2:32 Because, for now at least, AIs don't have overarching strategies. They analyse the board and find the move that gives them most territory. That's why they keep jumping all over the board. A human player might want to resolve a situation in one part of the board before moving elsewhere (as long as it is in sente), but an AI decides that it can come back later to that position and cover gaps. I think that we will see this kind of behaviour in professional play in a few years, since a lot of people these days are improving their skills by watching how the AI plays.
Was entering this in KaTrain as i was watching the video and it thought that you were ahead by 1.1 points when you resigned. It was very informative watching what the engine was recommending.
Hey Yeonwoo I love your personality... Awesome game, too bad Katago's so strong! Being French the Eiffel towers in the back do ring a bell I hop you enjoyed paris!
1:30 The approach here is really very surprising. At least in traditional Japan, the approach from the live restricted area like the left top has been considered by far the smallest.
Exactly what I thought after this move, it doesn't look for the biggest one since white has no big potential at the top. I would rather expect the aproach from the other side.
With you there are now 3 professionnal female players doing AI challenge (The AI challenge "team": Cho Yeonwoo, Kim Yoonyoung, Lee Ha-jin). Thank you for doing that! Are the male players chickenning out ? Too proud :p ? I am quite sur you know some professional friends to challenge to do so! :)
HI Yeonwoo, nice try! Thanks for the video. I think it would be very interesting and useful to review this game with Katago, with Katago! Let's see what it "thinks" about the game
I feel better about losing to these bots at 5 and 6 stones on my laptop. I can’t even beat an iPad anymore. I find those same moves so irritating! Thanks for showing a pro thought process for how to handle it.
One thing that astounds me here how many of KataGo moves are the kind that is really hard to answer and you have trouble finding move that you can really like. Basically every response I can imagine feels deficient in some way...
This was an object lesson on how to lose a game to an opponent three stones stronger. Apart from the opening sequence in the upper left, Yeonwoo consistently strove to defend territory, particularly in the corners, thereby continually ceding the initiative to the AI. In "Breakthrough to Shodan," Naoki Miyamoto shows the way to win three and four stone handicap games. Let the strong opponent equalize in territory, take thickness in return, and win the middle and endgame on greater thickness. You make this greater thickness by connecting your groups, so the stronger player can't "divide and conquer." This means giving up one or more corners, and playing "high" so that most of your stones are center-facing.
AI is good in moyo breaking, it actually can divide and conquer almost any moyo, so the corners and definite territory are the last and maybe only hope.
Yeonwoo is more than six stones stronger than those shodans who have internalized that lesson, and God o' Go was more than two stones stronger than world champions already at this time, so I doubt that a blanket statement like this could apply. But it's still worth hearing for us sdks.
Yeah Leela Zero has no real handicap support/knowledge, and only knows the komi it is trained with. Katago has special training to handle handicap situations and also understands komi and score. :)
I opened an account at FOX but I was wrong to inform my level, more or less 4kyu at KGS, at FOX I ended up entering as 3DAM and I can't change or go to another room where there are players with my level. It is a little malleable server. I love watching your games here on UA-cam.
13:13, when reviewing, and seeing how big W got around that area later, do you think going under is better than jumping? Or some other way to play the corner instead of extending at 13:59 and having to tiger's mouth at 16:15? Or everything is very satisfactory until not making the exchange before the peep at 30:19? I like your hat!
One mistake. One little big mistake is all it takes... I play katago on 2 stones and win less than half the time with lots of little mistakes... or one or two bigger ones... and yes it kills anything that moves! So many big semeais I lost by one move... Oh, and that is 2 stones on 13x13 :))
I thought you had a chance to kill the left side near the end. Regardless, please take another handicap stone until you win. The bots will only get stronger, so the handicap will be how we measure the gods of go. There is no shame.
It looked to me that you were playing good moves but Kata was always one step ahead, it's just a magic. How many playouts has Katago you are using? I play with Katago here: katago-gui.herokuapp.com/ but it has ''only'' 256 playouts, I guass your version has much more.
The site is updated :) Now you can use 20block 256 playout( very strong, can give 3dan players 5 stones! ) or 40block 1000 playout (too strong , can give pros 1-2 stones and suffer them !!)
Not the best advertisement for your pro skills (don’t take this too seriously, we do realize the bot is very strong), but very entertaining nonetheless! Thank you for uploading it.
"I'm not as weak as you think, but I'm very scared" :)
I really like how much you explain your thoughts. It really helps to understand what you play.
17:36 strength of a pro! "If here becomes thick then I need to do this exchange." Sad she forgot! :(
Shockingly logical gameplay from katago - it just doesn't care about what you do.

