      So then is poirier another tune up fight? Or will people will be saying that afterwords, if he wins? I like poirier, Rate him as top 5 BUT, he’s not champion level, he’s just slightly off, Doesn’t have that edge that it takes, I would say Ferguson has it, I would say geathje doesn’t as he gets his face rearranged most fights, although he did fight well against Ferguson, there’s never been than crazy stand out match up like Conor has had over the years or khabib or Ferguson, poirier reminds me of Alvarez, he’s a good all round fighter but that “special” thing that’s needed to be champ is just not there, he’s brave and tough and has crazy heart but he gets hit, Conor rarely gets hit. Even when he does if you watch closely he rolls almost everything. Can’t wait for the fight.....all we can hope for is fireworks, think that’s what we’ll get.

      @@orngdrnk Conor is known for going in hard early and Cowboy is known for taking a bit to warm up if you will and get into the groove. Conor puts thought into who he’s going up against that’s for sure. I’m not trying to take anything away from him if anything it’s a compliment

    • @urmomseffect
      @urmomseffect 4 роки тому

      I mean yea, in hindsight its a tune up fight. But, in any other scenario if you look at who was active and who wasn't its pretty obvious whos ganna win. Activity matters against most opponents. You just cant replicate the same intensity of a real match and the timing, rhythm, and intensity of a real bout isn't something you can replicate by sparring. Listen to Uncle Chael and don't discredit cowboy, but Conor some credit himself.

Go watch if you have time. After the fight they replay the good angle and you can clearly see it’s caused by Conors shoulders and massive collar bone slamming repeatedly into cowboys face. Cowboy didn’t even start to look terrible until after they were finished clenching up and he stood back to gather himself. I just don’t see it but maybe I don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about. I feel conor has better cardio then ever after going 9ish rounds with floyd, also he was training for a triathlon or something along those lines so his cardio will be better. Dustin’s boxing, footwork, fight iq, composure has all increased massively. Its a 45-55 fight for me I won’t be surprised if either guy wins, but im leaning to conor getting it done because i feel the fight will be on the feet the whole time and he has the advantage there.

    He really has a gift, and I dont think he is doing much with it. His clips are mostly so interesting, as he engages the audience and often it feels like he is directly speaking to each person watching. He could have his own show on ESPN and be very successful, extremely entertaining almost like Stephan A Smith but a lot more realistic, natural and unforced excitement which S.Smith often forces to create and he does it well even when its not really there.

    So even though Dustin has great Jiu-Jitsu, he's done all his best work these past few years on his feet using his striking. He can either try and out strike McGregor which would be a hell of a task to pull off, or he can try and bring it to the ground meaning he'd be going against what made him a top class lightweight. Either way I think this match up favors Conor.......

    Conor in 145 and vs Eddie i thought he moved differently than when he fought Cowboy, even though he didn't throw many punches, but the ones he threw didn't look Conor esk, makes me wonder if the muscle hes putting on is messing with his range of motion a bit, 145 he just looked fluent, so that for me will be the most interesting part of this fight, will the new body affect his movement, and cardio in later rounds, will it make him slower, mess with his timing vs i think the best striker at 155 besides himself. I get tingles thinking about this fight, because i see a straight war, fight of the year type fight!!

People don’t realize how hard khabib had to work when Conor literally walked out into the middle of the cage and said , “shoot bitch let’s see how long it takes for my back to touch the ground “. And to Conor’s credit it took about 3 mins of khabib absolutely giving it everything he had and still not being able to get Conor down until he got him to the fence of which he threw exactly one strike in the entire round . Conor is not only the highest level striker in the top 10 at lightweight he’s honestly probably the best defensive wrestler in the top ten at lightweight . People forget Eddie had no problem taking down chandler , Conor literally stuffed and countered every takedown Eddie attempted to the point where Eddie completely abandoned his game plan , n stopped even attempting to press Conor into the cage n dirty box in the clinch because Conor was eating him alive from the inside

War after war after war takes a real toll on your brain which takes away sharpness, speed, accuracy, etc. I truly he does derail the Conor hype train but I just don't see him getting it done.
