My 13 F150 goes into 4L and back into 2H, but it won’t go into 4auto or 4H. Is it the shift motor?

Really bad design for something that might save your life if your out in the middle of no where stuck because you only have two wheel drive. Better to have a manual or just have 3 solenoids 2x4 4x4h and 4x4L with a switch for each. Ford knows this shit so does every other car company. They want shit to not last after the warranty is up.
this cost 160 for just this new part. 160 x 200000 cars is 32 million minus retail is 16 million, do that with a whole bunch of different parts and its a new company making millions.
Seriously there are people sitting down talking to each other trying to figure out what parts they can make fail over time and this is one of them. Cant wait for that ford lightning to come out LMAO anything electric they can control when it fails its going to be a nightmare for the second owners maybe even the first if they dont do it right.

Should dielectric grease be used on the plate to help longevity?

I'm not sure if this set is available to the general public. The set I'm working with in the video is offered through an online tool distributor called Rotunda. I think you have to be "special" to use them. lol. (I was able to get it through my work place.)

It isn't supposed to come apart. It's cleaned just by manipulating it. I think I have a link to a video showing this in the description of this video. I didn't make the video but I think the guy that made it did a pretty good job.

@@BarboursAutoHelp I tried to look for some spring loaded 1.5mm or 2mm insulated leads and I searched for hours, found nothing.. they certainly look handy.. my cousin said just shrinkwrap some crimp on connectors to spare set of leads, thought would be too fat to do side by side pins.. hate having to juggle when probing.. thanks for info

@@BarboursAutoHelp so they were broke to take apart? ok.. I read forum posts on the Fords and people claim they are cleaning and lubing up that assembly, so thought it may just snap apart for that procedure.. too bad it isn't designed like that as some steel wool and dielectric grease would do wonders..

Well, what is wrong with it? What year is it? I'm assuming it's an F150. Need details.

@@BarboursAutoHelp I'm having the same issue 2010 F150 replaced bad transfer case motor now it says 4x4 shift in progress switches to 4H then right back to 2H, then check 4x4 light comes back on. Already replaced vacuum solenoid.