It was helpful hearing your thought process! Thank you so much! Hopefully I will get better ! ;p
The program was always one move ahead. So good at leaving aji and keeping sente.

I think Katago just thought 3 handi is nothing and it will win in any case. So confident!
Great commentary! I'd love to see more.
The narrative of your thought process is very, very useful
Your videos are so helpful!

this was so funny :D really like this kind of videos!

This is an amazing channel! Thank you for the videos!
Great game, also great commenting. Your doing pretty well, thanks a lot for your channel.
Great video! Please do more.
Just wanted to sneak view for 5 minutes but then couldn't stop watching until the bitter end, what a thriller!
Thanks for putting this up :)
I'd love it if you posted a video on the 3-4 6-4 enclosure. I struggle to know how and when to invade it.
"I'm gonna give you a Divine Move, Lee Sedol's Divine Move... Have to wedge ! *tak* It's a resigning move...."
I feel better about losing to these bots at 5 and 6 stones on my laptop. I can’t even beat an iPad anymore. I find those same moves so irritating! Thanks for showing a pro thought process for how to handle it.
That’s why the premise of AI taking over is so scary.

Haha you made me jump 31.28 :)
Here I am, a DDK, playing regularly against Katagom with no handicap 🤦🏽 and losing badly of course
Yeah Leela Zero has no real handicap support/knowledge, and only knows the komi it is trained with. Katago has special training to handle handicap situations and also understands komi and score. :)

I like your hat!
Great Game! It's very challenging to win KataGo with 3 stones handicap though.
...quite surprised about invasion at 9:57 while bottom left and bottom right under threat. What was the idea?
That hat is metal af 🤘
One mistake. One little big mistake is all it takes...

Even with very good moves, katago improves by a fraction of a point until it's over!
What graphics card do you use ?
What software do you use to play KataGo?
sabaki
I think it's also compatible with Lizzie. :)
Is KataGo stronger than the retired AlphaGo?
What settings are you using for Katago?
what is the setup / config of your katago? fix time or fix playouts, hardware config, weight version? Thank you!
What's your computer setting?
Awwww dont cry 🥰🥰

Where can i download this version katago? I want to play with this ai badly.
google is your friend
Katago says black was still ahead by 7 points. :-)
So tough!! after w R13 at 13:27 -->Yeonwoo's is getting really irritated by Katago ^^
How can I play against katago? Is it a program I can download and have on my computer or does it need a super computer?
It looked to me that you were playing good moves but Kata was always one step ahead, it's just a magic.

Aren't you too passive in your approach with that monster?
But you are goddess of Go.
There is a Hungarian girl too Kőszegi Diána. She learned in Korea and won against Kim Deukkyu (8p).
Do you wear that hat when playing progames?
of course! not haha

What a pretty lady.
Yeonwoo has best hat.

Not the best advertisement for your pro skills (don’t take this too seriously, we do realize the bot is very strong), but very entertaining nonetheless! Thank you for uploading it.
do you think some top pro can beat katago in even game?
no human will ever beat any top level AI anymore
@@newsupermichal we can dream.
Well, AI will get better faster, but we can still hope a new youngster will defeat Master/Alpha Go (2018)
No. Katago is better in even games than any human will ever be. The age of humans being the top go players is over.
Do you think Yeonwoo, that you could beat Shin Jinseo on 3 stones , or could you beat him on 2? I Think He's close to Katago's level.
It's all because you invaded the 3 point extension. You should have continued to play calmly)
Feels like you are playing poker, not Go!
Thank you Yeonwoo. Katago is an awful opponent.
31:20
I think you don't play like your normal self. You should play like you. Not aggressive as usual. Relax?
Are you Single?
:(
May I ask what computer hardware are you using (CPU and GPU) to play Katago?
probably higher mid range. why is it important? Even on a cheap laptop it will be stronger than you
