I love it how sometimes the pilots who were flying the actual aircraft we are watching chimes in here and plays it off like it's no big deal at all. I am here to tell you that you're wrong: it is a HUGE deal to we, the passengers, who trust and believe in each and every one of you to fly these incredibly complex machines with the beauty of a Rembrandt, and your nads (and ovaries respectively) are made of solid steel and I don't know how you even walk around!! Bravo, cheers and Godspeed to each one of you!
I love how all the planes seem to be floating stationary like a helicopter since there's no moving reference in the frame to show their actual speed until the terrain comes in view
Wow! Excellent piloting! I honestly feel more comfortable as a passenger in turbulence after seeing hours of your vids. I see how the pilots know their aircraft and are so skilled to keep it safe. Thank you for your vids!
I think to myself that commercial flight is statistically safer than walking and watching the skills in these landings truly amazes me how talented our pilots are.
Incredible video! These winds look worse than those at Düsseldorf. The smaller prop planes almost look as though they were catching downdrafts. Major respect to all those pilots!! Wow, Great Video👍👍
Before today, I'd never seen a Harrier prop jet. Yeow. And I wouldn't have any fingernails left if I was on the flights at 6:24 & 6:59. Props to the pilots. They have mad skills.
They don't have all this auto landing stuff and they do short routes meaning they do takeoffs and landings many times a day, so they home their craft from the bucket load of experience.
I just posted a big comment about this same thing. Those Dash-8's have Autopilots I'm sure, but I doubt they can do Autolanding. Plus the heavy jets get blown around also bc the theory of flight is the same for all planes big and small. But I guarantee those heavies are a lot more forgiving because of the tons of extra weight that should stabilize them more!! And yeah!! I bet my bottom dollar that the Prop pilots are the least paid bc they dont fly the big A350 or 777. Well those big ass planes have FMS capable of taking off, flying to the PAPI of the destination..and then landing it. The pilots have to slow it down, taxi, and stop it. I really think the pay should commensurate with the SKILLS the pilots have..not just the size of the aircraft. Christ, I'm waiting for one of these little fuckers to get blown to the ground by the wind and abuse they take during these storms.🛫
3.30 is the most skilled landing I can remember ever seeing. The way the pilot gets the nose down and commit early is absolutely gorgeous! And it also made the passengers bellies tickle!
Great video work! And these landings and takeoffs may be very wild and wacky, I’ll always respect the hard working pilots who get everyone up into the air and down on the ground again safely! Also how are you so lucky to live close enough to record such amazing videos of A380 takeoffs and Landings!?
Dec 28, 2017, my wife and I flew to Portland, Oregon. Had a layover in Minn. When we landed at Minn., our airplane darn near slid off the side of the runway because of ice and snow. I had the window seat and all I saw underneath was grass, no runway. Our takeoff out of there was scary as hell also. Landing in Portland, the crosswinds were so bad, the plane was all over the place. We finally touched down halfway down the runway and when we finally stopped, we turned around to go to the terminal. only problem was the end of the runway, we partly turned in the grass. We darned near ran off the end of the runway. The guy sitting next to my wife, his eyes were bigger than silver dollars. Quite a few people shit their pants on that landing. I thought we were going to die, not once, but twice that day. This is scary shit to watch.
Thanks for the story! Was that MPLS International then I'm guessing (only because "Minn", IMO Minnesota) We do have some very icy conditions here in MN during Late fall, Winter, and Early Spring. Glad all was well tho, we have a fairly good track record and outstanding ATC ! Also I'm guessing a Spirit of Delta flight ??
I found your channel over Thanksgiving weekend, and have been watching a lot of your videos. Doesn't this airport have runways that run in every direction due to the wind. I film the Area 51 jets, and they can only land in one direction at Area 51, and at the TTR. Great channel
Looks cool from outside but as a passenger those winds ain't no joke, remembered landing into LaGuardia in a 737,that plane slammed on to the rwy, stomach was dropping all over
It always amazes me how the pilot flying controls such a huge unwieldy plane down with such accuracy and dexterity against such a variable as a storm, wind sheer etc...really impressive!
I love how in so many shots, that without a point of reference, it’s hard to tell that the planes are actually moving forward through the air, so all the planes look like bad ufo model work just floating down to the ground
Everytime I watch these x-wind landing videos...my heart goes out to them crazy fuckers flying those Prop planes!! They're probably some of the lower paid pilots but they are landing those goddamn things!! The way them planes are getting blown in every direction, it's a wonder they allow those aircraft fly. Yeah the "heavies" get their share of being blown around..but the Prop planes, some call them "puddle jumpers", are getting blown all over hell and back and STILL have superior skill and nerves to do this!! I believe their pay ought to be in the same ball park as A-350 Captains!! Kudos and Mad Props to those guys/gals!!
Oh the doomed 380... they knew it would be a failure right from the start but they gave us some good years of seeing this big beluga grace our skies. Thank you airbus for that!
The A380 is not a failure... Flight changed in the recent years from hubs to direct flights. Technically the A380 is superior when compared with the 747
Rogan Josh Saw the giant landing and take off yesterday. It’s so damn big! It’s amazing how those Trent 900’s/ GP 7000’s can make up enough power to lift the machine.
R Diaz that’s one way to look at it , the other way to look at it is that it’s served its purpose, the A380 will probably never be surpassed , now that like you say the market is going towards smaller more efficient planes , just a pity that several hundred lives have been lost due to Boeing’s ignorance in try to keep up with Airbus in that respect with the Airmax , long live Airbus
Why are the adorable turboprop planes never used in the US... There's something so fantastic about watching those little ATRs but I've only ever been on them in the UK, all the small flights where I live are CRJs and ERJs.
Kits voice on approach " 50,40,30,10,20,60,10, 5 ,20,50,10,40, oh just land already Michael"

