You mentioned that the town's infrastructure can't really cope with the big changes for 2 days. Have you noticed any hostility from the people living there? What are your views about the impact it has on them?
You have a good eye! I'll explain. I posted this video a few weeks ago, but some of the video files were corrupted so the video needed to be taken down and fixed in order for it to be watchable. I also added some additional footage before reuploading it.

I got so confused...I read this, and thought, "why on earth would Jews go to Uman" (like Yemen/Saudia Arabia)? Didn't that country expel its Jews? Anyway, now I understand its a different place, at the grave of R. Nachman in the Ukraine
Great question. Not ride at all! 😃 This is more of a men’s pilgrimage, although some women tend to come too. There are Women’s pilgrimages to Uman as well at other various times during the year.
I think the women dont neccesarily want to be in the conditions of uman rosh hashana but i was there baruch hashem with my family two years which was amazing.. in the past women just did not travel it was only the men. Also if women come they try to stay indoors away from masses of men... men are easily distracted, best to leave them a bit with God alone..😊
During the Bolshevik Revolution, the Jews of Uman endured great suffering. In the spring and summer of 1919, a number of troops passed through the city and perpetrated pogroms; ( mass murders ) there were 400 victims in the first pogrom and more than 90 in the subsequent one. More than 400 victims of the pogrom 12-14 May 1919 were buried in the Jewish cemetery in three mass graves. This was my mother‘s family. She came to America in 1920 at age 6. Their entire family was murdered. No one ever wanted to speak of any of this in our family. Even though my mother and father were both Jewish and my mother was raised strictly Jewish ,we were not raised with any religion. But I believe this still makes me a Jew because my mother was a Jew and her mother was a Jew and her mother and so on. Because of the atrocities they experienced ,nothing was ever talked about and no one even had a birth certificate . It was burnt and destroyed in the Soviet buildings. But a piece of paper does not equal a human life. When you and the thousands of others visit this rabbis grave is there more of a spiritual awakening that happens? Is it a remembrance? Is it ancestral memories? Isn’t the human spirit and resilience amazing? Thank you for this pilgrimage ! I’m sure it’s not physically easy. I believe you mentioned you have been coming there for 10 years. This means you were a young boy coming to a place far away ,seeking ,wanting to learn , wanting to be enlightened . And this is what I mean when I stated in your previous videos that I believe you have an anointing upon you. This cannot be an easy task. All the trips you take ,all that it entails. In my mind this is someone who truly seeks , Who has a gifting that you want to share, that you are supposed to share. You want others to see what you see, and possibly learn what you learn, and possibly grow mentally, physically and spiritually. I can see and feel that your life has a lot of meaning and purpose.
Hi Beverly! Thank you for your message and for all of the information that you shared. I'm fascinated to learn that your mother's family was from there. According to Jewish tradition, you are 100% Jewish. When the Hasidic Pilgrimage to Uman takes place, there is a spiritual awakening amongst the visitors. It is also a remembrance of those who were killed just for the crime of being Jewish. I'm seeing lots of interest in this subject from you and many others in my audience, so I think I'll make another video explaining the spiritual significance of it al. Thanks again for your kind words! I always look forward to seeing your comments. (P.s. if you ever want to learn more about your Jewish heritage, lemme know. I know of some great resources.) Best regards, Shloime

Start with Leviticus 23. It lists the major Holy days according to the Torah. The Jewish New Year or Rosh HaShanah is the 1st day of the 7th month. The 7th month itself has FOUR major holidays, the third one beginning with the full moon lasting 7 days. It is a major month for holidays whose holidays just ended.
