He already had his future planned and it did not include 🏀. Now, as a fifteen year old Rashad McCants was playing on this seventeen year old AAU team. Rashad was a man/child at fifteen with a natural instinct to put the ball and anyone that was in his way in the basket at the same time. There was a tournament in Louisville, KY that required every Nike team nationwide to be there. Everybody that was anybody was at that tournament. There were also brief glimpses of the Rashad that eventually became very visible at UNC, then the train wreck that was his NBA career. It's just tough predicting the adult that a fifteen-year old will become.👌
The biggest reason why Emoni Bates likely failed is his dad was his hs coach and he didn’t develop any from sophomore year to senior year. The warning signs were there when he played in aau tournaments his senior year and coaches had defenders sag off him. He coasted off his athleticism instead of trying to develop a consistent jump shot. That’s why wing players can be so hard to predict in the nba. It is so easy for them to dominate in high school or college without being able to shoot but then in the nba they get exposed.
The crazy thing is the elite 15-16 years in Europe are already playing on pro teams. It’s like soccer, if your an elite soccer player at 14 you’re going to get picked by a pro European soccer team.. both Messi and Ronaldo were selected at 13.

I pray their camp around them keeps them humble throughout this journey because I do truly believe if all goes well, they can develop into their potentials. Emoni Bates may have been bad in college but he popped off in the summer league Edit: y'all gotta chill in the comments I'm just saying that he did do really good vs top prospects and we will see how he does in the nba
I think they should scout Europe instead of goind crazy for some highschool kid who they will see in college anyway 😂 so they dont miss out on Nicola, Luca, Giannis exct.
Name another European player! The US will always be the path to the NBA. Giannis > Davis (close) Jokic > Embiid (played HS and College in America) (close) Luka > Tatum (close) Wembanyama = Chet Lauri played at Arizona University and Sabonis was born in Portland Oregon. ?? < Trae Young ?? < Anthony Edwards ?? < Ja Morant ?? < Zion ?? < Haliburton ?? < Ball ?? < Jaylen Brown ?? < Paolo ?? < Mobley ?? < KD ?? < Curry ?? < Lebron ?? < Kawhi ?? < Dame ?? < PG ?? < Kyrie ?? < Butler ?? < Bam Europe is dry for talent. Wembanyama is Bol Bol and Porzingis mix together.
@@corvidconsumer Trae Young, Ja Morant and Luka are all closer than we want to believe. Davis and Giannis are closer, but Davis is always injured. Jokic and Embiid are closer. Embiid got a better coach and things will be different in Philadelphia. The differences between European and US players are; US players are divas, they think they’re as smart as GMs and they know how to evaluate talent, they rather play with their friends and pals, 1 championship is enough for their legacy, meaning they don’t need to compete anymore, because they got theirs. If we go strictly on US vs European Jokic > Karl Anthony Town Giannis > Davis Embiid > Zion Luka = Ja, Trae, Haliburton, Mitchell and Tatum This won’t look the same by 2026. Giannis plays a lot, less than 300 games away from 1000 games played. Embiid is always hurt, Jokic plays a lot and he’s no athletic god by any standard. In a max of 4 years these guys will be not be the talent pool. Luka will be going against Tatum, Ja, Shai, Mitchell, Trae, Scoot and many others. This is not even close. The top young talents now are US especially at the grassroots level U19 and younger.
What makes Lebron so special is he is the only player to exceed expectations with that god like high school pressure. Wemby has been given a very similar hype up and hopefully he stays healthy and hungry enough to become a superstar
Cooper is an incredible talent, as well as several others. I notice Cooper is especially prone to carrying the ball constantly. I wonder how much his game will be affected if he sees stricter refereeing.
I can’t speak for AJ but being from Maine we have a different outlook on these things, more humble and just enjoying the moment that’s why cooper won’t get bothered by all the attention he’s just having fun, also boozer has his dad to help him navigate through the attention so they for sure won’t fall victim to the attention.
There are more players there who made more than 30 million a year, cannot call them busts. I am actually amazed how the recruitment has become so good.
