Hi , thanks for the videos , today was my first day as SOC analyst , thanks you for all the past blogs such as home lab that you had shared it really helps me alot. Hope to see more cloud security content from you ☺️
Congrats Day. I'm so happy you found a role that you really enjoy and I am a HUGE fan of cloud. Any information you can keep providing is appreciated. Really happy for you. Well done! I am trying to transition as a new grad into Cloud/vuln management/Ethical Hacking so any information you have is appreciated.
Just wanted to stop by to congratulate you on all of your success Day! You’ve helped me out tremendously🙌🏽 I recently landed a cybersecurity specialist role with a multinational law firm. My desire within this security industry is become a cloud security engineer sooner or later😄
Congrats bro. Watched your journey and still watching and you're an inspiration. Currently trying to learn python but I keep falling asleep lol. Do you think a deep dive study for aws saa cert covers a lot of what is needed to branch to cloud security?
Here’s a video on that: ua-cam.com/video/vcou1eo2Qrc/v-deo.html Also here’s my Amazon shop that has all of my setup including my desk: www.amazon.com/shop/daycyberwox
Do you have any laptop recommendations to get started in studying for a cloud career .. I will go for A+ N+ S+ and learn python along with the CompTIA certs then I plan on working on AWS and Linux . And want a good laptop to have long term any tips ?
Tbh, any laptop would be good. Just look out for 8-16 GB of RAM, enough storage that fits your personal preference, longevity and good battery life. I have a custom built PC as well as a MacBook
Most cloud security certs are very theoretical so I’d recommend rather learning the cloud architecture then doing labs around them. Check out my learn to cloud security guide for a full breakdown: learntocloud.guide/#/phase5/README A
Hi Day! What sort of skills are necessary to be a security engineer at DataDog? As a cloud security engineer, do you need to know certain skills in the cloud? IAM? FW?
Dope video bro! Currently in the middle of a career change right now, I’m ultimate goal is to become a security engineer, working on my sec+ right now, does your job require coding skills?
To some extent yes but not mandatory. Generally understanding code is important but for other security engineering roles, knowing how to code might be mandatory.
Hey do you have any advice for someone is wants to go down a similar path as someone like yourself and needs a starting point for a first job? like what certifications should i get, what are some good starting jobs?
I’d definitely learn the fundamentals first (Linux, networking, scripting) and then build on that. I have a couple of videos on my channel highlighting my journey (ua-cam.com/play/PLDqMNdDvMsRlKahJA7q513Ep8D9Is153P.html) and have more in the pipeline for breaking into this specific field
Hey bro, do you think the best way for a new grad (graduating next year) to get into cloud security engineering is land a cloud engineer role first, since that may be more attainable to land coming out of school, and then transition to cloud security?
Great vid, been interested into looking in to the cloud. I start an internship next week for a cybersecurity company , do you have any tips for me to transition from an internship to a role with the company ? I'm really hoping they take me on after !

Did you have an IT experience before getting into this role? Do you have any certs? I am also trying to get into a similar role.

Thanks Craig! I’ll definitely be posting more videos regarding it!
Thank you.
Great to see you doing wonderfully in your new position, Day! Your enthusiasm is infectious. BTW, I would love more videos on detection engineering!
Thanks Micah!! Definitely have more videos coming!
Valuable content man. It’s been a privilege to watch your career growth. Idk how you don’t have 100k subscribers on UA-cam already
Thanks my guy!
Been following your career for the last year or so. You are smashing it. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Lee!

Thanks!
I’d say the architectural aspect of it is definitely a good start and a great foundation to build on for the rest of what’s security.
🤝 Thank you
How would you rate the wgu cc program. Did it fully prepare you to make your transition.
I actually haven’t fully done the program, I was supposed to but there were changes in my plans
Great vid sir, congrats again on the new role. Did you ever get to tag your desk / chair setup ? That would be great. Thanks

Definitely is!

Love your explanation of the difference between the analyst and engineer mindset. Great video!
Thanks Nicole!
Dope video, Day! Keep it up!
Thank you!
For Cloud security engineering role, which domain is high demand? GCP, AWS, Azure?
They’re all in high demand. AWS has the largest market share though so more demand.
In either role, do you code a lot? If so, what languages do you use?
I don’t do softer development level coding but a lotta things are automated w python and other things are done w mark up languages.
