It’s wrong when he said raptor killed 6 rafales it was Eurofighter not rafales. Rafale did one shot and the others was an equal elimination 1/1 so rafale wins few times vs a 5th generation
indeed, Rafale appears later in Emirate fleets
It is very wrong with all what he said. Typical American bullshitting excuse. Because of that, they are now suprise and they should not be. Rafale will beat any American jet fighter not just in dog fight, but with METEOR, IRA and SPECTRA, they will beat them and beyond visual range too. Meteors are the best air to air missiles in the world, Rafale have them, and than SPECTRA who give Rafale electronic stealth capabilities, and all that with Rafale F3R, when Rafale F4 will be much more superior to any jet fighter.
@@robidobi-hq5jmEven when Rafale, EFT, Gripen, F22 etc get together for dissimilar training they never NEVER allow all systems or tactics to be used. Simply always been that way, your radar is on 45% power the airframe has radar reflectors to enlarge your shape etc basically disguise and then play with your own toys in private. This is for getting used to cooperation with Allies if it is ever needed. Don't let it fool anybody into believing they know the truth.
@@robidobi-hq5jmthe f22 is almost undetectable on radar without very special programs tooto specifically search for it, and it can also shoot down planes from beyond visual range without ever being detected
@@shadowwolf6174 Yes, Rafale can do that too. Rafale has better radar than F22, has better missiles, Meteor is better BVR missile, Rafale has S.P.E.C.T.R.A, has IRA, has all the crap like F22, and will take out F22 even with BVR. What many people mistaken about the Rafale, the Rafale has major upgrades and the Rafale F4 is not the same airplane as the Rafale F1.
Rafale F4 is capable of shooting down in dog fight or BVR F22, F35 and SU57 and Chinese planes without any problem because it has the same or better technology and it is that much advance than Eurofighter Typhoon, that once in excercise, one Rafale "shot down" four Eurofighter Typhoons.
Any jet can beat any jet given the right circumstances. No jet is unkillable and it's naive to think it was otherwise.
very true but when you also tie a fighters hands up and put them on the ground to start the fight its tricky to come back when to loose the fight all it requires is basically flying hud bfm which the first two turns on a delta wing like the mirage or the rafale excel at the thing about the f-22 it can too and regain energy extremely well plus its hard to achieve solid radar lock

And guess what ? Pierre "ATE" Chuet, ex Rafale marine pilot, complained in his later youtube video that the french pilots could be even better and have more 30 hours of training per year, he also complained that Safran was ok to give them even more advanced reactors, but the DGA (the administration that decides the armies budget) called that an "aviator's whim"; That's just insane, France has currently the best technologies in the Rafale jets they sell to Qatar, India, Egypt but don't want to implement them in the french ones ! we have the smartest armament industry, with the most stupid bureaucrats 😕
You just forgot to precise, one thing : the current engines are perfects but in a hot desert.
Always upgrade the least effective part first hence Rafale replaced the first generation radar, the engine could be chipped to give more power but that would shorten it's life and so better to let it's missiles do the hard work.
i tough the new version have a more powerfull engine
This French pilot is the master of his machinery. It wouldn’t have been a simple task tactically (nor both physically and mentally) to get himself into a position where he’s about to knock the F-22 right out of the sky. 9G’s come on now!!! This guy is proving himself to be harder than his aircraft. The F22 is unbeatable at the distances where it sees it’s opponent but can’t be seen itself. The closer it gets to the merge then and beyond, the less certain it is of a victory. Once up close it becomes more about the pilot and less about expensive coatings and next generation electronics. Once you can be seen with the naked eye it doesn’t matter how stealthy you are at a distance.
Both aircraft are fantastic pieces of engineering but but on this occasion it has to be Viva La France 🇫🇷
Douce France, cher pays de mon enfance... très bonne musique de Charles Trenet .👍🇫🇷❤
BTW the actual final score was 4 even, and 1 victory for each aircraft. The video got it completely wrong, there has never been 6 victories for the F22 before that dogfight. I believe that was against the Typhoon (which the Rafale also crushed by 7 to 1).

It is fair to say the pilot of the Rafael was in a better position and the F22 had bags. Hardly a be all end all conclusion.

