- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the latest superhero game which was developed the creators of the Batman Arkham Games, Rocksteady. In this Video shows a direct comparison of graphics, physics and what you can expect from each Game.
Batman: Arkham Knight was released in 2015 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released in 2024, it makes these two games 9 years apart. So use that as a metric to see how much graphics and physics have developed over the years.

Arkham knight has its flaws storywise, but compared to suicide squad, it looks like the damn Godfather.
Ak had a great story. The only bad moments were Jason's spoilers, that's literally it
AK's flaws weren't the story, it was the overuse of the Batmobile with the absurd number of tank battles and the lack of real boss fights; Especially when you consider that City and especially Origins had some pretty decent bosses

Knight runs amazing on my 4 year old i5 1050 laptop. Only things I have to turn down is the simulated smoke and debris.

Arkham Knight made Gotham feel alive. The atmosphere, the lighting the little thug chatter. The little DC Easter eggs and references on EVERY street.
In comparison, SS feels like a desolate cartoon toyland. Seriously, does it look like an actual city to you?

I'm glad you're doing this. Because Arkham knight deserves to be compared to Suicide Squad, just so people understand what Rocksteady was. Nothing compares to what the OG accomplished.
It's funny because in its day I don't really recall arkham knight being adored. Maybe because of the rocky launch state, worse story than city (not bad but didn't maintain the extremely high quality I'd say), and people's concerns over the batmobile. But looking back, oh boy was the gameplay incredible. They really did follow through on "be the batman".

i feel like 2014-15-16 were the years we got peak graphics then everything was downgraded after that. AC unity, Batman AK, Titanfall 2, Dying light, Witcher 3, Tomb raider, Star wars Battlefront, battlefield 1, Doom 2016, gears 4.

The biggest difference is one was made for investors and the other made out of passion
If Knight was made out of passion then it wouldn't have sucked so much and been the only sucky game in the series. Nobody should blame Rocksteady for this, obviously they were forced to make this kind of game and it just didn't work, no wonder so many people left.

Unreal Engine 3 game being visual better than many Unreal Engine 5 games. That game was years ahead of it's time in terms of graphical fidelity and presentation
I use UE5 and I used UE3 is not the engine, is the lazy incompetent people that is being hired nowadays.
It's funny because i played Arkham Knight on release and the graphics were good but in that year i thought that those graphics were going to be the standard for PS4/Xbox/PC... i didn't realize that it would turn to be a new "crysis" of sorts

And then you have Unreal Engine 4 games like Callisto Protocol, FF VII Remake, or Gears 5 that look 10x times better than Unreal 5. Proprietary engines are by far the best though. They are unique in comparison to Unreal where all games look the same

Exactly why I don't play games using those engines, cause those games ore often lazy and aren't as good overall as games that use inhouse engine.
@@Johnny.1994 To me the best you can currently get is RE Engine. Looks really good, has the most realistic hair with hair strands in RE4R and has insanely good performance. Even with my AMD GPU I could play RE4R at max settings in 4k INCLUDING RT with 90+ FPS.

I think it's important to remember that the Rocksteady of today is not the same Rocksteady from a decade back
The best of the talent have moved on and formed their own studios
That being said whoever is hiring their replacements need to be fired
Just looking at the UI makes me realise competence is no longer the criterion for recruitment

In basically all ways, even down to deliberate cherrypicking. I mean, you don't need any effort to make Suicide Squad look worse than Arkham Knight, but I do find it weird how the last example is a barren and uninteresting road in SS and the single most destroyed and detailed road in AK. Likewise, AK suffers from occasional pop-in and stuttering, and I can't tell if SS does so too, because noone ever compares these aspects.
I'm not saying that SS is better than AK, I'm not blind and stupid. But I can't shave off the feeling that some of these comparisons are kinfd of rigged in AK's favor

I can't stand how everything in Suicide Squad looks like it's made of sugar. You touch it and it disintegrates. There's also no sense of physics, like in many of these modern games. Look at how the car explodes when Harley Quinn shoots it and compare it to how things explode in GTA IV and V.

Suicide squad makes sense when you consider that this is pretty much a reputation suicide.
Batman AM was ahead of its time. As time progressed, game graphics got better, but years later in 2019 and 2020 games started looking hyper realistic. Like look at MW19 running on a PS4, compared to ghosts which was a launch title. This game however, was just years ahead in graphics. Just the amount of detail that went into this is mind blowing.
it wasnt ahead of its time many games looked just as good in not better (ac unity, tf2, witcher 3, bf1) but then devs became lazy and started social experimenting to see how bad they could make their game before people stop buying them

The few fanboys who actually bought it like it. Nobody else bought it. It has 12 thousand played on launch. The original Counter Strike from 2000 has more than that daily. Haha
I think some people are confusing graphics with game design/stylization. Arkham Knight clearly had more direction and development in those areas, and actually aimed at realistic graphics. But looking at the graphics engine itself, Suicide Squad does have better graphics. It's just difficult to tell because this game is all over the place. Vegetation, texture quality, anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering is where you're gonna notice the improvements. It all comes down to the art direction though, SS went for a much more 'arcade' look, while Arkham created a dark and realistic setting. That's why it looks better.
You’re exactly right. Arkham knight also had baked lighting aswell as only taking place at night. When the game showed daytime with Gordon it looked horrible because the poor texture work and saturation was highlighted. Fog,filters, road textures etc. ss also has day night cycle.

These standards usually translates to the exclusion of white men, while putting trans, gays, whites *only* in interracial relationships, sexualizing children, demonizing white history etc. on a pedestal as the perfect standard. If you don't adhere to those standards then big investment companies like Blackrock and Vanguard will not want to have anything to do with your company because of its social credit score. These standards ofcourse have been pushed to the broad public through advertising, entertainment and other avenues for years no to the point where nobody recognizes it as abnormal. These standards are typically set by people hellbent on steering the world into a direction they see fit. These people are big names like Klaus Schwab, Bloomberg, Zuckerberg, Epstein, Rothschild's, George Soros, and oddly enough have very similar sounding names but I'm sure that's just an odd coincidence.

Arkham Knight had an unmatched feeling of recent occupation by regular people. I think it was roughly 12 hours before the start of the game the entire city was evacuated and then quarantined so the only people actually running around were thugs but it made it seem so alive because just a day earlier, people were shopping, walking the streets, hailing cabs, driving around. Trash and detritus litter the streets because everyone had to quite literally drop what they were doing and leave 5 minutes ago.

The first was made by a team of passionate creators that are now long gone to different studios, the second is made by a "diverse" team with galactic lack of respect for the IP not to mention lack of knowledge how to make a good game (in all of its aspects) to begin with. It's fascinating that Arkham Knight was made using Unreal Engine 3 and SSKTJL is a Unreal Engine 4 game, it clearly shows that technology is not the bottleneck here, if you have talented artists and devs then you can make a 9 year old game look like next gen.
