At least the clutch disc was NOT backwards. I was really hoping I didn't do that lol
they legend says if you are early Garrett will reply
Cleetus McFarland or upside down...🤔
Unacceptable lol
Cleetus McFarland can I drink chocolate milk? I want to chill but I'm in the mood for chocolate milk
Hell with the milk lol. I got mountain dew
9:35 I disagree. These episodes are just as entertaining as some of the racing videos because they are so raw. This is what it takes to compete in the sport and it is cool to watch everything unfold. I think I speak for most of your audience when I say that we enjoy the little details. Complete bummer that you can't be out burning rubber tomorrow but it is all a part of the experience. #SponsoredBy2%Milk

Biff McCornhole here Cleetus McFarland. Don't worry and keep your spirits high. Those mini fridges and vending machine with a lifetime supply of Mountain Bardle Skeet will be arriving soon and you'll be able to drown all your sorrows away with some crisp, refreshing Mountain Bardle Skeet. And you can always enjoy it and fuel up to make yourself feel better.
Fast of last $
yeet
Do it or Cleetus gonna fire you from the dirty burger partnership
Shoot with the power your making should have just gotten another triple disk and gotten an upgraded torque tube and bell housing. That way you drop another weak link.
Love these check in style videos tbh. It's nice watching the ups and downs along the way. Makes watching Leroy T. Savage tear down the track even more satisfying
BARTLE SKEET QUEST FOR 7's CONTINUES!
Cleetus McFarland well at this point you could get neighbor to pull it.
Cleetus McFarland cracking a bartle skeet to that silly mistake haha
Dude, you need a new input shaft anyways, why not upgrade it so the 3 disk will work?????
Cleetus McFarland we like these videos. It's like MCM videos
Cleetus McFarland no racing noooo ;--; my bald eagles won't fly today.
What is needed to utilize the three disc? A different torque tube with longer splines? If so, might as well upgrade tube and stick with the three disc so all the effort doesn't go to waste.
this ^
Cleetus just casually starting wars over milk % in his comments section lol
Well, Minn bound...my personal belief is milk should only be taken from the source.
Whole milk only
Whole Milk*
I thought milk was just milk .. Never heard of percentage milk... is that like 2% cream?
Or 2% mountain dew?
Take the opportunity to upgrade. Don't take a step backwards to the twin. Do what it takes to go triple.
thanks so much for the knowledge man helps a lot cant wait to see the mtn dew sponsorship on the windshield
Keep your head up brother, my dad is one of the best mechanics I know and the best piece of advice he told me is "the difference between a pro and an apprentice is the pro knows how to fix his mistakes". If you ain't breaking you ain't learning. Racing is fun but it's fixing your car that really makes it worth it when you can say you did that with pride.
Make sure to measure the center of the crank to the center of the input shaft when you put an aftermarket bellhousing on. You may need offset bellhousing dowels. Also you should get a torque tube with longer spline so you can keep that triple disk.
At least you guys know how to work in time lapsed otherwise it would take you a lot longer
Bud Green exactly
The Clutch is rated for 1500 WHP but you still managed to break it... nice.
Daily Autos yup hahaha
Cleetus McFarland OMFG I LOVE YOU
Daily Autos that was gay
broke it with 2 man power
theown32 yeah fuck a horse right
My favorite repairs are always the ones where I learned how things really worked. Keep up the great content!
Glad ya got it figured out. But honestly, you have roached 1 twin disc, so why not find a torque tube with the longer splines and go ahead and upgrade that as well?
I'd still go with a triple disc just get another torque tube. Yea it cost alot of money but better to get it right and have the power to the wheels and know it'll work each and every pass you make from there on till you burn up the clutches again.
Watching a bad day in the shop with cleetus is better than a good day with no mcfarland videos! Keep posting up videos daily and letting us take the journey with you. I live an hour away and sometimes wish i could come help turn wrenches!!
Thumbs up for sharing your failures with and showing how it really goes as all backyard mechanics truely know!!
Without doubt... One of the very best and most encouraging chapters you have done till now.... Fantastic stuff. Being a mechanic i know how soul destroying it can be to tear something appart for the third time in a week without having run the machine and with the machine fighting you all the way... As comments here under have said "STICK WITH IT" you're almost home.
Whole milk only !!!! Red cap life lol
hell yeah brother
He’s had it apart so many times, he might want to inspect all the chassis and suspension fasteners really close when reassembling, and actually use a torque wrench to secure them...
it’s no fun having to remove a captured nut that’s stripped out in some subframe hole.
