  • Interview excerpts from 2000 of author Maurizio Viroli, who talks about his book, "Niccolo’s Smile: A Biography of Machiavelli," which is about the founder of modern political thought, Niccolo Machiavelli. Viroli contends that Machiavelli is misunderstood and was the precise opposite of what is often said to be "Machiavellian."
He has an Italian accent and there is a good amount of clothes rustling that is picked up.

I'm tempted to get the guy's book! I stayed awake and listened to the whole thing, pretty interesting.

I have read two of his books and I highly recommend them. They are life changing. “Redeeming the Prince” and “Machiavelli’s God”. Thank you Retox! I would not otherwise have found Viroli and enjoyed in his love and appreciation of Machiavelli.