It doesn't matter how good a plane is, it matters all on the pilot's knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of their aircraft and their opponents. Great example here showing the Rafale pilot knew what the F22 pilot was trying to do and managed to get on his 6. Also a great thing that this was a simulated fight so that both pilots could learn something new so they can use it in the future. Nonetheless, both absolutely fantastic planes.
Correct! Give a novice soldier a knife and he will be barely able to defend himself. Give the same to an expert, he will defend himself and 20 others and kill equal amount of enemies also.
The pilots skills are needed less and less . 6th generation aircraft will have an optional extra pilotless derivative In fact AI has already been tested in US with an experienced F16; pilot against an AI flown aircraft and in mock combat it won 5-0. All that room/ equipment needed for a pilot oxygen, ejector seat, canopy etc could be room for fuel, weapons, censors etc. Inevitable.
And the missiles it can shoot. 5 to one is not a bad record.
in a dogfight yeah. but not when your enemy can see and you have no idea there is a missile heading straight right at you. besides, the f22 already shot down 6 rafales and it only carries 6 missiles. it did its job!
Exacly
Many make a mistake, they are confused by the fact that the French always call different planes the same name, the Rafale and only they add the version codes, the Rafale is not an old technology, the Rafale is not a technology that is subordinate to the American, Russian or Chinese stealth, on the contrary, the Rafale F4 is the latest technology, and the Rafale F4 is different plane compared to the Rafale F1.
Only the contours of the plane and the name of the plane are the same.
The Rafale F4 is not an inferior plane to the American, Russian or Chinese ones, on the contrary, it is better in many aspects.
For example, American, Chinese and Russian supposedly stealth planes achieve this with design and paint, while in the Rafale it is done by electronic SPECTRA. Likewise, METEOR is the best AIR to AIR missile, the Rafale is equipped with it, as well as with the IRA, which gives it the ability to target stealth planes without problems.
🆓️👍👍rafales à ne pas oublié, il est multi-role dans sa conception..(.super étendard, il remplace le tornado, mirage f-1 ) et 2000 ...4 jets a la fois ....subsonic et supersonique....🇫🇷👍❤
When we lose the competition,we said it’s not about the plane it’s about the pilot
I consider both fantastic aircraft, each with thier strengths and weaknesses. Usally the opponent that sees the other 1st has the advantage but that won't always be the case. Pilot skills are definitely a major factor because even the most advanced weapons without the proper traing is damn near worthless.
I definitely applaud both countries for their engineering achievements.
Hmm you're right
Both aircraft have different capabilities, F22 is an assassin lurking in the dark while Rafale is an all rounder capable of landing on a small carrier. As you see they have their strengths and F22 might best be used in combination with different types of partner able to perform more varied tasks. That is why we train with friends for when the dark days come.
Rafale , combat proven ...F22 , balloon killer...
@@NATObait That is not true. Rafale have F22 capabilities, F22 don't have Rafale capabilities. Simple as that. Beside, Rafale F1 launched in 1990s and Rafale F4 launched in 2023 are not the same jets, except they have the same name. F22 is not more advanced by technology than Rafale F4. Yes, F22 is stealth by design and paint, but Rafale F4 is stealth PARTLY BY design, paint and full electronically by SPECTRA. For example BVR fight, Rafale have METEOR missiles, so which jet have better air to air missile than Rafales METEOR? None.
@@robidobi-hq5jmF22 is not in production but has been upgraded constantly, the big difference is F22 was never available for export so little information was openly discussed as their is no need. Rafale is now releasing it's F4 version and needs to impress potential customers ...that is the fundamental difference.
F22 benefits include
1. A stealth design
2. Internal weapons bays.
3. Thrust vectoring
4. Supercruise capable with weapons
Rafale benefits include
1. A Carrier version
2. ITAR FREE
3. Cheaper than F22
4. Ground strike capable
As you see both designs are completely different and only overlap in AA capabilities. The ability to mask your presence by countermeasures is common to several aircraft, some more effectively than others. But if you start by having an RCS 1000 X smaller ( and use countermeasures obviously) you are harder to detect and track and have an advantage. The Meteor is better than AMRAAM AIM 120D in range but you have to detect and maintain lock and Rafale does not have 2 way data link to Meteor so that is tricky. Hanging weapons and fuel from pylons increases drag and RCS it also limits g manoeuvrability. F22 also holds more internal fuel ( it's bigger ) basically it was primarily designed to dominate in AA combat..that does not make it a better aircraft. The F22 is also not completely unbeatable if you can get close enough. F22 lacks helmet queueing so an IR missile launch can be achieved at scarry angles that can't be copied. You just have to get close enough!
At the end of the day it’s all about pilot skills.
China fulfilling the dream of 640 years ago...France sells combat aviation technology to China. American troops leave.

. 6th generation fighters do not have pilots. In Europe, the 5th generation fighter was excluded from development. Europe is developing a 6th generation fighter.

That is a lie. That pilot had to absolutely push the Raptor to its limits too. The airframe is rated to 9Gs max, same as the Rafale.
Why is nobody talking that the Mirage could do the very same that the Rafale did, and is at least 40 years OLDER than the Rafale?

The reality is, the F-35 (even though its big brother F-22 is) is not designed specifically for dog fighting. But for combined arms, air superiority missions. 1 they have reflector pads. They make the aircraft visible to radar

All tests and comparisons or almost all give the Rafale as the winner
There is a couple factors here. 1) how good were both pilots? If one pilot was better than the other that is a big factor. 2). If the F22 got into ten battles with the Rafale what would the score be? If the score was close the US would have to reevaluate things. But Id be willing to bet the score would be lopsided in favor of the Raptor.
He goes through all of this in the video. The F-22 won most of it's dog fights apart from two, and he states that the French pilot was clearly the better pilot and pushed his aircraft to it's limit whilst pulling 9Gs. Gotta watch the vid my guy.
@@TheStubertos the video is so blurred that you can't see the ' g ' rate of the Rafale. While the footage might be interpreted as a training kill that means nothing as F16 has similar footage of its combat against Rafale, though F16 actually lost 1:3 in training. But if F16 fanboys ran around claiming " The world is shocked F16 beat Rafale" and that Rafale was a two seat version so should have better situational awareness, how would French patriots react? It realistically proves that not even the best aircraft are invincible but the truth is the days of close quarter dog fighting have gone and first choice is always
1. BVR Meteor AMRAAM etc
2. WVR using helmet queueing again typically 10 kilometers away ( IR missiles can make 60g manoeuvres )
If you ran out of missiles would you engage in a gun fight or simply return to base and rearm ?
So this proves it is theoretically possible to defeat F22 but realistically it is an occasional outcome for 4+ generation aircraft and only F35 has the tools to close the gap to a 50/50 outcome.
