tell ya this about marino: when my kid was a boy we sent a card to dan in the mail via c/o the miami dolphins. dan signed it and returned it in the mail. it meant a lot to my boy. it was class act of an athlete. marino is still a favorite of my son to this day. this is a class man. thx4post!
Same here, I have an authographed Fleer trading card from dan back in 1992. Dan is the man, and Ace Ventura is my favorite movie. You'll NEVER SEE LEBRON SEND A FAN A HAND SIGNED TRADING CARD EVER!
@@miamimagicians So what if he never sends a kid an autographed card; he has put kids through college and has helped open up a school. By the way, LeBron probably has sent lots of kids cards, but he can't obviously fulfill all requests. As a kid, I liked lots of athletes, but my life never hung in the balance based on whether they sent me a card or acknowledged my existence.
Best quarterback ever. Insane velocity, quick release, crazy accuracy, ability to read the defense and find the open man. Prime Dan Marino has no equal. I'm talking about raw talent, not how many wins or super bowls his team had... or didn't have...
1. Marino 2. Montana 3. Elway 4. Brady 5. Manning 5. Unitas 6. Staubach 7. Kelly 8. Fouts 9. Farve 10. Bradshaw QBs are given too much credit for winning SBs bc it depends too much on the whole team, coaches, and how teams match up with each other. Otherwise that’d put Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien, and Jeff Hostetler in the all time great category. Match ups mean a lot too, more than who’s at quarterback. Marino’s Dolphins kicked the Bears ass who destroyed the Patriots in the SB...so then how’d the Dolphins lose to NE in the AFC championship?! That’s what drives me nuts about college voting. That logic doesn’t hold water. Marino’s accuracy, arm strength, football IQ, and quick release puts him at #1 in my book. Unfortunately, he never had a great all around team supporting him. Plus, the rules weren’t stacked in his favor like nowadays...
What a great passer Marino was. Pro-Football Reference does a study to show the Value that a QB gives to his team in the Reg. Season and Marino is in the Top 10 in the Reg. Season. They also did a study for the playoffs.
The P-F-R study determined that Marino gave his team a NEGATIVE VALUE in 10 playoff games and a Value in the single digits in 2 others. Dan's overall Value was a terrible NEGATIVE 156.
Favre's Value was 302, Warner 422, Staubach 461, Aikman 527, Young 580, Elway 767, Bradshaw 903, and Montana 1292. This study was done in '08 and never updated, so no Brady, Manning, etc. Again, Marino was NEGATIVE 156 so in other words Favre's Value was 458 points HIGHER than Marino's in the playoffs.
@markjefferson2434 you're seriously either trolling or don't have an IQ above a cucumber. Nobody, not even die hard Dolphins fans believe that stupid shit. The real 🐐 is Tom Brady!!
Agreed......Marino never won a Super Bowl..(Ps....no running game or defense...and look at his numbers...)....BUT.....kept one of the best defenses to ever win a Super Bowl from going undefeated....the 86 Chicago Bears.... If he was playing now...? Brady, who??
Exactly. Winning SBs doesn’t not define greatness for QBs. It’s only 1 aspect. The whole team, coaching, matchups, injures all matter way more. Drives me nuts how ppl make it seem like QBs win them on their own, ignoring the other 51 players and coaching staff involved.
Marino played in today’s game .....he’d be throwing for 500 yards every game. No joke. He’d throw 6k yards and 60 something touchdowns a year. It wouldn’t even be close. And also in today’s game ....it wouldn’t matter as much that he has no defense and no running back...it really wouldn’t matter. It would but not like it used to matter. Marino and the team itself could overcome those handicaps far more easily in today’s game. He’d be like Tiger was in golf all those years. No matter how good anyone else is playing he’d still be a mile ahead.

He did the same for me when I was a kid. I still have it in a frame on my bedroom wall. : )

Martina Dejaquiz lenny dawson did the same thing for me when he was a reporter for a station in KC. Some of these guys are awesome people

@JL-XrtaMayoNoCheese Manning is the best ever
@JL-XrtaMayoNoCheese Casual.
Brady is the GOAT. The argument stopped after five Super Bowls.
This is the worst list I’ve ever seen

Dan is the man! By far the best qb to play the game! A true champion!!!!!!
Can Tom Brady play 5 more years? Dan Marino "I don't know about that" Well we are about to find out if he can have a decent year in the 5th year.
They couldn't get that running game on par. No superstar needed but it was Duper or Clayton all day.
The best quarterback all
Time. Period....
Laces out dan marino
why do they need 4 extra people with laptops sitting with them?
omar66277 to look up stats and information

Brady who? You mean the Tom Brady guy with 6 rings?
It didn't matter if the dolphins had a run game or defense, Marino was still gonna take the game in his hands throwing the ball
One.