I remember a lot of worn fasteners back in tech school from repeated teardowns and reassembles.
That's a good tip. We have bins upon bins of new nuts and bolts in my shop, and if a fastener isn't 100% it gets replaced.
The problem is a lack of Bartle Skeet in Leroy
Ivana Notyers the drink of the gods.
Aka mountain dew
Stay with the triple disk, lengthen the splines- get a new shaft made. Cause ur motor is going to chew up those twin disks. My opinion. Threw my experience hard to keep a smile, u keep urs. 🤘🏽& u Always have to modify the modify to make it work!!! Lesson I was taught by an old gear head. Once u modify a OEM component u have to modify Everything behind it. Keep up the good work. Build it too break it!!!!!!
I’ve got a bartle skeet in one hand a cold one in the other. With a tall glass of 2% on deck! I love to see Leroy making passes but the last few videos are what make me watch every video. You put in the work to learn and make Leroy even more savage. I’m in the learning process myself so I respect the mistakes and all the effort it takes to fix it and to film and edit all this video. Keep doing what you do! You’ve got my support all the way!!!
Not boring at all, I loved all these trying to troubleshoot and figure out videos. Keep them coming.
So awesome to see you be so honest! Totally sucks, but live and learn. 7s here we come!
2%?! Any bald eagle loving, red blooded ‘Merican drinks WHOLE milk...straight from the teat!
Ludicrous Plaid strait from the teat is utterly delicious.
lol y'all just let that troll eat.
Ludicrous Plaid hell yeah brother, I do 2 teats at once !!
Crazy problems that just appear when your trying to go fast. I was currently dealing with a similar problem obviously not to the scale of your build but i pulled my trans 6 times to diagnose and repair trans issues lol. Keep up the good work brother!
These last videos are no different then every time I work on my jeep. Still love all the Leroy content. Keep making them good news or bad. A couple dews and she will be ok.
2% milk? Clearly the deal with Mtn Dew fell thru
Bulldogs2018 that’s the only reason he hasn’t got the sponsor
Showing real life... shit happends. Keep doin it for Dale brotha.
i want to see cooper's cts v build
You've got a great attitude to stuff breaking or going wrong , it's really the best way to handle it.
really loving the content and I'm happy to hear Leroy's gonna live. keep up the great work and I can't wait to see you make the first 7 second pass :D
That's what I love about this chanal is that he shows every part both good and bad.
My first truck as an 81 Chevy stepside, straight 6 with 3 on the tree... got an interceptor 350 from a wrecked cop car for 300 bucks, put the shifter on the floor, 4.11 posi, and it moved fairly well for a daily, and never ran from cops street racing, that would just be too ironic... But I did have to change the clutch every 3 months or so, too much dumping it in 2nd and pulling one wheel up lol, but got lotsnkf experience, and that's all that matters... As much as I cussed all my race trucks, still miss them... Now I have an old 07 classic Lr4, it's getting cammed then single turbo, and man you are inspiring some of us older rodders to get back into it, so keep it up and do it for dale
one thing i like about you cleetus is you really do it for dale and you aint affraid to get your hands dirty thumbs up for really doin it
I actually enjoy that you include all of this stuff, and not only posting the fancy racing and fooling around.
Live and learn. Glad you got it figured out and all this mess might have been a blessing in disguise somehow. Was looking forward to see how the car did with the triple but at least they're going to rebuild the twin. Hope she holds when Leroy is turned up to run that 7sec pass. Good luck and cant wait to see what happens next.
Bro the learning experience is the most valuable part of your videos !!
Sorry to hear it dude. I had an off brand stage 3 clutch on an old turboed 240SX I drove years ago. It was still a sprung disc. One day the pedal effort skyrocketed and I had a hard time getting it in and out of gear but it was semi driveable (with patience). Turns out a spring came out of the clutch disc hub and wedged itself sideways, so basically every time I was pushing in the clutch I was fighting against a spring! It was a pretty new clutch (just a few months)! I went to a SPEC stage 4 or 5 with an unsprung hub so I could never have that problem again. Engagement was a lot like a light switch but you can get used to it. That was a daily driver too!
Your "buddies" at monster clutch should of known a 3 disk was bigger and verified that their customers, especially you have the proper spline
not being a dick but ,,..... i agree ^
I’m glad I’m not the only person that has these kind of issues working on cars. It’s a pain in the ass when aftermarket parts don’t fit like they should or have issues.
