The problem with squeezing the bottle to add the oil is what do you do with the oil left in the bottle. Can’t squeeze it far enough to do another engine or to redo next season. Also when you release the bottle to insert the top screw suction in the bottle will pull oil out of the lower unit. I always suggest a pump.
Is it possible to replace the plugs with (of course) with the same sized threaded type only a type that s removed and replaced using a socket wrench? I had a Evinrude 175 back in '88 and changed the gear lube with a big flat blade screw-driver and it tightened down fine. Six months of heavy fishing later, I went to loosen the screws and I could not. I want to say impossible. I suppose the vibration from the running motor tightened it into oblivia! LOL! A socket would have done it! Thanks for the good vid! JEE.
100 hours is a general rule of thumb, but you'll want to verify this with the manufacturer owners manual. If you don't have this, then an authorized dealer will be able to advise you.
I went to a mechanic here in timmins ( mikeys ) $1700 later and my boat runs worse then when it went in and they said SHIT HAPPENS now i just use youtube i wont fuck myself LOL

What type of boat is that looks super light?
Do you ever replace the gasket on the screws when you change the lower unit oil?
Yes. they are inexpensive and I change them when they look flattened out or worn.
I change them every time. Cheap insurance.

Be better to use a larger bladed screwdriver- an undersized one can wreck the head of the screw eventually. Good video otherwise!
what boat is that? i want too buy one
It's old Ranger Banshee flats boats that was out of use that Terry customized himself for bass fishing small lakes.
Freshwater out-drives look new compared to salt
