- Last time out, we looked at the newly discovered cheats on Gran Turismo 4, and to date, the video has nearly had 70,000 views and you guys have also been very busy in the comments section.
So in this follow up video, I'm going to be answering some of the most popular questions and providing you with more information on these cheats.

These cheats would have changed my life back then. I enjoyed the hard work but some cars were unobtainable
Same here. The 24 hour races I couldn't do since I never had the time to do the whole race and I didn't want to keep my ps2 on for long periods of time. So I'm super thankful these codes were eventually discovered.
I’d still have my original copy of GT4, if I had the cheats back in 2009…
Back then to complete the 24h races on B-Spec I needed 8 hours at least using the speed up x3. So these cheats were clearly useful for that.
Another event that comes to mind is the Speedster Trophy

Seeing how they work in TT and that there's no limit at how many times you can use these on GT4, I'm really feeling like all these cheat codes are just debug ones that they never bothered to remove hehehe
It's quite neat that people were able to find them so many years later.
When you really get right down to it, Gran Turismo itself started out as a debug mode inside of Moto Toon GP. So it isn't much of a stretch to assume the same here with these debug codes.

@@Jesus_PK you should look into the history of Gran Turismo, and Kaz's development of Moto Toon GP, and how they built the sim engine into the game, in order to prove the proof of concept to Sony to let them develop Gran Turismo. There are actually a few GT assets in MTGP, and a few MTGP left over assets in GT1. There are a few channels on UA-cam that have covered it, and show the data mined assets.

Bought another PS2 and grabbed another copy of GT4 just to do this. Now I can have even more fun with stuff I never bothered to unlock. I can finally get a Formula GT from the 24hr race straight away. lol.
What's cool about that is you can now get every FGT car to collect since there's many colors
Tourest Trophy is an underrated game in my opinion. A really fun game.

The bike challenges are half the fun, and most of the frustration.
And the soundtrack is fantastic too.

This was actually my first time playing it ever, for this video. I ended up really enjoying it, once I'd got the hang of it.
It is also possible to use the license test cheat on multiple tests all at once. You can input the cheat on more than one test in the selection screen, and then enter and exit one of the events used and it will make all the events selected gold. I don't know if it works on race events as this is the only one i have tried so far.

The tourist trophy cheats are really useful since the license tests like to not work when emulated. No more having to download save files.

most in game cheats were more meant to be developer tools but it depends on the developer whether to release them or not, in case of GT4, they never did, which we have to discover ourselves up untiL this point.
I love that we are still finding hidden gems like this, in a game that has been so heavily observed.
The gold license cheat is hands down the best, no more doing Nords while following that pace car...

I used to have a disc from Action Replay which had the ultimate cheats for Gran Turismo 4 the main ones I used were unlimited credits, disable A.I. and the ultra slow timer to gold the licenses and I got my Dad to print out a sheet which had the code to make all the races one lap which was quite handy especially during the endurance races

I also remember the Big Wheels and Turbo cheats
Ah those were the times. Back when I had a PS1 and no home computer, I'd ask my Dad to print out cheats at work and bring them home for me.

Hey Matt, have you researched the elusive Gran Turismo Subaru Driving Simulator Disc (PCPX-96634)? It's the last updated build of GT3 engine, made in May 2003 and possibly contains a lot of tracks/cars previously not in GT3/concept builds. Subaru commissioned it to use in triple screen simulator rigs, yes it's GT3 running on multi monitor! There are modders trying to get access to it, to port all the unseen/new content into GT3. Same with Lupo Cup Ver 1 & 2 builds, if dumped we could see Fuji and Tsukuba in GT3.
24hr races completed in 10 seconds, licences all gold and a car shopping spree that would make Jay Leno blush, these cheats have been a revelation.
Tip: You can exit race start screen with triangle button, no need to scroll down to the right end and confirm the exit 😎

Tourist Trophy is a great game too. It’s license tests are actually easier than any Gran Turismo game to get all golds.

