- In this wide ranging interview, we spoke to Ashley Chin aka Muslim Belal on what it's like being a Muslim working in the film industry. Ashley speaks about the pressure he faced thrust into being a "role model" for the youth, how he feels about the negative stereotypes that surround black converts from urban areas, and how the Muslim community lacks serious appreciation for the Arts.
This made me cry. He's speaking from the heart and there is so much to learn from him. Thank you for this interview. Allah bless you all.
Subhanallah.
Thank you habeebi Momodu for doing this episode. I have always loved my brother Muslim Belal from the heart. But wallahi I'm soo hurt to hear the pains he had to go through. Alhamdulillah for where he is now. May Allah bless him and take him from success to success in this life and the next. Ameen. May Allah accept from us all. Ameen.
I remember a friend telling me > ... I too was on the road of losing my identity, acting in a way that I thought was the WAY, and after felt so hypocrite about my self !! Alhamdoulialh! We all have our own journey to Allah! May He guide us! Amine
Bwoy......this has made me cry akh.... subhanallah!
“ I Just love , love “ This episode was a gem ..
This really impacted me in a positive way. It truly all means nothing without love
LOVE RTW❤️🔊
Such an authentic character . Allahumibarik. His wise words resonate and motivated me to take my religion seriously. Words ain’t enough to express his impact on me, and many other Muslims of the millennium era.
This was deep jazakumullahu Khairun
Subhan Allah 🙌🏾as he spoke so many things resonated, especially identity 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 may Allah Azowajal grant them both khair fi dunia wa akhira Aameen
I felt everything he said, I believe when the younger Muslims first started to bring back Quran and sunnah back like 15 so yrs ago they all came in very rigid and strict due to certain politics. My dad was always Quran and sunnah and always would warn me at that stage Islam isn’t meant to be hard, cos at that time we’d be under constant scrutiny for every move. Islam is about love and we can share our beliefs not impose . We try our best to be a better version of ourselves but as Muslims we too busy looking at the next man instead of ourselves
Truth ! I lost my identity when I came to Islam and I found it incredibly difficult accepting that I was ok being me because we start to assimilate Muslim cultures in the UK as we are looking for direction and guidance. I remember when someone said to me "do you cook the halal food?" Yes they meant do I cook a curry 🤦♀️ I am sorry you went through stupid online slander. I had something like this happen to me when I was running sisters support events. I was having my character, intentions and aqeeda questioned when I was just trying to help for the sake of Allah.
HIT THE SPOT FOR ME 🥺❤️
Glad he overcame the obstacles and nasty comments, our relationship is with Allah and guidance we should ask from him.
I really enjoyed this episode. Thank you so much for this.
Beautiful bro! Keep these coming!
This is very deep, I like the content.
I met this brother and performed with him at a small venue in NY many years ago.
Never seen Muslim Belal open up as much before
May Allah bless Imam belal
We all sin and at times criticise ourselves for our sins and at other times try to justify our sins but he shouldn't need to carry the burden of having to justify his actions to others. May Allah grant you guidance, ease and love our brother!
