Making An Alice in Wonderland Dress

- I wanted this dress to be rather 1950's based, with a little bit of 1860's also. Because the apron I made was based on the Edwardian era, this way all of the different era's alluded to in Disney's 1951 Alice in Wonderland are represented. I hope you like it!

Music:
"After You're Gone" - Marion Harris (1918)
"Daisy Bell" - Gerald Adams (1930)
"Alice Blue Gown" - Edith Day (1920)
Serious Bernadette Banner vibes with a dash of Micarah Tewers (recycling bedsheets, classic move). Awesome job!
🥰
It looks so nice!
(I love that elvish look too, you've got great taste)
Thank you! 💕 I’m considering doing some elvish sewing videos in the future.
The Edwardian era is definitely my favourite historical fashion era, and its really nice to see the pieces you've made that are inspired by that time (kind of) :D
Thanks! The Edwardian era is one of my favourites too. This dress turned out to not have much Edwardian influence, but the apron definitely did.
your videos are the perfect thing to watch while waiting for the newest episode of the great british sewing bee! and i love your sewing machine, though i do everything by hand as machines confuse me lol
Thank you! 💕 The process of making this dress actually taught me that I prefer doing more by hand too. So much more precision. Longer seams are great to do with a machine, but after using my hands for so many years, my hand sewing skills are a lot better than my machine sewing skills.
Miranda Milner it’s a beautiful dress!!
Thank you!
Beautiful cosplay
Oh my lord! Underrated💕
Awe, thank you! 💕 💗
Wow that’s great!
A great video! I just wanted to ask how old are you? Just because, I am a teenager who's one of main Hobby's is historical fashion, I sew my own dresses and want to start a you tube channel 💗
Cool! I’m 17, but during this video I was 16.
I like girls to wear a Alice in the Wonderland dresses

Love how it turned out! Side note - your sewing machine is so pretty!! I'm going to be forced to find a hand turned machine soon hahaha.
Oh I know! I wasn’t planning on getting one on the day it happened. But I was browsing the antique store one day and I had some money saved up that I didn’t have plans for. I saw it and I was like “Yes, She shall be mine...”
I love your channel's aesthetics! You remind me of myself when I was younger
Awe, thank you! 💕
So beautiful! I want to make a Maid Marian dress soon (from the cartoon!)
Ooh, that’s a cool idea, I wouldn’t have thought of that! The Disney cartoon is most certainly the best Robin Hood.
@@MirandaMilner thanks!
That dress is so lovely I love Alice in Wonderland and like cross playing I Have a traditional Alice dress which I like wearing often its so comfortable dressing up Those buttons must be hard to do by yourself My dress having a zip is difficult I need my sister or mom to help me My sister loves doing my make up and putting a wig on me dressing as Alice
It is a bit difficult. I need someone to do the top buttons for me, but it’s certainly worth it! 💕

@@MirandaMilner No problem! I also LOVE alice in wonderland.
Omggg I love this so much!! This video has given me some ideas on how I will be making my own!
Thanks! This was one of my earliest videos, and I’m so glad it still proves useful for viewers! I think someday I might remake this dress now that my skills are improved. I’d perhaps try some more interesting decorations just for the heck of it!
@@MirandaMilner I think that a remake would be cool, and I would definitely watch it!!
What your dress are made of?
I'm glad your dress turned out great in the end. It's beautiful. Maybe you should make a petticoat to make it poofy like in the Disney movie. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was a huge inspiration for my online children's book series for I like the idea of a portal to another world, which is in most of my books. Also, you're a lovely young lady. I hope you don't mind me asking but what's your heritage?
I don’t mind at all! According to the Ancestry DNA test, I am almost 80% Celtic, meaning Irish, Scottish, English, Belgian and other areas on the Northwestern shores of Europe. Then about 17% Germanic which is mostly German obviously. Then supposedly a tiny pinch of Eastern European and Russian. Overall I’m very Celtic and there are some good family stories of our ancestors who were supposedly pirates.
