@@CesarPerez-it8xy No hate but you are obviously not aware of all the offensive changes that have taken place since 1993. You can google it your self but you are 100% wrong about the rules being the same. FACTS
@@CesarPerez-it8xy Just because YOU say it does not mean it's true. The following are rule changes since you do not understand: 1993: It is not intentional grounding when a passer, while out of the pocket and facing an imminent loss of yardage, throws a pass that lands beyond the line of scrimmage, even if no offensive player has a realistic chance to catch the ball (including if the ball lands out of bounds over the sideline or end line). 1995: When tackling a passer during or just after throwing a pass, a defensive player is prohibited from unnecessarily and violently throwing him down and landing on top of him with all or most of the defender’s weight. 2002: It is illegal to hit a quarterback helmet-to-helmet any time after a change of possession. 2006: Low hits on the quarterback are prohibited when a rushing defender has an opportunity to avoid such contact. 2009: Clarified rule regarding low hits on passers: A defender cannot initiate a roll or lunge and forcibly hit the passer in the knee area or below, even if he is being contacted by another player. This is known as the “Brady rule,” because it was implemented after Brady was knocked out for the entire 2008 season. If you’re comparing quarterbacks from earlier eras to today’s, it’s worth remembering that many older QBs had their careers shortened by plays the NFL would severely penalize today. Steve Young’s career ended because of a brutal hit from Aeneas Williams that knocks him out. Thanks you for allowing me to provide some facts to further confirm my original list. You should present facts when trying to make a comment.

Before Brady there WAS football. In that era from 1984-1998, Montana easy number 1. But number two is tough. I’m a die hard Broncos fan from before their first SB against Dallas. So I’m a good person to have a take on this: Loved Elway! Jumped up and down when we got Elway. But those first 5 years, Dan was better than Elway. No question. Dan was an assassin. Elway would throw two interceptions and fumble. Then he’d construct a drive in the last minutes or OT for a thrilling win. Dan just beat your azz in 4 quarters. Dan is the best passer the game has ever seen. Joe Namath number 2. Quick, accurate, ESPECIALLY with the long ball. Today’s dink and dunk sh!t puts me to sleep
But why only 1 Ring Dan-the '84 Conf. Champ. Why-because of the way he played in the other 3 championship games. He had 4 TD's but 6 INT's, a Comp.% of UNDER 50%, an avg. Passer Rating of UNDER 60, and he led his Offense to an avg. of only 12 p.p.g. How can a team win championships when their QB is playing like that ??
False. He played in 3 AFC championship games and he still holds the conference championship record throwing 421 yards and 4 TDs. In the other 2 championship games he had a total of 4 TD passes dropped that ended up in Zero points. It's obvious you just look up stats and never even watched those playoff games. Also in the 1995 playoffs vs Buffalo, his receivers had 10 passes dropped in 1 playoff game which is also a postseason record with most drops. Cant have good passer rating, completion percentage, TDs, etc when you receivers keep dropping passes. Marino is the greatest QB I've ever seen
I wish Dan would of had a decent running back during his career at the Dolphins. Too bad Barry Sanders wasn't a Dolphin or Marino wasn't a Lion. As great as he was you need a well rounded team to get to or even win the big one.

Anyone who thinks 4-2 is worse than 4-0 is ridiculous. If you told me i could go to the bowl 6 times vs 4 times and both options include me winning 4 im all about the 6
Jimmie gave him the defense but it was too late. Marino was already on the steady decline. Either way Miami hasn’t been the same quality level since then.

Marino, Elway and Montana played in the "real" football era. If they took Toms spot and career They would have SMASHED TOM BRADY'S body of work. THE CORNERS CANT BE TOUCHED TODAY!! And the qbs are protected way better. And Jordan is better than Lebron (ITS THE ERA)