Issue with Emoni’s game in high school was he was one dimensional. What makes AJ, Boozer, and Cooper really good compared to Emoni is their impact to the game other than scoring
Yeah honestly if AJ Dybantsa doesn't win 7 championships in the next 10 years while retiring to win a world series with the Washington Nationals in the middle of the first 6 then he's probably gonna be a bust ngl
This video isn’t saying why Cooper Flagg won’t stand a chance, it’s saying what their player comps are and how talented they are. This is just showing us how good kids are getting at the game and how they will change the way the game is played. And, they’re not comparing AJ to Paul George because of how effective he will be in the NBA if they put him in the league right now at 16, but how their games are so similar.
The media is setting up these kids to fail - the pressure of putting so much weight on their shoulders and these kids will have their self confidence demolished if they don't live up to these expectations. And this is another reason why IMO European players are now the norm in the NBA - they aren't showered as the "next big thing" by the media from such young age. Just look at Luka Doncic - he didn't need the media hyping him day in and day out how he is basketball's next superstar that can be put on the same pedistal as MJ, Kobe or LeBron. No, he already showed what's made of by winning trophies as a professional player in Real Madrid in both Spain and the Euroleague. Bottom line, the media has to STOP placing on these kids such high expectations on them. It's counterproductive and more often than not this does to these prospects more harm than good.
Cooper Flagg has a better chance than anyone else. That is just a fact. Saying he "Doesn’t Stand a Chance" is moronic. Yes the chances for anyone to become the next big thing in the NBA are low, but who has a better chance?
The greatest irony on a video like this is the fact that A.M. Hoops claims that the only "legit star" (highlighted in green) ranked top 3 out of HS in the last 10 years is Anthony Edwards - a guy who hasn't made an all star game, all-nba team or achieved anything of note (yet). He then suggests that the two latest drafts "were decent" despite the fact that they haven't played long enough to make an evaluation. In fact, the most accomplished player on that list - by a wide margin..... Is Ben Simmons - 3 time all star, 3 time all-nba. And of course, Andrew Wiggins, Brandon Ingram, Michael Porter Jr and Julius Randal are all very good players in their own right.
I thought emoni Bates was going to be an all-time great. He had all the skills at such a young age. So many times it has happened. I don't know if Cooper Flagg will be a generational type player, but I can almost guarantee he won't be a bust. His defense alone is what will probably at least make him high contributor in any team. If he improves his 3pt shooting I see him being great.
It’s crazy tbh had the heat won the finals I think the nba would have made some changes like changing focus from younger talent to talent that is near they true prime like undrafted talent instead idk a weird take but to see what the heat did was phenomenal because of the role players…

It's just tough predicting the adult that a fifteen-year old will become.👌
Cooper Flagg will be an All Star. He's got something special.
1:50 actually too funny 😂
The biggest reason why Emoni Bates likely failed is his dad was his hs coach and he didn’t develop any from sophomore year to senior year. The warning signs were there when he played in aau tournaments his senior year and coaches had defenders sag off him. He coasted off his athleticism instead of trying to develop a consistent jump shot. That’s why wing players can be so hard to predict in the nba. It is so easy for them to dominate in high school or college without being able to shoot but then in the nba they get exposed.
No, the reason he "failed" is that he can't run, can't jump has the arms of a 6-5 guys and a 14-year old's personality..But he' hasn't failed yet.
The crazy thing is the elite 15-16 years in Europe are already playing on pro teams. It’s like soccer, if your an elite soccer player at 14 you’re going to get picked by a pro European soccer team.. both Messi and Ronaldo were selected at 13.
Saw Aj play live and he was stunning
I’m not a Labron hater, have a lot of respect for what he has done over the length of his career. Taking teams with little talent to the finals, never getting in any trouble with the law, but there is something off about how he sees himself or talks about himself. Forget about the we gonna win 5,6,7, championships, or the time in the tunnel before going out on the court for his first game back in Cleveland, he said something like this is one of the biggest games of all time. Now I have to see him at an AAU game wearing a shirt with his picture on it from the Sports Illustrated cover “The Chosen One”. I’m sorry just a little too full of himself.