Finally after 20 years i am able to find all those cheats in GT4.
I tested the “gold events” chest with multiples last night, and it’s funny getting several prize cars from a single race. It’s a easy way to “remove” races you don’t want to compete in (like the snow rally events for me)
Now, having a set of cheats like this in GT4 really opens up possibilities. For instance, if I were to make a complete car list with all the details needed, it would take 1000's of hours of playtime just to get the cars, and enough money for all the necessary upgrades. Considering the auto-save feature.
Unlike GT1, GT2 and GT3, you cannot load to get back your credits after testing one car.
it's bullshit that they don't even let you fully turn auto-save off in GT4. they only give you "On" and "Limited" which still auto-saves whenever you buy or sell a car. it's dumb.

@@BeAGoodDoga i can see what you mean, but autosave can also severely fuck you up if you tuned your car up poorly. without autosave, as long as you didn't manually save after the bad tuneup, you can reset and try again. autosave RUINS the whole trial and error aspect.

Guys, I tested these on the PAL version and you don't need to enter an event and exit it to have it completed; just exit and enter GT Mode.

Does the event win cheat in TT work with the bike specific event to win that bike that have challenges like the 1v1 races?
Good look. Yeah repeating them is fine. You can't convert an already started licence I came across that with my incomplete Special Licence so only individual would work there not the whole unless it is untouched. For cars though yeah that's very powerful after 365 days early. XD Thing is though that auto saving system in GT4 as saving changes can happen when you do a specific thing to forward progress even with autosave off which I found an odd detail so I made sure to avoid that as didn't want the cheats to stay on my save.
The race one seemed to work fine I did this with all the 24 hr ones. Interesting for championships or single race huh. Race entry screen yeah but skip upgrades technically.
No idea for Tourist Trophy though. I assumed cheats for GT4 may be region limited but I assume US and EU codes may be the same no idea for Japanese, Chinese or Korean versions. I used my physical AU copies of both GT4 and Tourist Trophy so my guess is that the Tourist Trophy games have different cheats. I tried the cheats and no luck. Engine and UI yes but I couldn't get mine to work at least.
Credits made sense but I couldn't get the licensed individual one to work I already had the licenses touched so couldn't do the complete all. I tried on my bronze tests and nothing. Or the race event ones.
Thing is how many days do you need in Tourist Trophy because the game is so much shorter then GT4 and the day isn't easy to find as GT4 is with it always present? Let alone other GT games always having days listed Tourist Trophy you just have to go in and out a bunch of times maybe? Just count yourself? Or is the day thing not needed and just a free new save works fine I just had certain conditions that couldn't be met or I didn't try on blank races or blank licenses maybe that's why you can't alter existing likely which could be the case.
Out of curiosity, while I know it's a different engine, is there any indication that these cheats work in GT PSP? I know people were asking about GT3, but I wanted to know about PSP too...
For gold in the licence tests you don't have to enter every test after performing the cheat. Just highlight the test, type in the cheat, highlight the next ,type in the cheat, and so on. Simply enter the last test, leave it and every test you chose to cheat will have the gold trophy.
I love Tourist Trophy. I'm curious if any cheats exist for the bike challenges, because, HOT DAMN there's one challenge I've yet to even come close to completing. I'm pretty sure you all know which bloody one...
I wish too. For me it's always the Valencia 1.44 bike challenges I suck at them and there are quite a few to do. If I could cheat those then I'd be good.
I just wish we didn’t have to wait 365 days, especially as there’s no visible calendar on TT…

A good idea is to play through the game properly first then once you finish, say the Formula Gran Turismo championship or wherever point you decide the "career" is finished, you then use the cheats to just mess around

2) Activate the cheats then go nuts

I found out that if you use the cheat to complete any event, the diary says that you finished it in exactly 0'10.000 no matter what race (this also applies to licence tests)
Yep. And it never displays the licence test name properly either. For example: Licence test _e seems to be a common name…😂😂😂😂

You *DON'T* have to enter every license tests for single gold license cheat. You can just input the cheat on every tests and enter any random test. After you spawned at the test track, return to the license test page and boom! Gold on every test!
For the prize cars, simply return to home screen, wait for the autosave, and enter the license tests again. The prize cars should be waiting for you. If this didn't work, reset the PS2/close the PCSX2 AFTER the autosave finished.
This trick works on the races too. You just input the cheat to every race and just enter one of the races then quit the race.
Some guys who failed in this game will use the codes to show their sons his achievements. "Look dear, how your dad rocked in this game when I was your age..

