My favorite Fripp freak out ever… he moves between the beats like no other. Not looking to impress, but when he needs it, the arsenal is there. My favorite guitarist ever…
Absolutely phenominal. One of the reasons Fripp was rated the fifth best guitarist in the world at one point by Rolling Stone Magazine.. Reminded me of Holdsworth.
@@ТанжихоловМуродулло First, Metal/nu-metal/doom rock/whatever is by far the most popular guitar-based genre. Second, time. They're not listing Django Reinhardt either.
@@David-iv6je I mean, like, Fripp is definitely one of my favorite guitarists of all time, but I don't believe he was ever in top 5 lists by major publications like Rolling Stones considering how they hate prog

The consummate perfection of self. Originator of Frippertronics. Bought "Beat" in cassette at the PX when I was in Korea. Wore it slap out in a Sony walkman within a couple weeks. "Most ppl wouldn't recognize good music if it jumped up and bit them in the a**" ~ FZ
I love this track! Probably my favorite among KC's 80s wonderful music. Wait, what about Sleepless? Elephant talk? Thela hun gingit? Beat album is underrated for sure. Anyway, 2:24 I remember being puzzled 'huh? Who is playing the drum kit now (a looper? I thought :)?' Then 2:54 surprised to see it was Adrian! 3:13 Very cool!!! Probably Bill tuned two snare drums SAME so that Adrian's kit would sound same. Also loved the way he didn't go crazy with those wall of Simmons drum pads for like 20min! I think he always had the mind of composer as we saw in his BRUFORD and Earthworks albums. What a lovely footage! Thank you for posting this!
Yeah, so Bruford can do weird percussion stuff and not worry about the beat. I don't recall if he played drums live on any other track in the 80s. He did play drums in ProjeKct 2.
Not sure where I heard about it, but there are songs where Bruford used a foot-triggered drum machine to keep the bass-snare beat, leaving him free to do… *everything* else.
OH MY GOD HE'S MOVING
When Robert Fripp starts moving around in his seat, you KNOW it's serious stuff!

Mine too
Me too!
just insane, even 40 years later
The birth of all music. Mozart was a fan of King Crimson
So were Franz Liszt and Beethoven.
I CAN DIG IT!!! :) Probably the only gathering of musicians that sounded better live than Studio, regardless of the generation.
Last night Beat in Clearwater opened with this. Epic
Saw them last night in Red Bank NJ. Amazing show!

He is not even in top 50 now. Why is that?

Robert Fripp's picking is so economical. I mean he barely moves in general lol, but he moves his picking hand impressively little

concordo in merito a Beat. Meraviglio album, anche a me piace di brutto, di più di tanti altri celebrati dei KC
I’m glad KC has posted this legally so I can direct people to see the best guitar player ever here!
I wish they had done more songs with this configuration, especially live. Great groove and fire to it.
This never ceases to amaze me.
Fripp is going OFF.
Fripp at the end "OMG we need to stop now really I can't keep this up much longer we need to stop we need to stop AH."
This might be the best version ever...
My first live experience of the mighty Krim! Very Yellow!!
Espectacular, aquí Fripp y compañía se lucieron con su virtuosismo
How does Robert can get that sound, just how?
He's using the Roland GR-300 guitar synth. ua-cam.com/video/-N2tMSMIekc/v-deo.html
He's playing a Roland guitar synthesizer, so it's not a typical guitar+pickup+amp sound
Amazing! Never been into the synth guitar pedals until now...
Thanks guys!!
And studying and practicing eight hours a day!
@@Davidhead07 it's not a pedal, but an actual synth controlled by a guitar. probably the Roland GR-300
Yeahhhhhh
These guys were always better live than studio.
Fucking sick
When you get a chance, explain that?

Belew*. Adrian Belew.
Yeah, or Belew as he's better known. He played drums on his first solo album too (Lone Rhino).
@@gurgisjones1120 I love that album... When choosing sides for bands, Adrian Belew always gets picked first...