Coaches can coach all day long but if the players don't take it in it doesn't matter. Players are always the difference
Dan & Dan...Dandy..!!!
comparing qbs directly based on their teams performance is very unfair. Brady and Montana had a top10 defense vs points in all of their SB wins. Brady had the #4 defense and #1 offense vs points in their 07-08 loss is embarrassing.
He's great, don't know if he's the best. The best single I have ever seen, is when he basically beat the Bears in 85 by himself
That's what made him the BEST. He was by himself, EVERY GAME. Everyone knew what he was going to do (pass), and they still couldn't stop it. No run game, no defense either.
1 Joe Montana (The GOAT)
2 Dan Marino
3 John Elway
4 Aaron Rogers
5 Steve Young
6 Tom Brady
7 Peyton Manning
1-5 would dominate in any era. Brady would have struggled in the 80's. Can you imagine Montana and Marino playing now with all these QB friendly rules? Millennial fans have no clue. Brees is second all time in stats, that is laughable.
Tom brady played in the early 2000s. Rules where the same as 80s and 90s. Stop the hate.
@@CesarPerez-it8xy No hate but you are obviously not aware of all the offensive changes that have taken place since 1993. You can google it your self but you are 100% wrong about the rules being the same. FACTS
@@rsp49 you where still able to blast the quarterback up until 2010. Look up the nfc championship game. Bounty gate. So no.
@@CesarPerez-it8xy Just because YOU say it does not mean it's true. The following are rule changes since you do not understand:
1993: It is not intentional grounding when a passer, while out of the pocket and facing an imminent loss of yardage, throws a pass that lands beyond the line of scrimmage, even if no offensive player has a realistic chance to catch the ball (including if the ball lands out of bounds over the sideline or end line).
@@rsp49 right!! Just look at the game man. From 91 to 2010 bret favre area. They did not protect the qb like they do today. Those ticky tack rules you mentioned are crap and rarely affected qb. Like change of possession hits to qb
Marino quickest release I've seen-that includes Namath
Marino and Brady have the same amount of superbowl rings without cheating.
@Peter Angles No argument to be made dummy just a fact
@Peter Angles haha brady lost
My childhood friend's dad played for the Dolphins and he'd go with his family to Dan Marino's house for Thanksgiving some years. Great reason for me to be jealous of him.
Montana stinks. Over rated.
Top 5 qb of all time
Selling leather gloves, living in Miami.... Gotta love the 80's
Dan's a great guy.
Best QB ever.
How many HOF QBs threw this guy the ball??
If he played in today's NFL, he would be the only qb to get 6000 yds/ 60 tds,
Goat
Dan THE MAN is the BEST I DONT CARE ABOUT THE RING
Look at the MAN
2 decade stats
Oh God I remember the Isotoner gloves I always wanted to get some for the holidays
I never realized what a Pittsburgh accent he has, reminds me of my grandpa from Pittsburgh (Z"L)
THE GOAT!!!!
He flinched as soon as he let the ball go!
Marino should have left Miami89/90ish look how they repaid his loyalty and it's not as if they won anything once they stabbed Marino in the back Dan has !Miami in his blood
Too bad he never had a running back. He would have won one.
His chance at a super bowl was 1998 with Vikings. No offense to Randall.
Jonthan Olivo lol wrong you mean 2000 with the Vikings
Brady and all of todays QBs wouldn't have lasted long against the Ds of the 80s and 90s. ...and astroturf.
Anyone who thinks 4-2 is worse than 4-0 is ridiculous. If you told me i could go to the bowl 6 times vs 4 times and both options include me winning 4 im all about the 6
Cus hulk hogan lives in florida too?
Imagine if they gave Dan a top 10 Defense and a top 10 defense....
Plus a stud of running back. Never had that back when he played.
Love that Dan agrees Joe Col is Greatest QB Ever
The word was "predicated" not "premised" Dan, but you're still the greatest QB not to win. a SB.
Thank you Ms. Shakespeare
Dan Marino-The Joe Montana of the South!!
I remember when he was the Quarterback for the Miami dolphins.
Can’t believe how Shula or Jimmie couldn’t give him a running game or a def in his whole career. Sad to waste such a magnificent talent.
I am still scratching my head over that too.
Jimmie gave him the defense but it was too late. Marino was already on the steady decline. Either way Miami hasn’t been the same quality level since then.
WHAT A GREAT ERA FOR FOOTBALL. TRULY A SHAME ABOUT THE CLASS OF THE PLAYERS TODAY. THEY WOULDN'T STAND UP, SO I WILL NOT SIT DOWN. THEY ALSO HARASSED PLAYERS THAT DID NOT WANT TO GO ALONG WITH THEIR INSANITY. THERE WERE ALSO TO QB'S THAT THEY INTENTIONALLY LET GET HIT, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO GO ALONG WITH THEIR BULL CRAP...................NEVER WATCHING AGAIN
Dan Patrick literally just said he wasn't a great quarterback but he won the two games so yeah you should be in the Hall of Fame. Uhhh...what?
He's a stupid old POS
Best QB never to win a SB. Now if my Steelers, and his home town would've drafted him , I think, I mean I'm pretty sure he would have at least two, if not more rings on his hand. Just sayin'...
How disrespectful to say Elway over Montana! With respect Elway is not as good as their Marino or Montana.
Damn that ball had a lot of zip to it. He wasn't even warmed up.
Dan, Should Madonna Be in The Rock Roll Hall of Fame?
im confused whly did Dan shy away from the is brady better than montana question??? Also, Dan Marino and Johnny Unitas are the top 2 BEST quarterbacks of all time with Manning at 3rd. But, when it comes to greatest which brings in acholades and playoffs success obviously brady is 1st with montana 2nd.
Plunkett should be in,,
Roosevelt Green absolutely
💯💯💯
Dan licks his fingers after the last pass lmao, old habits die hard
Dan Marino is too modest to admit he was way better qb than Brady.
Marino knows Brady is far better.
@@mikepelligrino6329 How do you come to that conclusion? Brady is great in this era, where no one is allowed to even graze the QB, whereas Dan played when QBs were routinely pummeled. Would Brady have thrived as well under those rules? Maybe, but he would not have the numbers he has accumulated in this sissy era.
@@watchmanonthewall14 Brady is the GOAT. It was up for discussion before Brady added 4 more SB's. Not even a discussion now.
@@mikepelligrino6329 The entire argument of GOAT for any team sport is actually silly and stupid, since there is no way to prove it. It's all opinion, based on how we look at it.
@@watchmanonthewall14 Of course its opinion but I dont see it as silly or stupid.
Imagine someone thinking Elway was better than Joe cool lol who is this guy. Anyway Marino better passer than either so moot
For you youngsters, there is film of this man being hit helmet to face mask full force a couple of steps after the throw w no penalty flag! There is also film of roughing Brady without him being touched...
winning the super bowl shouldn't be a big criterion for hall of fame status
i'd like to see dan patrick sit there and be told that stephen a smith is better then him
Staubach, Montana, Unitas all great when you could get hit. Staubach and Unitas played when they would mug the receivers coming off the line and sometimes on the way back to the huddle.