Without being too dramatic...stunningly superb camera work. I love watching crosswind landings and this is some of the best quality I've seen.
I love how all the planes seem to be floating stationary like a helicopter since there's no moving reference in the frame to show their actual speed until the terrain comes in view

I love all the flex. It really shows how this is built into the design of stress distribution. Nice video!
I love all that flexing too!
Man a big "Congratulations!" to the pilots, all deserve a 🏆 good video 😃
I think the passengers have already congratulated!
@@flugsnug haha lol
Respect to all of the pilots who have to fly in these conditions!!👍👍
I love watching Dash 8s land during windy conditions. Also a good flying experience. Cool video.
Flying a Dash8 in windy conditions is just for legends
Try a C172 in the same conditions
I think to myself that commercial flight is statistically safer than walking and watching the skills in these landings truly amazes me how talented our pilots are.
Those ATR pilots are definitely real pilots. I salute you! 👏🏻
There are no ATR's in this video bro
Passengers may not have had as much fun as I have watching this.
I like the way Flybe honks their horn to warn people they're about to land. Nice touch.
😆
The crabbing at 6:00 is quite impressive, especially with the engines near the ground on touch down.
Amazing work, please don’t stop what you do..... the Turkish 330 close up was amazing
thank you, and i'll keep on!
These planes are more stable than my last relationship. :)
😂🤣🤯
You know it's windy when the A380 starts crabbing
Amazing how strong landing gear has to be!
I ❤ how you keep in focus while zooming out as they land. Very consistant frame work and shots.👍

Thanks, and yes there was strong turbulence at work
Awesome job by the pilots! Great video!
Quite some piloting skills demonstrated here
Love your work keep them coming
Thank you. Keep the wind blowing...

Felt the same way... Frozen in the time forever. It took forever to touch down
i dont know what it is, but i always seems to be the dash 8 pilots that impress me the most
They don't have all this auto landing stuff and they do short routes meaning they do takeoffs and landings many times a day, so they home their craft from the bucket load of experience.
Another thing is that I feel like it will be another one of these BS cases where they will be payed the least compared to medium/long haul

7:30 nice reflections of the runway on the bottom of the plane
