  • Can you return to driving after a stroke or brain injury? We compiled your top questions about the driving process, implications of driving with impairment, medical review/reporting process, potential to drive with modifications, equipment and/or strategies. Much of the information can be applied to other conditions resulting in physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual impairments, such as with dementia.
To answer the questions, we invited certified North Carolina driving rehab specialist (CDRS,) Jan Stephanides MS, OTR, CDRS, CDI, to help answer these questions. Jan is the lead driving evaluator at UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton, NC. She has been the vice president of the NC/VA ADED chapter since July
2016. She has been a speaker at ADED and NMEDA national conferences.
