I realized today that the trial chambers were the first complete/non-ruined structure added since… the new villages?
Bastion remnants, ancient city, and trail ruins. Yep
that couldn't have been that long, right?
what? 2019? nearly 5 years ago? OUCH.
@JoSephGD only nearly HALF A DECADE
Strange that the trial chambers aren’t ruined…
@@memor22 it kinda is cause it's weathered, but the shape of it is still there
Considering Lapis was used exclusively for blue dye back then, using lapis isn't quite as overpowered as one might think (then again, even in modern Minecraft lapis isn't used for much outside of enchanting).
I wouldn't be against a lapis reboot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't really have any problems with how it is now though mostly
And enchanting is kinda bad anyway
Yeah enchanting is definitely.... Not very great
Jeb did design a Trial Chamber a long time ago. It’s called a Dungeon and it is basically a single Cobblestone box with a spawner and a pair of loot chests… What passed for a structure and a “combat challenge” back then is way way different than today.
Wow captain obvious
I can't believe he didn't use a classic texture pack!

Ngl I wish they made a mix of current trial gameplay with a remodeled stronghold with the original art work as inspiration
Then 1 structure would have multiple reasons to go and take over
This would be such a nice revamp for that structure
@reybutsquishy a mix of old and new use the copper ad the original art work did but the rest of the structure using stronghold blocks and tuff then maybe add books in the library that acualy explain some loor
Considering that strong holds are a core game element, as they take you to the end of the game, they really do need a remodel.
I enjoy making things work on older operating systems or hardware than they should. Backporting trial chambers has that vibe, love this.
Jeb pony-tailing his hair outta existence. Gotta be more loose when you tie it up dang😮💨😭🐎
Ah, the nostalgia of the trial chambers back in 1.7.2!
Beta 1.8*
We already have that... It's called the dungeons... The trial chambers are literally a modern and 100 times better version of the dungeon
The first ever trial chamber I went to was connected to a dungeon
The dungeon wasn't designed in 2011, it's clearly a generation older than the stronghold
@@toycat does it matter though? The trial chambers are clearly meant to do what the dungeons couldn't back in the day due to technical limitations, honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Mojang went out of their way to say that this was their original vision for the dungeons but they just couldn't do it
@@dragonslayer3552yeah honestly true the dungeon is from 2010 though
@@toycat
Indeed. The dungeon predates even Minecraft Alpha. Throughout Alpha and most of Beta, it was the only "structure" in the game.
Bro i finally found you
I watched you about 4 years ago 24/7 and then after i got a new phone you just vanished. I forgot all about you until i started playing minecraft again when i remembered and tried to find you but never did
I just randomly found you for a tutorial and realized it was you off seed sunday lol but its great to see you doing a lot better on yt last time i remember you only had 100k subs
No longer have to mine for copper or farm bees when all you have to do is visit trial chamber
Haha, it's true!
This is the only flaw with the update; while eye beforehand it was kinda easy to get cooler, now it’s just free at this point, meaning it’s used in the future won’t be all that spectacular as there’s so much of it.
@@AuriPlayzzwith a fortune 3 pickaxe you can get copper faster from a regular cave than finding a trial chamber and breaking the blocks
@@AuriPlayzz so true, i used to have to smelt cobble into stone, then use a crafting table to make stone bricks, but now all i have to do is find a stronghold and i have infinite stone bricks! Surely stone bricks will now become oversaturated in minecraft worlds and builds now that strongholds have been added
:(
@@jc_art_ stone bricks are stone bricks. What do stone bricks do in real life? They look pretty. Copper, what does copper in real life do? Electronic gadgets, wires, machinery, magic, ect. Your analogy is completely scuffed and sadly I do not get your point.
I always had a question about the building blocks for structures...The thumbnail reminds me of the thought of why mojang never really do anything with their other blocks, like the brick block for example, I know some people that dont even know bricks exist in the game...I wish they would make more structures incorporating bricks and/or other less used blocks./
