      @civisromanus8917 - This is not quite true in Russian. There is a "tak", from Polish - "yes", meaning consent. But here "tak" means "to do it", it's not really "so-so-so", and perhaps comes from the French and Latin "tact" - touch. When pointing at logical points on a blackboard or in a book, a sheet of music, touching them - "do this, this and this." )) On goban, we point with a finger, a stone, or our eyes at the sequence of moves-"I'll do this, this, and this." It's not "here", not "so" or "like that".

    Thank you for sharing your game with us.
    A tip for highlighting moves. Use the pen tool at 50% transparent and increase the brush size to be the same as the stones. Then you can simply tap the point you want to show like it was a stone (but it will be pink, or blue, whatever color you want.) This is way easier than circling the point you want to play.

  • @spanishmackerel
    @spanishmackerel 4 роки тому

    Dear Go Pro Yeonwoo,
    This is a really fascinating story, and it leaves me wishing for so many more details. Because to someone like me it’s a super mystery about how one becomes a pro. So here are the things that your story left me wondering about:
    What are the differences between the baduk academy you started at age 9 (and how much did that cost), the kiwon you started at 11 (and what are those older men doing there, just hanging out and playing go, like a go salon? Then what does kiwon translate to in English? Was your teacher there one of the old men hanging out smoking and playing go, or was he a pro who taught lessons there to people who wanted them?), and the “for those who want to be pro” Baduk Dojang at age 13? Just different levels of pro teachers and more intense studying? And more expensive for mom and dad?
    Did your parents just tell the school, “we’re pulling her out so she can study to be a go pro,” and the school said, “Okay, no problem, sign these papers?”
    So at 14, while you were at Baduk Dojang you became an insei. How is becoming an insei different from just going to Baduk Dojang, which is already for those who want to become pro? Is there a point after a year where you officially declare, “I am studying to become a pro”?
    So when you became an insei you started playing in the insei league, and what is that, exactly? Do you have to score a certain level before you qualify to take the pro qualification games? Or is there some other way you join those pro player tests, from only which 2 per year can succeed?
    I bet you would have been a fine and successful soccer player, but I’m glad you stuck with go.
    Thank you so much.
