Questions if you don’t mind. I’m building a home brew and I like the Williams sounds. Would it matter what system I’m using Bally etc.? Sounds are sounds correct? Also. I realize that rule sets can be complicated to program but on a simple set can any part of that language be “copy and pasted”? Such as. Pop bumpers only have one action and a designated point set to it. (or two actions if you consider one action is down and the second action
is up). Slings have one action. Flippers have one (or two)

Extra ruleset : drop all targets, popup one for a certain amount of time, shoot fast, big points. count down to zero maybe?

Hey do you know how to add new sounds to a f14 tomcat rom. What type of reader/ writer do you need??

So could i take the electronics from a machine, build and design my own playfield (with coils and such from the same manufacturer), use the I/O ports from the electronics i took and hook my stuff to it. Then reprogram everything and basically have my own, fully custom, game.

Yes. But you don't have to destroy an existing game. Just have a switch on the BSOS board so you can switch between your code when your custom playfield is in place, and the original code, when you have the original playfield installed.

Yes you could theoretically take the playfield and rearrange everything as long as you kept the wiring in place and have a completely different game

If you can reprogram the program.
Would that mean you have to redesign the playfield?
    For the new rules?

Not necessarily. For examples, you could reprogram the table for the drop targets to stay down, instesd of resetting when the bank has been knocked down. Instead you need to hit another switch to reset the drop targets. Or perhaps the targets will stay down untill the next ball.
The playfield not needing a redesign.