The trail ruins had used old blocks like bricks
@@Acenti56 I meant in structures where people would actually want to go and explore to
That's such a stupid thing to say, Trail Ruins are one of my favorite structures to find@@megamegaO
@megamega0 you can get stained glass panes from that structure, that's like the most useful structure ever!
Cough cough
@@Daymare19 in all seriousness, most people just go there for the trims.
... then the trials would be a whole new dimension
let the intrusive thoughts win more often, this was one if the most enjoyable videos that you've done in a while (not that I don't enjoy the other ones).
Tbh i like the downgraded trial chamber more than the one we got(I mean the design)
i really like this idea!!! 2011 trial chambers feel really nostalgic, video was very enjoyable to watch!
I absolutely love your builds! Your blackstone desert temples are by far the best of the best!
This reminds me of when I tried to make an updated version of the dungeon in, I believe 2016, to try and use the new structure blocks. I called it, very imaginatively, the mega dungeon. I put four spawners in it instead of one, made it bigger than a dungeon, and then... uhh just never worked on it again and now trial chambers came out so... cool?
It even looks like the video quality did a 2011 downgrade over the course of its runtime.
UA-cam downgrading 1080p video compression is getting out of hand.
The lapis blocks are so painful… this would make so much sense if it wasn’t for the lapis 😭
I'd love to see this done with other big structures in the game, and imagine what they'd look like downgraded to older blocks. Structures like Ocean Monuments, Bastions and End Cities/Ships would be really cool to see reimagined with a much older block palette.
The effort that went into this is crazy
I know that this was just a small little comment at the end, but I actually agree with the 'big lifeless structures' segment! I see too many minecraft youtubers say that they're 'improving your base' or 'improving current structures' by just... making them bigger- I don't see the point, really. Like yeah, big monoliths are cool and all... but it kind of defeats the whole statement "less is more".
Cool! Looks fun!
14:34 love cobblestone wool
Now build it in your let’s play world lol
I'm with you with console edition. I only really played it a little bit with one of my Mom's acquaintances from college and a little bit solo but it was really enjoyable
It looks good!
IVE BEEN THINKING OF MAKING A MOD JUST LIKE THIS!
Thank you toycat
Now that I’ve seen this, the only logical conclusion is to replicate turning my trial chamber into something similar.
The jack o lanterns with bricks reminds me of one of the first houses I built in Minecraft.
Hay toycat, are you gonna talk about the pdb files being removed and the impact this has on bedrock servers and moding?
maybe instead of copper bulbs you can use redstone lamps with levers on them (during the part you could use new blocks)
When you said God dammit you missed one at the Light bulb, you also forgot a candle there
Another thing would be that it would be much smaller and simpler, because they didn't have that much experience yet with random structure generation.
i think if these were made in the way you did them that spawner farms would be easier to make and come across and i think more people would do a base built around or within the structure itself
I have a chest full of Redstone blocks and a chest full of lapis.... But they barely get touched. I don't use either one for anything. I get my enchantments from looting books, fishing and trading. My enchanting table barely gets used anymore tbh
Cool job.
I really would want them to add structures that use the old school blocks. No new blocks.
Seeing the old creative screen was kinda shocking. I forgot how we didn’t have smooth stone and stone was “smooth” stone
i think instead of using lapis you can forgoe the entire blue look and maybe just use wood planks
I feel like he genuinely should have just used cyan or blue wool. Desert temples used to use orange and blue wool before being replaced with terracotta in a later update, i dont see why this had to use lapis. It looks ugly, and its definitely completely out of the minecraft style, and thats before even touching on the overpoweredness of it.
@@jc_art_ oh yeah
It is me or lapis looks beautiful in this structure?😍
Awh I thought he was actually going to build it in the beta
I was just thinking, and what if they added sweeping edge enchantment to axes
i don't know why but i feel like I've seen this channel before?
I hope so!