Jacob Ford It's even worse when it's your own fault by not doing some simple prep work like measuring the spline length like Cleetus did. No one to blame but yourself, I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to that kind of thing lol
Cleetus you need to be sponsored by mtn dew rn bc I used to never drink it and now I can’t stop buying it😤😤
Hey bro. That's how we learn. I know it sucks doing the same work 5 or more times, But You do it enough times and you become an expert. Take Care and keep em coming! I'm looking at putting a more radical sounding Cam in my 2011 RAM 1500 4x4 5.7 Hemi. I all ready have a Flowmaster Cat back system. Now I want that radical Cam Sound.
We learn something new each day buddy. I bet that the “pro mechanics” have a point in life were they broke something. No one is perfect. Keep it up. Make that frustration a really nice Burn out!
Oh trust me, we have. If a mechanic ever tells you he's never broke anything, he's lying. I've been wrenching professionally for 8 years, and just 2 weeks ago I broke an alternator mounting bolt. What a joy extracting that was...
Well we are on the same boat. Been working as mechanic since 2010. I have seen and done many thing. But what grinded my gears was a intake flange bolt that broke on a MAN engine in a 89 footer yatch.. i hated my self for a couple of days
jose m ouch! Bet you don’t pull that one again. Put a wrong starter in a Cummins 4.5 once. I maintain a fleet and we have several pieces of equipment with Cummins engines. The adapter plates for all of them will bolt up a variety of starters, but when you put one in for a 4bt 3.9, it tends to explode into pieces of aluminum and steel that rattle around in the bell housing for the next year.
Just gotta remember. Nothing is hard, some things just take longer to fix. It's good to see you staying positive. Most people I've been around in shops start throwing tools and quit WAY before the bell housing is broke. Multiple times.
I feel for ya. Went thru similar experience this year, had to pull the tranny out of my crx 3 times this year, using just hand tools and jackstands in my garage. But, we learn from it every time and eventually we get it right. That’s what building race cars is all about 👍
New videos from Cleetus make me Beetus my Meetus
holy fuck
Awesome beats when you were tearing down the rear subframe.
Looks like you forgot your ice cold Bartle Skeet which is why you messed up
Cooper being helpful at 1:48
1jDrifter He lmfao touching the rotor
These videos help those of us without race cars to live the race car life through these videos the good and the bad times. Been watching since the first video and I hope to see you make a 7 second pas
Hey Cleetus, not every video is gonna be screamin' bald eagles and tire smoke in our faces, just keep on keepin' on brother and you'll make it happen. Do it for Dale!
Really shows the ebb and flow of owning/working on your own race car. Love the content brother
you can definitely get that bellhousing welded back together. no idea if that's kosher with tech or not but, it can absolutely be done
Cleetus do you not see the problem with going back to a clutch that can't handle the bald eagles ? Custom Torque tube is your answer.
I would have thought you had a scatter shield on the car when you went up on power. We use blankets on the automatics also.Seen some scary things when clutch or trans blows!
Ive seen a fly wheel half way through the floor board.....thats a thing of nightmares
matt sez 1975 at the Dixie Nationals our SSIauto Duster blew the trans.Springs were in the headliner. We had just got one of the first transbrakes from TurboAction.Pressures really went up.
I'm only making 255 hp, and 275 Tq(stock), but I built it for what I have to install on my LQ4 twin turbo, cam, and other parts. With that said put a Quick Time bell housing on that beast !
left to get some 2% milk because i know Dale would be proud
That sucks dude! No clutch is strong enough for the Bald Eagles that Leroy makes! I always enjoy the build videos. Can’t wait to see the new clutch go in! Good look on your run for 7s! Pretty soon people will be saying “Do it for Cleetus!”
-Merry Christmas and DO IT FOR DALE!
I’m sure I speak for most of us when I say that we don’t just come to your channel to watch race videos , we come to watch the shenanigans and struggles it goes into building a car from the smiles to the tears we want to know what all goes into it
I like seeing owners working on as well as racing their cars. Keep doing it for Dale.
I've been watching Leroy videos since you put the supercharger on, these are just the trails of being your own service tech!!! kool videos keep em coming! cant wait to see high 6's from the savage good luck all the way from Toronto Canada🇨🇦👍👍
Hey Cletus I just wanted to say thank you for the videos it was really cool to watch you put the clutch in and learn how it works and a little bit of how not to make it work but like you said it really wasn't your fault it just didn't fit right so thanks for that learning curve that I didn't have to pay for LOL take it easy man I love the car I love what you guys do and always do it for Dale😎
Damn man keep your head up, you live & you learn. Leroy is going to come back meaner than ever!
grab myself a glass of milk ? i think not. i shall grab a 2L of bartyl skeet.
