@@Arsanthania Bionicle was what got me into LEGO, funnily enough. Also yes, I made my Hexbug nano "fight" my Digimon and Pokemon minifigures at some point.

I still couldn’t figure out what it was supposed to do and the internet brought me here. This video was awesome lol thank you!!!!
Taking the "autonomous robot" line even further, I remember the Hexbug line where they made them able to be equipped for battle was SICK. The one time I got to play with Hexbugs, I was enthralled. I wanted to build a massive habitat, taller than me, with hundreds of the little things in it, like an actual full-blown insect hive. Of course, I was like 8, I didn't have that kind of money, but I looked at them on the shelves and dreamed. Went back to Lego soon after, but I actually had Lego. I only got to play with Hexbugs cos I was at a friend's house

Ohhh my gosh the nostalgia wave! The sets were so cool! Especially the construction set, which gave you cells that you could remove the walls off of, and make your own Hive habitat sets, complete with pillars to make multiple stories with! The only issue I ever took with them is that the spiral elevators were always a bit too heavy and prone to falling over.
I'd like to see a "first years vs recent years" analysis video! Also it's nice seeing you add clips of past advertisements or packaging (ex: the hexbug pattern checklist). Kinda gives nostalgia, kinda helps understand the direction products and their marketing went over the years

I loved these things so much. There was really nothing else like them. There is something extremely authentic on what they are selling, just little bugs that run around your hex scape. The thing about these are the fact it doesn't take much effort to make a autonomous bug pet compared to a robotic dog, because just like real bugs, they just run around without a care in the world. And they also buzz like real bugs. These were unforgettable, like the spoung bob of the toy line. Unfortunately I phased out of my obsession, but I am blessed with the remainder of the biggest W of toys. Hex bug supremacy.