shouldve used wood for the floors
I'd do mossy cobble in place of lapis
Weathered copper is not blue in the slightest it's so clearly green
You could argue teal or turquoise and though still wrong it's close, it's still nowhere near blue.
18:18 My world has soooo much Lapis blocks, I think they make great rooves for large things like Castle Towers.. And I mined them all the old way......
This is a really fun video idea. I loved the use of Jack-O-Lanterns
Red wool works better as a floor than lapis
A group thumbnail!
try do this with other structures
You should've enabled programmer art, just because :D
honestly it looks better
3 changes i would have done, instead of mossy stone bricks i would ether use 2 stone slabs or break the rule and add Chisled stone or Smothstone, the lamps i w ould use Glowstone, just think it looks best for the 3 options, and instead of stone for the celing just use normal stone bricks
If you go back in time, the first thing to tell jeb is "DO NOT LET NOTCH SELL MOJANG TO MICROSOFT."
This is how that industry works; You make an innovative cool thing, it grows and becomes too big, you can't manage it yourself anymore (after all you're a simple programmer) so you sell it for in Minecrafts case several millions. So if Notch wouldn't have sell it to Microsoft, he would have sold it to another company, or he wouldn't have been able to keep up with the industry and Minecraft would have collapsed at it's size. So while Microsoft does some _shady praxises_ and weird decisions I think generally it's a good decision. Or to whom should have notch sell Minecraft else?

I would have made the floor mossy cobblestone.

this actually wouldn't work because the spawners wouldn't spawn due to the light from the jack-o-lanterns
You can use iron blocks instead of copper blocks
Someone said that lapis blocks would be too OP which I disagree with, but Iron blocks would be too broken...

and the map i asked for?
Minecraft Trial Chambers 2024 design feels like a copper floored arcade with vaults and not an actual dungeon with mossy stone designs and bricks with skeletons spawning to prove that it's an actual dungeon or an actual trial chamber. This update 2024 is a reflection of Gen Alpha and Gen Zoomers where they don't know what a dungeon is or what's heat resistance do to people when wearing an enchanted armor attached to it. They also don't know what a mace is nor anything. They change the definitions and they failed to touch grass and relax a little bit.
You okay? You seem a little heated.

19:41 THAT IS NOT AN INTRUSIVE THOUGHT. Intrusive thoughts are very serious and are disturbing towards those who have them, they are thoughts people wish they did not have. Please do not use this term in this way, it really dilutes the seriousness of when someone is using the term legitimately.
🤓☝️
Lmao dramatic much?? Also no, intrusive thoughts aren't always "HaRmFul" and using it wouldn't make a difference...
@@Key-Knight87 History shows that many terms have people use them slightly irregularly before the meanings greatly diverge from the original. One such word that immediately comes to my mind is "literally." I did look up the definition of intrusive thought. I do apologise for being more extreme with my perceived definition. Although intrusive thought is not one that will cause harm, it is still one that is disturbing towards the person who had it. I will edit my original comment to use that definition. I still do not believe that ibxtoycat was disturbed when he thought "what if the trial chamber was designed by Jeb in 2011."
I like the 2024 trial chambers better
I got a B thumbnail
No classic texture pack?
I got A
I'm confused. The Trial Chambers are made mostly out of copper blocks. How is it made out of new blocks? I get that they made some new copper blocks just for the trial chamber but I'd still consider them copper blocks. Just a new variation of an old block.
The new variations of the copper blocks are new blocks. Would you consider stone bricks or chiseled stone bricks a different block from stone? What about smooth stone? Is a smooth stone stair the same as a stone block to you? Doesnt make sense to me.
@@jc_art_ I would consider it a variation of an old block. I consider a new block, a block with a texture that's never been seen before.
@@buddy4235 they have textures that have never been seen before???
The grate, bulb, chiseled tuff, and tuff bricks are all new textures, i dont think you know what a texture is??
@@jc_art_ Yeah but still, it's not completely "unfamiliar". Technically they made a "new" block, but it's based off of an old block so it doesn't feel that different. It's a old block...
@@Key-Knight87 would you say a bamboo mosaic slab is just a "variation" of the bamboo plant, despite looking and acting very different, or would you say theyre different blocks? By your earlier definition it would be a "new block" but by your new logic it would be an "old block". To me it feels less like you have an actual reasoning, and more like youre just trying to defend your point when it was already dead before you started.

this would make it way too easy to get a huge surplus of lapis. i vote to replace it with cobblestone.