Keegan Spencer ola fellow vqnationer
That blows. At least they work with you. Enjoy watching all the vids. Keep them coming.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Have a safe and happy New Years!
1000+ views in 7 minutes... keep it up bro!
Cleetus you have the perfect temperament and attitude toward racing and the carnage and set backs that go along with it. Guitarmacrybaby should watch your channel to learn how to be classy.
Honestly brother moments like these you will look back and laugh about. Stuff happens, like you said you can pay someone else to get it done. But you choose to take the right way learn your car and learn from your mistakes. Good job man I honestly want to be able to experience stuff like this one day when I start my build after I finish my degree here at Texas State University. Do it for dale brother! Cant wait to see that 7 second pass!
I had something similar happen with a Mcleod twin disc clutch in my C6Z. One of the clutch discs was spinning on the torque tube input shaft and destroyed the splines on the input shaft. The discs seemed to be fully engaged on the splines, but I think the separator plate was warped due to heat and it caused one of the discs to never fully disengage.
Cleetus, Love your vids....it's good to see you work on your stuff and not spend big $$$$ to have someone else do it.
Its not fantastic that you have to face all the problems mate but cheers for pioneering the way for all us car enthusiasts!
Thanks from your aussie watchers :)
I love videos where everything goes to shit lmao, its so realalistic to what actually working on cars is like. A lot of youtubers make everything look so easy and flawless but 50% of the time everythings going down the shitter when working on cars in real life lmao
Always great to watch no matter what.
Hell yeah brother! A youtuber for the viewers! its all a learning experience you've got the perfect attitude to make this thing a rocket man keep it uppppp
I commend you for working on your car, unlike most other big name UA-cam celebrities!
Leroy needs a rear suspension adjustment, the inner tires are worn
Didn't even watch it yet and it's allready getting a thumbs up .. love the vids bud
Good for you; having enough integrity to admit, that you screwed up. I hope you get it up an running soon.
Hey Cleetus, I'm glad that you are going to upgrade that weak bell-housing. I actually cringed when I saw what you were using and how you had to cut into it further weakening it in the previous video. Things always happen for a reason, and I'm glad that this issue will lead to you getting the proper parts for Leroy, especially replacing that old bell-housing.
7:54 people go all in and your going all out !!
Its actually pretty fun to watch. Seeing parts break and knowing I won't have to pay to fix it 😀
Thanks for the Pro Tip! Guna put that to use!
I disagree when you say that these last videos weren't the best to watch. I like that worked on the car yourself. I don't know how many things I have broken myself. Like you said, you just have to learn and move on. It takes courage to post videos like these and I appreciate them.
Like these videos it shows the reality of having a race car!
Good stuff! It's nice to see both the good and the bad of the whole process. One of the best ways to get good at something is to mess up a few times! I have definitely messed up a car of mine before. I personally slipped while trying to slowly crack open the valve on my cherrypicker while putting my engine in and opened it all the way.. dropping the engine into the bay and smashing some AC lines... 1 week before driving that car to Texas from Washington... in August... and I didn't have time or money to mess with fixing it, so I just ripped out the AC compressor (because it was a civic, so more HP bro..). Haha we all learn things the hard way sometimes.
Anyhow, I love your vids Cleetus! You are definitely one of my top favorite youtubers!
So grateful for these daily videos
the videos are great with all the problems that you guys run in to. That's what makes them great to watch!! Having everything perfect every time, is unrealistic.
Good stuff! One of the best youtube channels for sure!
I love these videos. I learned a lot and it shows how it really goes down working on cars.
I love watching u work on Leroy. Yea it sucks that stuff keeps breaking but in time u will get everything working just right! If u get frustrated just remember u are Doing It For Dale! Lol have a good day man! Say hi to Kayla and Cooper for me. :)
do whatever it takes and stick with the triple disc
Would be nice to have the triple disc.
keep the triple disc and get a input shaft that will fit it as well as a new bell housing
sorry but the clutch. yeah, would have been able to correctly guess that, but first clue it was wrong was grinding the bell housing. live and learn.
thanks for the updates
It's going to be alright keep it pushing you're going to get her done
As a payback for all this frustration you will get your seven! And it will feel even better!!
