I saw a video on the first day of someone evacuating saying that there was kids lighting fireworks up on the hill, the whole week leading up to it, so he just assumed that the pop pop pop he just heard started the fire that he’s flinging from. 50/50 a homeless person started the fire. Even if it wasn't started by a homeless person the timeline of the slow response has started to come out. The fire was isolated but growing for about 45 minutes after it was called in. The problem was the engines were busy putting out other fires in different locations. I can almost guarantee those were likely caused by homeless. The homeless account for something like 80% - 90% of all calls. I don't recall the specific number but it's the vast number of calls and any firefighter knows this. I'm all for compassion but compassion does not mean letting them burn down thousands of homes in order for them to feel welcome in a city.