I never found cheats when playing this when I was younger.
I have three complications where I can't take advantage of these
1. my optical consoles are all literally seized up.
2. BOTH copies of my GT4 are damaged due to use
3. the 365 in-game days requirement precludes using it on tourist trophy...I can't stop crashing :P

Yes! I’m still stuck on that stupid MX-5 enduro on GT3, where the A.I. 1.8 RS always cheats, and you can’t tune your car up to catch it!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Can you do a video regarding all of GT7's cheats.
Cheats aren't in many modern games especially one with internet access (game must be played as intended and with same across the board design these days can't have things that are off in online games according to Devs). Online killed cheats as well as Devs not being able to add them in modern gen games even without internet as they leave them for Devs to access or remove them from entail builds so they don't offer them to players anymore.
So yeah GT7 has no cheats because online gaming ruined cheating and Devs won't anymore.
I mean they have the server to block save editing and to have control over the game more than players would like (it's why I don't like GT Sport and 7 well besides the campaign in 7 but still) to actually annoy players to play as intended on stricter rules. You want to access later game stuff offline you can't, you have to have played online enough first to access it offline because progress doesn't happen in offline, you can't save offline. You can't win a trophy in offline because you can't save to keep it.
So why would they offer cheats it would defeat the goal of the game to control the game so we can't do much with it then what they want us to be able to do.
I mean even the runs people did on events early on got patched I think they don't want us to be able to do that.
GTA games or Minecraft commands may be an exception but they are rare cases of cheats being possible (well in Minecraft it's usually for admin purposes but in singleplayer and with cheats you can use commands for whatever you want then whatever the server owner's rules in multiplayer you can't but in singleplayer you are the owner so you can use cheats).

Can you bind a cheat code to a single button? So that it does the whole sequence for you on a buttons press?
Maybe but not without someone modifying the cheat codes to only work with 1 button likely. Never tried but it could be possible.

I tried the "old ones" on a dedicated saving, it does not unlock you anything but the gold plate. No %, no prize cars. 😮 Maybe I'm missing something?

Ive been testing these cheats on Tourist Trophy myself and they don't seem to be working on my PAL version. Tried multiple times, even on a fresh game save and still nothing
I tried the gold any event cheat but the results were silver on the NTSC-J version (SCPS 17001) and also for the gold any license cheat only test 2-15

Me too, I used to use b-spec mode due to the time multiplier, but that reduces the realtime to a bit over 1/3 length due to the game going back to 1x speed for pit stops and then having to go back to 3x speed afterward

24 hours endurance is really Polyphony Digital was being a devil to race and complete the race by a day, thanks to cheat and will finish without hassle 😂

Can you get the prize cars from the license test cheats?
If you do the licenses as a whole cheat maybe (not half completed like I tried with my special licence it has to be an empty unattempted licensed not a single test) and probably safer with the individual tests to complete cheat (doing that 16 times). It is possible he does show the licensed test reward cars in the video. I didn't recognise all of them but seeing the Lupo and others seemed like it, just the Gold rewards I didn't recognise.

GT5 has the Hidden Menu from GT5 Prologue, but this time, they removed the cheat code from the previous game, so there's no way to access the menu legitimately.

@@Szataniarz I don’t know. I guess they forgot to add one for it. Regardless, I didn’t wanna waste time “passing 365 days” just to use the cheats, so I gave up and went back to GT4.
