- Hello and welcome to this weeks video on Phencyclidine or PCP. In this video we look at the history of the drug when it was synthesised and why it became illegal. We look at how the drug works and its effects, we also discover how it can aide in research for mental disorders such as schizophrenia.

I'm 64. Started experimenting with drugs in 1970. First trip was Purple Mescaline & Pink Tab T done an hour apart. After that I did ton's of psychedelics for 2-3 years. When PCP came along that was the end of my voyage. I used & sold it for about 6 months.... Then I had a psychotic breakdown while on it alone. I thought I was dying. I passed out. When I awoke I was in the bottom of my shower stall with all my clothes on & cold water pouring over me. I'd had enough. Evil Shit (especially cut with heroin.)

when I saw it in Tacoma, WA it was in late 70's and they called it elephant tranquilizer and it was shot in the animal then scooped out and reused

Two days ago I ate shrooms laced with pcp with my girlfriend. We didn’t know it was laced and it was just a terrible experience. For a moment we both thought we died.
Jesus that experience must of been seriously intense😅,how many grams did you eat or were they dried out?Because at higher doses of shrooms you could have an ego death and an ego death is always a bad experience even tho the outcome is good in the end.Having one is definitely an intense ride especially if you don’t know how to handle it or wasn’t expecting it.
@@emmasmith6191 I knew it was laced tho the most I’ve done was 4 grams and it never made me trip bad. I knew something wasn’t right because of how fast I started feeling the shrooms. When before it would take 30-45 mins. That same day I went to the hospital and they found pcp in my system.

I tried shrooms once before... no idea how much it was, it was clearly too much for my small body tho seeing how it made me feel like I was going to die and everyone hated me, and or was out to get me. Straight up hard-core paranoia...

I never understood why anyone would take PCP. At least meth seems to have euphoria despite its terrible downsides. This seems like a nightmare from the start. Fascinating thanks.
It’s a tap into the spiritual world that why people do it and we’re you are might affect you like in Louisiana majority of the state is built on slave burial grounds and places that used to be plantations so when people smoke it down here they always say they see demons or people crying or a grim reaper looking man and some people claimed to see a bunch of dead people in the Mississippi River due to all the people that drowned there
Germany actually made the drug and used it on soldiers fighting the Russians. Allies never really saw the crazy meth German after Dunkirk but the Soviets did.

That explains why the police sometimes find it difficult to restrain people on PCP, but also why tasers can become ineffective on those who have taken high doses.
Because it numbs pain, people have no physical sensation when they are high, therefore cannot tell when they are doing injury to themselves. That's where the illusion of exaggerated strength comes from. People have been known to break out of handcuffs on PCP and have ended up needing reconstructive surgery on their shattered wrists. But they couldn't feel a thing until the drug wore off, then were in absolute agony.
I work in an acute psych ward. Patients admitted, who are still high on PCP, can be hypervigilant, paranoid, aggressive, and hostile. Most likely having hallucinations and can be more difficult to restraint.

I ate a weed gummy that was laced with pcp (I did not know) and it was the worst night of my life. I truly thought that was going to be my last day. Every single minute felt like it was an hour and I had very dangerous thoughts and hallucination. I now believe I have short term memory loss because of that experience.

My sister was a heavy PCP user and while pregnant did not stop using.We just lost her 1st son who was 32 yrs ald,and her 2 other kids are troubled while she is obtuse to the hell she's caused her kids.Iam sad beyond belief due to the fact I knew with her behaviour her kids didnt have a good chance at much,and now the downfall has begun.Women who are drugs addicts should never have children ,period.They do not stop when pregnant cause the only times dope addicts stop is when they are asleep,in recovery or dead

relationship with his mother(his great niece) and him being tossed from relative to relative.His mother is in her late 50's ,still in denial and a drug user with 2 other sons who have issues.When a drug using female is pregnant and claims to have stopped using while pregnant,she is a liar.The only way a drug user stops is while asleep,in recovery or dead.Now with meth,heroin usage, I pity these kids of today.At this point we are 3 generations of dysfunction since women who came up in the 60's /70's were all 'free spirited' which meant sex,drugs and babies with men they werent married to ,or had anything going for them.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m adopted and when my mom had me in her belly she was using a lot of laced marijuana and other drugs. I’m lucky I came out ok but when she had me she didn’t stop using. She left me in my back to starve and my mothers sister had to take me away when I was just a couple months old.

the problem is the laced weed or cigarettes dipped with pcp, people always heavily overdose, that's why they do all these crazy shit, if you dose it correctly it's one of the best drugs, still pretty strong nonetheless
What is a 'correct dose'?
The thing with PCP is that I've been around, I've tried a lot of things, but even the stuff I've never tried like meth or heroine was still available. If I had ever wanted to do it back in the day it wouldn't have taken more than a couple phone calls. However, I've never known anybody who had PCP available, just a few stories from friends that dipped a cigarette in it or supposedly smoked weed laced with it.
@@taitjones6310 about 1-3mg is a good dose for beginner, you see how low this is ? laced cigarettes or weed is often times 100x overdosed which will lead to a psychotic trip

By drops, I mean the "Wet" liquid version of PCP, with an eye dropper. Haven't heard of the powder being around in a while, except when there were all those PCP analogues being sold online a few years back

NotoriusDrifter it’s not as if alcohol is stronger on potency or damage than heroin. But it’s a really tough drug to quit since it’s the least stigmatized, you can find it anywhere and everyone uses it, and alcoholic is triggered everytine by the drug’s easy acquisition
@@grimmjowjeaguerjaquez5065 Well pure heroin does virtually no damage to the body or brain, the only concerns as long as it's not cut are overdose, very high dependency/addiction potential and awful withdrawals (which unlike alcohol withdrawals can't kill you)

I had lsd laced w it it was either the lsd or cocaine bc my friend had tried some and then got probation a week later and on his drug test pcp showed up any ideas?

my day 1 friend set me up to smoke pcp 3 months ago, it was the worst drug I came across. I only took 1 big hit then I left and went home immediately. I suffer a lot... how long will it stay in my system and will I be able to get back smoking weed again because I used to love getting high.

