The farmers themselves opposed the farm reforms because they lacked minimum guaranteed prices.
No, they were supported by middlemen from Punjab who would lose out on money, if they were sidestepped. Punjab farmers supported bcos they didn't have a choice. BJP had to give in after elections were round the corner.
