done...I just didn't know how it was done...thank you so much for that...so sorry that it didn't turn out right but hey...I learn from it...so thank you again...look so forward to your next video...oh and newbie here also..
Thank you so much for joining me! This is one of those things where there are a lot of right ways to do things, and this just happens to be the way I go about it. I’ve also been super fortunate to know very skilled artisans who shared their experience with me early on.
You are adorable and the best is showing, what can go wrong, I am about to buy a smoker, and I prefer a 'Warts and all' approach, the good stuff and the bad!! 😍 😍
How deep are the pleats the machine makes, and can they be varied? Thank you for showing the pitfalls of the machine and dangers to avoid! I smocked sleeves by hand last December and loved the results so much, but I think it took something like 16 hours of work per sleeve. PS. You have lovely natural nails. :)
A pleater does have a fixed pleat depth because it’s made by the grooves in the brass rollers, about 1/4”. There are times that hand pleating is the better choice, and needing a deeper pleat is one of them. Thank you! (And thank you for noticing my nails :) I’ve been trying to take better care of them)

I'm a teacher too - I believe it is important to show errors too!!
I think it also helps the students connect with me as a person they can trust, too.
I have tried to smock. And set it aside because my thread kept breaking so I'm trying to use orange nylon thread. Because it doesn't break
I wonder if you have the little Amanda or Amanda Janes? I hope you can share what needles you use? Thank you
Hi there! I have a 16 row Little Amanda, and I get replacement needles from Farmhouse Fabrics.
Onde comoro essa maquina?
Uy que chambona cuántas agujas se llevo .
