- We’re teaming up with BigJake901 for a brand-new UA-cam series giving fans a crash course of all the features in PC Building Simulator. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to up your game this is the place to do it.
Today he’s showing us how to overclock using AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ after the latest changes to heat management in patch 1.9.5.

I'm super excited to be a part of this new series!
I learned stuff.
Aye I love your channel
Aye jvn
I am a pretty experienced player on PCBS but for new ppl what they would need is need is Overclocking 102 where it goes more into depth with overclocking, binning, overclocking GPUs, voltage limitations on different CPUs and extra hints and tricks :)
I think that is an excellent idea!
He says you only need the OCCT
BUT KEEP IN MIND.
Even if it makes it through OCCT without any throttling, it can STILL CRASH when ruinning 3DMark.
So in reality, you actually do want to run 3DMark as well.
This game got me back to work on computers again. Love it!!!
There's nothing quite like building something and booting it for the first time.
Thanks for sharing the video. You did a good job of showing off the CPU overclocking basics. :) 4675 wasn't the max overclock, but it was a rough max overclock. You can play with combinations of Base Clock and Ratio, to get something that might be better (higher than 4675 which worked but less than 4700 which failed) ... something like 4690, just involves more work. Also, I have several awesome companion guides, in the Steam Guides area for the game. Enjoy!
ok
Thank you, finally I managed that 1800x to be stable at 4320.
Voltage to 1.65 did the trick.
For others that come here for the same assignment :
Base clock down to 96 MHz
Ratio x45.00
Voltage 1.65
Custom water-cooling as the customer requests.
Stable under infinite OCCT, CPU temp 79.89 C.
I'm glad that voltage was just in game, definitely not good for the real life chips lol
(In Freeplay mode) i connected as much radiators as possible on the RAIJINTEK ENYO (4x480mm + 360mm) and my max temp was 52℃ at 4700mhz
Thanks for the vid!
In real life, doesn't increasing
voltage also increase tempatures
Ok, I’ve had/played this game for a long time now but between this vid and jvn vid both of y’all mentioned binning. are you tellin me that after all this time of playing and overclocking in this game I’ve never noticed that? I didn’t realize, if that’s the case, that that detail was in it.
Yup silicon lottery is an actual thing in this game, so that's what makes OC'ing so tricky. One CPU could be great and can handle higher voltage like BigJake said, but then another one will basically die under the voltage.
@@JVNGaming ive done alot of ocing ingame and have had high scores but i just never really payed that much attention i guess. i really did learn something lol
Thank you very helpful
my fav youtuber for pc building sim on pc sim channel teaching me how to overclock and jvn in the comments
I can't figure out overclocking. My setup is identical, but i can't get higher than 4525 without throttling
I need to know how to do this too. The only solution I had so far is destroying their CPU and replacing it with my own.
my cpu discovered what warm cream is
nice 🤩
ive got a problem, i got my first overcloking mission but i cant overclock it very much, cus the 3D mark will crash it since the PSU has a very low max power consumption at 300, i ran OCCT with no overclock and the power consumption got to 280+ and i tried overclocking the CPU to the target at 3525 MHz, then testing it in OCCT just for it to say 298w.
Does increasing Ram or adding another stick improve CPU overclock?
There might be some performance left on the table. Try upping the base clock and lowering the multiplier to incrementally increase the clock. Hope this helps.
this game never ends?
i m such an idiot it was this simple i just can even right nowwwwwwwww
necesito obligatoriamente el OCCT?
The Ryzen 9 5950X can go up to 1.9V.
5950x will run at 2.1v
This is BS.. i have a custom water cooled cpu which throttles like crazy but i must reach 5500mhz for mission its a ryzen 9 5950x