Is not that deep dude, he is the chosen one tho
@@nknewknowledge2678right 😂😂😂😂
I’m ngl u proved ur whole point wrong when u went through the top 3 recruits in past years. The closer u get to this generation of players the more successful they are cause they’re simply more talented. I’m sorry dude but only casuals are subscribed to u. U start ur videos off so nice n I forget why I’m not subscribed n then u remind me
Welcome to 2023 where they fit the commercial into the person. That was actually pretty crazy how strong of a chime Commercial that was.
The flow was actually angelic
i love this guy if i was a prospect like these kids i would watch him to feel better about myself
Getting better at that chime legal stuff bro 😂 thanks fi di video. Keep the good work.
The Caption was actually Genius 🔥..
I don't' really watch the nba much anymore, but I still love your videos. This was a good one!
I would not call Jabari Parker a bust. To me, if your career is shortened or altered by injury, and that is why you don't fulfill your potential, you are not a bust. That is out of a player's control. A bust is when they just simply don't perform and live up to the expectations
That's not the generally accepted definition. The likes of Sam Bowie, Greg Oden, Michael Olowokandi are considered all time busts due to injury.
Bust is a bust if you can’t take care of yourself it’s your problem.
Kwame brown is a bust
That’s a bust
AM Hoops is like the Ace Ventura of the NBA
😂😂😂😂😂❤
I totally agree with you about the expectations placed on these guys are ridiculous. But, in a way is building them up for what the league does. I pray their camp around them keeps them humble throughout this journey because I do truly believe if all goes well, they can develop into their potentials. Situation all matters from here out, so let’s pray God has them set to be stars in this league
You know Flagg took all those years kids made fun of his family name to his face, bottled it up into a ball, and made it personal… dude is on a mission
I don't think these kids have any idea how cool of a last name Flagg is. Remember Randall Flagg from The Stand by Steven King?
Emoni Bates may have been bad in college but he popped off in the summer league
Edit: y'all gotta chill in the comments I'm just saying that he did do really good vs top prospects and we will see how he does in the nba
bro summer league means nothing
Lol….hahahhahahahahahahah….hahaha….HAHA
@@YYKpikadodo for me summer league means more then regular season. better defense and emoni still hitting those shots and finding those passes.
@@johnmarkson1990bruh what you smoking man
Remember when Kevin Knox was popping off in Summer league. Yeah just you wait until you face proper men as to rookies, sophmores and G-league players.
I need to rewatch this in 6 years
im glad ive heard about the top people in the draft before the am hoops video
Some of those guys have peaked in high school and will not get any better, others will become elite NBA players. Trick is to know which is which...
These elite players are dominating against people that are 6'1".
not only that athleticism can only go so far perkins was a beast in highschool casue he was 6 10 240ish
I think they should scout Europe instead of goind crazy for some highschool kid who they will see in college anyway 😂 so they dont miss out on Nicola, Luca, Giannis exct.
Name another European player! The US will always be the path to the NBA.
Giannis > Davis (close)
Jokic > Embiid (played HS and College in America) (close)
Luka > Tatum (close)
Wembanyama = Chet
Lauri played at Arizona University and Sabonis was born in Portland Oregon.
?? < Trae Young
?? < Anthony Edwards
?? < Ja Morant
?? < Zion
?? < Haliburton
?? < Ball
?? < Jaylen Brown
?? < Paolo
?? < Mobley
?? < KD
?? < Curry
?? < Lebron

Europe is dry for talent. Wembanyama is Bol Bol and Porzingis mix together.
@@maxhypolite5388It depends, it seems like more talent comes from the US, but there’s more “best in the league” level talent coming internationally.
If we go strictly on US vs European
Jokic > Karl Anthony Town
Giannis > Davis
Embiid > Zion
Luka = Ja, Trae, Haliburton, Mitchell and Tatum
This won’t look the same by 2026.
Giannis and AD is not fucking close tf. AD has accomplished far less@@maxhypolite5388
Oscar Wembanyama is going to catch them up eventually.
Wembanyama played against men. Those 3 are playing againt the boys.
@@sikecar534 yes, if the US don't change their basketball system, they will be ruining the potential of these young hoopers.
