Très émouvant, puissant… Cette famille Mackenzie-Fraser, je l’adore… Brianna, Roger et le petit Jem chantant ensemble, les larmes finissent par couler…

Richard Rankin IS Roger Mac! He looks and sounds just like the description in Diana’s books. The only problem? He and the actress playing Brianna have all the chemistry of a duck and a groundhog. Such a shame…..but Richard!? I’m in love…..too bad I’m a grandmother! 🥰😉

Clementine was a song that did not exist in the 18th century here in the American colony which is being portrayed in Outlander. The song became popular in the mid-19th century after the gold rush. Yes, Richard and Brianna were from the 20th century but they were Scot/British -American and certainly would not have known this tune.

The song was around in the 18th century actually, it just wasn't famous till the 19th century.... that part you got right.

Roger's a historian who loves folk music (and just music in general), Brianna was raised in America, and both of them are from the 20th century. Plus, "Clementine" has been a popular song since the late 1800s...jazz singer Bobby Darin actually sang a version of it (granted, a very jazzy version) in 1960. So I honestly don't get why you think that neither one of them would have known it.

They are both history enthusiasts at the very least, if not for him being a historian and she being a history major.

They sang a lot of “modern” songs in the show and the book. And they certainly would have known this tune. I grew up in asia and have been singing this since I was 8 so 🤷🏻‍♀️
