Would like to see Iryna go past 2metres.
But they had to jump 1.95 to qualify for the final round in Tokyo Olympic. Look like the standard drops after the Olympics
@@tsesck2008 please remember this is a Diamond League event, not the Olympics. Not all the best high jumpers, Lasitskene for example, was not present.
@@jc7671 Probably only Russian jumpers were banned and not able to partcipate. The Olympics silver and bronze medalists Nicola McDermott and Yaroslava Mahuchikhare were present also. And McDermott could not even clear 195.
Can’t wait to see how they do tomorrow in Eugene! Maybe Gerashchenko will join that club. She has a history of doing well at Hayward Field

Geraschenko used to start her approach with a couple of walking steps before breaking into a run. Now she starts off running after leaning back. Deliberate change? Or mandated by the limited available space at this venue? Also Mahuchikh's approach seems faster this year.

Ye but just because you’re tall doesn’t mean you can jump high.
Dutch have tallest men. But Baltic states (Latvia and Lithuania) have tallest women. Ukrainian women are also rather tall (6th place in the world).

After the removal of the Russian athletes, the Mighty ones do not compete, most cannot jump above 2.02, therefore the record of 2.09 will not be broken for a long time.
Lasitskene's best jump was 2.06m, 5 years ago. Her best jumping is behind her. Mahuchikh will beat Lasitskene's personal record in the next 2 years.

@@vjarij Да откуда он взял я и так знаю, оригинал себе оставил. Речь про то, что свой highlights он нарезал не со всеми удачными попытками, о чем выше и написано. Смысл в том, что нахрена что-то херово делать, когда до тебя уже всё нормально сделали.

Maria lost an international meet in early 2022, and lost in national indoor and made only 1.91m. It seems Maria in 2022 is nowhere near her level of 2021. Yaroslava is young, she peaked too early in season in 2021.
