@ 9:00 when he talks about the water being collected for steam trains in the past but not sure what for. This is a guess but I wonder if the water in the stream/channel was used to fill a between track water trough so that steam trains running on the straight collected water while running express without stopping when coming up/ down. Remembering until the 1950’s on weekends these tracks would often have trains every 5/10 minutes with holiday traffic and you could not afford to stop them at stations to fill tender tanks.
Thanks Neil&Jack. We have a small slip on our hill which is being pinned and netted. It's about 20m tall and 7m wide. It's taken the company over two years of closing the road each and everyday to complete the work. Total amateurs compared what is being undertaken in Dawlish. I'm gong to arrange for them to get the link to your videos.
It's amazing how quickly the vegetation grows back, even on the cliff face. In a few months, there'll be little evidence of Jack's team's work. These videos make a great historical record of the work undertaken 👏🏻
Very interesting update. Is there a time frame for refencing and opening the path just below lee mount across the tunnel portal onto the main road going up out of Dawlish?

Makes you really realise what a gargantuan feat it was for IKB to install the original line. Fantastic video as always. Thank you.
Fascinating work done by Jack and the team thanks to Neil for a wonderful view of the area

Hi, We cover this a little in part 2 but that area is under Teignbridge control and it's up to them.
