Why is anyone cutting down a 600 year old tree. It should be criminal.
Considering the internal structure of the log, i’d say the only reason is because someone wants to build where it stands. Nothing else. There was no indication of rot, even though most trees this size have core hollowing. So this is an especially tragic event. I make a living cutting down trees and often times refuse to remove healthy trees, this is definitely one i would have told the potential client to find another man for.

It's just a crying shame to cut down a historical tree that was growing before the USA even existed. You could have actually touched this tree, closed your eyes and let it take you back to a time in the past. This tree should have been protected like the giant Redwoods are Government protectected. Why was this tree cut down? Disease?

@@headsupfiction8582 It doesn’t. Usually trees that reach that age are about at the end of their life and become dangerous. It’s hard to tell from the video but that looked like it had some issues.
Maybe that tree will fall on you how dare you cut down such a beautiful tree and why for what so you can take a picture of it and you can show everybody that you cut down a great big tree? That's why our environment is disappearing