What makes Lebron so special is he is the only player to exceed expectations with that god like high school pressure. Wemby has been given a very similar hype up and hopefully he stays healthy and hungry enough to become a superstar
They should tell the race of the scouts
Weird
This aged well
Cooper is an incredible talent, as well as several others. I notice Cooper is especially prone to carrying the ball constantly. I wonder how much his game will be affected if he sees stricter refereeing.
You realize they don’t call that in the NBA UNLESS u piss off the refs. Just ask AI
“But Cameron has a FULL HEAD OF HAIR” 😂😂😂😂
I can’t speak for AJ but being from Maine we have a different outlook on these things, more humble and just enjoying the moment that’s why cooper won’t get bothered by all the attention he’s just having fun, also boozer has his dad to help him navigate through the attention so they for sure won’t fall victim to the attention.
Great video Andy
Harry Giles was injured which has caused him problems since high school. I truly believe CF is the real deal with huge potential.
Jabari Parker not a bust. That’s unfair. Before injuries he was nice
*When LeFlop James shows up to your game, that’s the kiss of death to your NBA career. LeGone even hurt Chet Holmgren in a pick up game 💯
Cooper will be a superstar in the NBA.
Nope lol more like a benchwarmer
I don't need anyone to tell me Flagg doesn't have a chance. Just by watching him play, his talent for the game is obvious.
Me not skipping the ad read sure paid off handsomely 🎶
There are more players there who made more than 30 million a year, cannot call them busts. I am actually amazed how the recruitment has become so good.
He just won an MVP scouting combine award against kids who are already about to play for G League ignite.
I can't believe you made us watch all those ads!
Thank you. Hype is nice so we can watch the subsequent “Whatever happened to……” a few years later.
The media always finds ways to over hype a prospect and gets their hands clean "because the guy didn't pan out"
Disgusting behavior
This aged well,,,, 😂
Exactly what I came here to sayyy
Issue with Emoni’s game in high school was he was one dimensional. What makes AJ, Boozer, and Cooper really good compared to Emoni is their impact to the game other than scoring
Lebron was best example of media getting correct of predicting he will be the best among the rest and most of it is naaahhh.
No way people move on from the draft prospect hype that fast 😐
When I see cam boozer play reminds me of Paolo banchero & similar comments by scouts 😅
Boozer son potential All-star caliber player in the future 💪💪💪
biggest flex is going to highschool in Maine and watching this dude play.
When, abd what channel, can we watch Cooper Flagg, and Monteverde?
"The frog that is living in the pond so long know nothing about the ocean."
Yeah honestly if AJ Dybantsa doesn't win 7 championships in the next 10 years while retiring to win a world series with the Washington Nationals in the middle of the first 6 then he's probably gonna be a bust ngl
I will remember thepart Casey sing for a long time😂😂
Do you think you can make a vid on Mikey Williams
Bates killed it at the summer league. He could be an all star at some point
6:21 Jabari Parker as full healthy person was the player to bw 20/7/2 easy as 3rd option , more athletic Tobbias Harris
All three if those kids are "Steph Curry with a 40inch vertical"
Flagg only kinda has his brother’s help on that AAU team. They have teamwork and familiarity, but he carries big time.
Bro has 3 dark matters 1 end game btw in 2 k before he had debut hakerm clyde and oscar has 1 ☠️
You talking bout wemby

I must need to watch a lot more because I've been watching Dybansa and he doesn't look like he's in the same category as the people that scout named.
….dybantsa & boozer are 2026. Flagg is ‘25
Chime is goated. You get $100 when ur direct deposit drops too
Great video. Underscores the incredible mental make-up of former 15 yr old legends Lebron, Bryce Harper and Messi
It was just to getcha to click
bro really hit those notes 🎶🎵🎤
watch out for that unknown european basketball player in Matas Buzelis. Even though he's playing in US, he's originally from Lithuania.
Great content
It’s crazy tbh had the heat won the finals I think the nba would have made some changes like changing focus from younger talent to talent that is near they true prime like undrafted talent instead idk a weird take but to see what the heat did was phenomenal because of the role players…
That was just coaching.
Nuggets had way too much for the heat really
