Is a 5" wire stripper work ok?
Any size twist on wire connectors ok from hyper tough Walmart brand yellow (cpc-32) ? Says on back.

Seems like that should work. As long as the wire connectors stay on they should be fine. Like once you twist them on make sure you can’t easily pull them loose. Thanks for watching!

I love this one, so detailed!! May I ask why you didn't add a hinge to the back instead?? That's the only thing I would change incase I need to get to the power supply or change out a motor. Good job!!
Thanks for the compliment. I didn’t bother with a hinge because I figured any maintenance like that would be pretty infrequent so popping the screws out wouldn’t have to happen much. It is a good thought though...so far nothing has given out on it thankfully. 🙂
Great video :) Can I ask what you added to the bottom of the pipes to hold onto the tumblers inside?
Thanks for the compliment. As for holding the tumblers my wife has a few things she uses. Pool noodles of various sizes, small nerf footballs can work. I think they actually sell something on amazon that is a pool noodle type material but is actually made for these cup turners...not sure what they are called though.

What wood did you use and what measurements please. Also where are the switches from pleassse
I started with a 2ft by 4ft piece of 3/4 plywood and split it in half so the base is 2ft square. I think the piece the motors are mounted on is about 8 1/4 inches tall. I kind of made it up as I went so I don’t have exact measurements. There is a link to the motors in the video description. Thanks for watching!

This person gave a compliment on the video and asked for the measurements and said thank you before I even provided them. It’s all in the approach my friend.
I like the motors being recessed into the wood. I read that they get hot when being used. I assumed that was why most of the diy projects had them mounted on the back and not recessed. Are you experiencing any heat issues?
We’ve had no issues so far. My wife used the turner a lot when I first built it so they were running off and on all day some days and it was never an issue. It doesn’t get used as much now so I can’t say for sure if the longevity of the motors is being affected in any way.

The link in the video description is the exact motors I used. They come with a cord to plug into a standard 110v outlet...at least in the United States that is.
What size drill bit for the power cord where you ran the switch on top?
I don’t recall exactly, maybe 1/4 inch or 3/8. I made the holes just big enough for the wire to push through. Thanks for watching!

How tall are the boards in the middle to hold the pvc pipes up?
Those pieces were cut at 6.25 niches and then I drilled the half hole using a 1.5 inch diameter bit. The part the pipe is resting on is about 5.75 inches off the base. You have to kind of fit these after you mount the motors and stick a pipe on it since you might have to adjust up or down a little to make sure the pipe is level.
What bit did you use to predrill your 1 5/8" screws?
It’s a 9/64 tapered bit with a countersink. I believe I got it at Home Depot as a set of 3 different size bits. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻

What connector are you using from the motor to connect to the tumbler wands? My build is much messier than this and it's driving me nuts!
I’m using the little couplers that came with the motors...the little brass colored items in this pack. 6PCS Synchronous Motor Turntable Motor 50/60Hz AC100~127V CCW/CW 4W 7mm Flexible Coupling Connector 6ft Power Cord for Cup Turner, Cuptisserie, Tumbler Turner Guide Motor (2.5-3RPM) www.amazon.com/dp/B083XK5GTX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_d1Z.FbVWS31NY. I had to make little wood pieces that I epoxied them into and the epoxied the wood piece into the pvc pipe. Does that help? Thanks for watching!

I watched how you created your own connection and used epoxy. I'll see if I can replicate but I don't have the drill press you have. I am quite sure the hubs will not complain that I want more tools hehe.
I think they might sell those connectors with wands attached already on Amazon...not 100% sure though. Good luck! 👍🏻

Awesome job buddy. Did you put that smaller piece of wood directly behind the motors so they would not be pushed into the inside of the box?
Thanks for the compliment. That piece is actually there to hold things after they are taken off the spinner. So if you had a cup that was done spinning but not 100% dry you unscrew the pipe and stand it vertically through the hole in the top and it sits inside on that shelf. Then you can screw a new pipe on the motor to do another cup or whatever. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

There is another comment that has dimensions. Those things I banged the couplers into are just little round pieces of wood that I shaped to fit in the end of the pvc pipe. I think they actually sell pre made pipe things on Amazon which would have been WAY easier...lol.

The pipe is all 3/4 inch pvc parts. The wood is 3/4 inch plywood and the back is 1/4 acrylic. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Final dimension is probably about 23.75 inches wide by 9.5 inches tall...give or take some each way depending on how exact your measurements are to what I built.
The dimensions are that of the acrylic. The turner is 23.75 inches wide and the back is around 9.5 inches tall. So to cover the back you would need a piece cut to that size. Hope that helps. 🙂

What materials did you use???

How much do you charge for the unit .
I don’t actually take orders or build them to sell. My wife wanted one so I figured I would build it rather than buy one. To recover my time plus materials I’d probably have to charge more than anyone would want to pay. Thanks for watching!

For what part? I used a few different bits on this project.

I used a 2 inch forstener bit. The holes were just a bit big though. I think the motor diameter is probably a metric size. But 2 inch worked out fine for me. Once you add screws to hold the motors in they seem fine.

They are 6.25 inches tall...the bottom of the hole is 5.75 inches from the base. The hole is 1.5 inches in diameter. The height you make them will depend on the height of the motor and how big the pvc pipe you use is. Hope this helps!

There is a link to the motors in the video description. Those are the key ingredient of course. The wood is all 3/4 plywood and a couple pieces of 3/4 poplar but you could use 3/4 plywood for the little support pieces under the pipe...I just ran out of plywood so i used what I had on hand. The pvc is all 3/4 inch stuff. The clear back is 1/4 inch acrylic and I think there is a link to that in the video description too. 1 5/8 inch screws. I think that is about it. Like a lot of people I don't have the $$$ to drop almost 3 grand on that table. I thought I might be able to make my own turner until I click on the links.
I assume you mean the table saw? You don’t need the table saw to make this. I used it because i have it. A circular saw and straight edge can make nice straight cuts too. I have another video on making a pretty simple edge guide for a circular saw. Thanks for watching.
I love this design, but it has no dimensions of anything; very difficult to eyeball the exact dimensions of your project. I looked on the comments, but still not very descriptive on the comments about the exact measurements. It would have been very helpful like you put the materials you used, to have all the exact measurements/dimensions of each piece of wood/plywood.
I pretty much built this sort of “on the fly” so i didn’t have exact dimensions for all the parts/cuts/etc planned out. I know the measurements in one of the other comments are not down to the fine detail but I think there is enough there to get the general idea. Putting together detailed plans takes a lot of time and since I’m just a hobbiest it is hard to justify. Someday maybe if I have more free time i will start doing that but for now it’s mostly just putting the videos out there as inspiration/entertainment. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻

I don’t have any plans to sell. The motors I used are listed in the video description. I believe there are also measurements for most of it listed in other comment responses. I don’t usually work from plans...I just make it up as I go based on a general vision in my head. 🙂

Making detailed plans with measurements and providing all the instruction takes way more time than I can dedicate to it. Maybe someone sees the video and gets an idea or a little inspiration to go try to build their own stuff. Maybe spend less time criticizing others and focus on positivity…the world could use a little more of that. ✌️
