Sorry, I'm not sure that would work given the timelines. Dougie Maclean wrote the song in 1977 and didn't release it until 1979, so '60s Rodger couldn't have heard the song. It's almost as beloved in Scotland as Roy Williamson's Flower of Scotland, first performed in public in 1967 and now Scotland's unofficial National Anthem! I think Scottish fans would object vociferously... until Book 8 is covered by the TV series!