@@biancavega850 - PCP does have very long term effects. You seem to have strange flashback feelings like when you used it, and a spaced out feeling that stays with you for years. I experienced this myself.
Drugs can often trigger pre-existing mental health problems.
But that was a very scumbag move of your father.
There are drugs that can ease your uncles symptoms like CBD but i am not a doctor

Dissociatives tend to be unpleasant.
Using an anti anxiety medication before a dissociative or hallucinogenic can make the experience of such strong drugs way more enjoyable.
Like how vinegar is disgusting on its own but with other food can be delicious

So, I went to my friend house we were smoking a blunt I know I hit it about 5-7 times after he EVEN stopped smoking it but what's strange is it didn't bother him I ended up leaving all I remember was walking on my way home and I seen some dogs I ran from them then I started hearing things way more then I usually would. Later on, I ended up in the hospital and the doctors told me certain things shouldn't be in my body and I should never smoke again. I didn't listen, smoke with my relatives I had anxiety but after a few minutes it went away and I felt like everything was back to normal then I took a month break smoked again with a friend then I went right back to the same feeling I had when I was laced ever since I just stopped because I don't understand how PCP works can someone tell me is it long term for me and I should never smoke again I really need guidance.

Do not touch PCP, too much can cause irreversible chemical changes causing permanent symptoms of schizophrenia.
Cannabis is the only drug that ever gave me a drug induced psychosis, smoked it for over half my life and still do, it was an edible that caused it tho.
Worrying about long lasting effects can often be worse then actually having long lasting effects depending on the effects ofcourse.
Go to a doctor and explain the symptoms but dont try blaming the drugs, it could be an underlying mental health issue that the drug simply induced.
Drugs work different for everyone, just take good care of yourself, diet and eating habits are often way more damaging then drugs if you dont do them everyday
I love getting high. I hope in the future I don't always feel the need to abuse the things I do but for now I'm just trying to fill this lonely kind of feeling 😔but I will b better one day💯

It's been about a month we hade mdma and in break down we smoked some weed that had pcp laced on it ( we didn't know) it was a very bad experience I hade strong visual effects and I thought that it I've gone crazy. But it wasn't for long that I regained some consciousness. Some friends hade some bizarre behavior one was calling god in an aggressive manner,😂 this was the worst experience I hade in my life. Tree days after I started having panic attacks till this day
MDMA messed me up a thousand times more then PCP did, they are both neurotoxic but in my experience MDMA is far worse, i tried MDMA once and had 5+ seizures the next day, PCP never did anything like that to me and ive had it way more often.

I think by fermenting animal fats into Diethylamine, a secondary process is created where some of the alchohols and hydrocarbons combine with the hydrochloric acid (stomach acid) ,nzturally present in trace amounts, into PCP. It's used by morticians to prevent body decomposition I think, they replace the blood in the veins with it. It's also naturally produced and results in rigormortis after an animal dies.

Once me and my friend were sold "weed" edibles, little chocolate coconut balls. Seller told us its just weed inside. When we ate those (each had just one), it was fun at first but then we suddenly lost ability to walk normally and we had to find first bench in the park so we couldn't collapse on the floor. We were laughing like crazy, but then the wave of intense "floatiness" hit, my friend had to threw up a few times and I was lying on the ground numb af and we couldn't talk to each other. Next day we spent whole day in bed...So we figured out that wasn't just weed... was it PCP or heroin? I'm fine with weed, but anything else...I swear to god if I ever see that guy that sold us this shit I'll fucking strangle him! That's why...pls don't ever buy from strangers...never.

I had a very similar experience with an edible. It was a packaged chocolate bar. I had a corner of it and had a bad and barfy 🤢 trip. The thing with packaged edibles is they are not regulated yet. You don’t really know what the hell is in them unless you made them yourself. I’ve had edibles that I made or friends made that were strong but nothing like the experience with the candy bar. It was unreal.
It was most likely not laced, the things you just described are all edible related symptoms.
Cannabis edibles is the only drug that ever gave me a psychosis, not even PCP, MDMA, Salvia, Opiates or Amphetamines gave me a psychosis.
Dont underestimate cannabis especially edibles.

I love PCP, but so far just low doses of 3 MEO PCP... First 2 times I tried it I felt like I died, I remember just being frozen, unable to move a muscle, thinking about how fuckin dead I was but without giving a fuk about it. All next highs have been celestial to me, I reduced my doses and try to be completely calm before smoking it.
3 MEO PCP can feel really nice and it causes no hangover, maybe I should be ashamed but I fuckin love it jesus christ...
I've tried Ketamine before and it was very pleasant, I only took a small amount though. Never felt so chilled out and calm in my life..lol
