      not really the fingerpeint scanners fail so damn easy, worse quality displays on 5 5 model for enormous price. A ridicolously long phones.
      The only thing that's does better is keeping the headphone jack and no punch hole.

    The Snapdragon 695 is actually one of the most popular CPU's in the mid range because it can do quite alot while using very little battery. My 10iii has the SD 690 chip, but it CAN do 4K....also a very good chip still and if you have Bluetooth headphones with a Qualcomm chip inside, you'll get adaptive X audio options on this phone, which is cool.
    There are other new budget phones from 2023 which just came out and still use the 695. I think game developers also optimize the games for these 690/695 chips because since 2020 when the 690 came out, many, many phone models used this chip, and still do. There are many millions of phones on the market with the 690/695 chips.
    My 10iii is very fast with the 690. I use Nova Launcher instead of the Sony launcher because I like to use custom icons etc and I NEVER have any stutters or slowness.

    Got it for 280€ in black week. The plan was to wait for the successor with an upgraded soc, but my old phone broke so I took the deal. Overall satisfied. Only gripes are ~1 second delay when going back or to home in some apps, and lackluster performance when multi-windowing (you see it in the animations). So I avoid that. Cam is alright, I prefer honest results with no oversharpening and unnatural hdr / brightening. I feel detail in low light varies a lot between different thirdparty photo apps. Just a bit sad that maximum shutter speed is only 1 or 1,5 seconds.

    Nice review. I just bought it last night for $280 and I'm anxiously waiting for it. This phone is nothing to shout about but it does tick most of my checkboxes: battery life, small-ish size, front-facing speakers and acceptable price point. For performance and camera aspects, I only need them to be acceptable.
    But the main pull factor for me is its small-ish size. If can run modern apps on my Samsung J1 mini prime, I would still use it today. And not to forget my loyal servant which I'm about to say goodbye to: the Samsung A71 prism crush silver. I've been seeing it everyday for 4 years, and yet it still amaze me to this day on how good it looks esp for the price point. Unfortunately, it's just too big.

    Snapdragon started off strong when it first came out. It's still strong, only problem is that there's about to be a 4th and 5 generation and then a new processor. So everyone is calling this one slow and saying 60hz is slow all because they are used to 90hz and up. Are there phones with a battery power over 5k? Can the screen handle the consistent Hz of 90+? Will this cause overheating, especially during photo and video usage of high resolutions... During long usage.
    Sometimes setting a limiter can make a device last longer. Novelty users are never satisfied.

    My biggest gripe was it use the same old 695g like the previous Mk IV where the competitions are upping into Snapdragon 6 gen 1 or even Snapdragon 7 series. Battery life is impressive but it probably due to its still running 60hz refresh rate.
    I was honestly got let down when Xperia 10 Mk V launch, I was hoping it'll be a somewhat worthy trade for my Xperia 1 Mk ii but sadly it's not quite there yet, I'm hoping the Mk VI this year will be great with the latest chipset, better refresh rate, 256gb internal storage as standard and hopefully the photo pro app (not the cinema pro or video pro, just the photo pro).

    • @YuukiHotaruu
      @YuukiHotaruu 4 місяці тому

      the most likely reason they stay at 695 are that 6gen1 only OC the 695 cpus up abit, and have better gpu pack into the SoC, which consume way more power, but really not much in day to day task that more heavy on the cpu usage.
      the snapdragon 7 gen 1 have a bigger SoC die footprint than the 6 series, they might need more time to re-engineering the motherboard to accommodate a bigger SoC than the 695 currently in it

    • @GjordDeLad05
      @GjordDeLad05 4 місяці тому

      @@YuukiHotaruu whatever the reason was, definitely not good enough. I was testing Sharp Sense 8 earlier last month and it was what I was hoping 10 Mk V should be. 6 gen 1 can handle graphic heavy games better than 695, 90hz refresh rate screen feels adequate, it support 4k video recording unlike 695 and of course headphone jack and SD card slot just like the Xperia.
      If the Xperia 10 Mk V priority truly was battery life then sure it excel at it, but then you're looking at the competition and it feels like 1 step forward 2 step backward....I just hope this year Sony will do better for their mid range phone.

    • @YuukiHotaruu
      @YuukiHotaruu 4 місяці тому

      @@GjordDeLad05 Sure it is, they add a new camera system, a whole new system for stereo speaker, and still blame the space inside ?
      To be honest, i do not think they really care about the 10 series, as how the 5 series goes, they could absolutely jam a series7 dragon, or even series8 dragon, or some dimen8000 inside the 10 series as 5 and 10 have almost same outside dimension value

    • @GjordDeLad05
      @GjordDeLad05 4 місяці тому

      @@YuukiHotaruu yeah, doesn't feel like Sony really taking their 10 series seriously last year. You know what ? What if android phone follow what Apple did for mid range phone like 2022 iPhone SE, take their 5 year old premium phone and give it the latest strongest chip for under $500.... Imagine 2019 Xperia 5 with 8 gen 3, dimensity 8xxx or even 7 gen 3, now as Xperia 10 Vi....just random idea but I'd definitely buy that 😁.
      Anyway I hope Sony put more effort for 10 series this year....also give more software updates to all their phones especially now Google and Samsung up their phones to 5+ years...other brands has to keep up right?

      I've had 16:10 phones almost all my life. And when I had the Xperia 5 mark 3 I fell in love with the aspect ratio. Because it's a bit thin and easy to hold especially for my arthritic hands. And I'm only on my late 40s.
      My issue with the ZenFone 10 is the selfie camera is on the left side. And software update a bit fuzzy and unclear. I've had a Pixel 6a in the past few weeks too and liked the size as well. But I was looking for a phone with Dolby Atmos or with some EQ or specific audio settings. I didn't get that on my 6a. But was impressed with the photos I must say. Trying to sell my Galaxy S23 to make money and buy either an Xperia 10v (or the 5 v) or a Pixel 8 which I'm trying to get my head around on what to choose really. It's giving me a headache. Regarding the issues. Setting animation speed to 0.5x takes off the lagging feels. I think Sony probably lost money on the 10iii because of Gorilla glass 6, high quality display and narrower bezels. So with the 10v the screen seems lesser quality, bigger bezels and plastic body.
