I came here by accident and was attracted by the stunning beauty of the females. Then I started watching the athleticism in the competition. Now I am totally into their athletic feats and the beauty of the young ladies is just a sidebar. I am now a fan of women’s pole vault. It’s wonderful!
I also was only joking it's funny though because I started watching for the same reason pretty girls but then you get sucked into it before you know it 3 4 10 minute videos deep into it
Yes, but my statement stands. Of course I also understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so this is my opinion only. Nevertheless at least four people agree with me.
This DL final was an EPIC battle between Stefanidi, Sidorova and Sandi Morris (who have been the big 3 of the last 5 years in the sport). The fact that from 50:40 onward they were the only 3 remaining going toe to toe , matching each other bar for bar, Sidorova coming in clutch to avoid elimination at 1:02:44, the veteran Stefanidi despite having a shaky season that year eventually managing to claim her 3rd Diamond in a row despite Morris being considered by many the favorite for this final, having won the most meets that year, and seeming destined for her first Diamond League victory after having won the Indoors European gold that same year. But also the respect they have for one another despite being mid competition ( 53:03,1:00:58,1:08:00, 1:08:43, 1:19:19) made this very fun to watch. Also their post match interviews especially Sandi and Stefanidi were very emotional and a perfect ending of what was a very fun year of Pole Vault to follow.
I never thought this could be such an interesting sport until it popped up in my suggested videos. I have never seen more beautiful women in such incredible physical condition.
If you actually follow track and field, you will find that these are truly some of the best athletes but also some of the nicest as well. As someone who has followed womens pole vault in particular due to how interesting the personalities are in the sport currently (Stefanidi's and Morrir's rivalry in particular) , its easy to get drawn in especially if you see them in press conferences etc and how cool they are with each other off the field which you can also see during the competition how they cheer each other on despite being competitors.
Most of them have mastered the art of such beautiful performance. I'd love spending a whole day watching them beautiful artists demonstrating their by no mean feats. Mr. Le Huu Thinh VN
The blonde at the start won the genetic lottery and then decided to put on some muscle, too. Beautiful woman. I had a girlfriend who worked on her pecs because it made her breasts bigger. Which completely works.
They're all beautiful and talented, but Sandi Morris is in a class all by herself. OK, I will admit, the pink hair may have helped, but really, Sandi stands out beyond the rest.
I felt so bad for Bengtsson. The last video I saw her in was the World Championships when she broke a pole and had to ask to borrow one from a competitor (then cleared on her 3rd try). That attempt at the opening height had close to 2 feet of clearance and she just didn't get deep enough into the pit. What a grueling sport....
Such brave athletes! I really enjoyed watching them compete to win the 100m dash in this video. The athleticism was very impressive and had my complete attention.
These women are so athletic. I bet they would do great in some olympic type sport involving a lot of runing or jumping or maybe one of those pole vault activities (?)
I pole vaulted in high school and managed to win a few competitions but one big difference was that when we turned loose of the pole, if it fell into the landing area (broke the "plane" under the bar) it was counted as a miss.
Bullshit. I vaulted in high school in 3 different states , placed third in state my senior year @ 15' 1", and that was never a rule. Where did you vault?
@@tavspop Iowa in the early 1960's when everyone was going to fiberglass poles. Had two uncles who held state records for their class of school between 1956 and 1963, one with a Swedish Steel pole, the later with glass. So, I'll see your Bullshit and raise you ten No One Cares.

It took a couple of clicks, but the country code (ANA) after the Russian's names stand for' Authorized Neutral Athlete'. The Russian team I guess was kicked out of competition for a while due to doping, and only ten athletes were given the status. FYI.
About the beginning of time, around 1970 or '71 while a grad student at ULM, (it was Northeast Louisiana University before it became The University of Louisiana-Monroe) I attended classes three nights a week and plugged national and international news into the local morning newspaper three. other nights a week. During one of the afternoons I had relatively free (I was sunning outside the library, where I largely lived then. Just so I wouldn't be wasting all my time I watched a track meet being held not far from said library and I witnessed a Florida-born kid named John Pennel become before a few score witnesses the first man to pole vault over a 17-foot bar. Magical. It was a local event so I didn't put it in the paper myself. I didn't check but maybe someone else did. The Sports Editor perhaps?
I was a vaulter in high school in the 60's and remember the name John Pennel. By the early 1970's there were high school kids clearing 16' at meets all over the country. Fiberglass poles made a huge difference.
@@ytubepuppy Absolutely. Pennel had just gone to the more flexible pole himself. Now the women vaulters are up over 15 feet. Of course they measure on the metric scale, which means nothing to us: 4.75 meters. Wow (snore).
