- There is no other racing game/series with a bigger variety of cars to drive than Gran Turismo. Over more than 20 years we have seen everything from the 1hp Mercedes-Benz Patent Motorwagen to the futuristic 2500hp SRT TOMAHAWK VGT. Here´s a compilation of the 50 most exotic cars ever seen in the series. Featuring Gran Turismo icons like the Renault Espace F1, Suzuki Escudo and the Red Bull X2010, but also cars you wouldn't expect in any racing game like the Ford Modell T a Daihatsu Midget or the Lunar Rover.
This was a lot of effort to capture and edit so please share the video if you liked it and give it a thumps up and a comment.
All footage recorded from original PS2, PS3 and PS4 hardware (no emulators etc.) with regular copies of GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4, GT5, GT6 and GT Sport. Recorded with Elgato HD60.

The Cadillac Cien got me through SO MANY races in GT4. One of the most versatile cars in the game
Same with the chaparral 2j you can actually use it for the compact race in professional hall which is hilarious because they all have little hatch backs and you turn up in a 1000bph race car from the 70s 😂

Same here, when i got the Caddy Cien as a reward, a 10yold me didnt care too much, but then i started using it and jesus christ that car was the first thing i ever loved outside my family.

Well, GT90 was concepted as a gran turismo, GT40 is born for the races. Actually, a racing GT90 would have been infinetely less exotic, because it would had to renounce at turbos. Like Vector MC12: on street had two turbos, for racing would have been, because I'm not sure it really raced, simply a racing tuned Diablo

That signature GT tire screech. Louder than a nuclear explosion.
All I remember of GT5 is the constant tire screeching, no matter how fast you were taking the turn. Felt like a rally driver on all circuits.
I can’t believe they used that same PS1 sound effect all the way up to GT6. Really got their money’s worth out of it.

Man Gran Turismo 4 still looks gooood the PS2 in its later years was really a jump from the PS1...
The console was ahead of the Video grafics. I Loved GT4. It was so realistic

LOL I hate it to be honest: yeah the graphic looks clean BUT WHERE IS THE SENSE OF SPEED?? You are going at 300km/h and it looks as flat as a 50km/h trip on a Fiat Punto... the GT4 sequences in this video are all incredibly boring to watch (not mentioning the ones with the slow cars, those clips look like literal slowmotion...)

I remember playing Gran Turismo 4 and being blown away by the graphics. I never thought a game could look more real. With gran turismo sport and now GT7 on the horizon, Damn was I wrong!

Why didn't they put some of them in GT5/ GT6 rather than 55 versions of GTR R34? The Skyline Silhouette and the Venturi would have been pure gold.
GT has some fetish for The GTR and Japanese Cars in General
For example all the GTR in GT4, where basically are all the same cars but with different year (Like GTR R33 '96 and GTR R33 '97) and with some special editions (We have: N1, V-Spec N1, N1 again, LM limited, Midnight Purple ed., Etc.)

The way the light filters through the trees at Trial Mountain in GT3 still makes me feel a special kind of way.

It's because of camera settings and motion blur, GTS does have a neat sense of speed if done right
The only noises you would hear on the moon mission should be from inside your space suit. It mainly would be listening to yourself breathing and grunting and perhaps the hum of the climate control systems built into your spacesuit or your communications system. Any vibrations (sound is vibrations) made by the lander would be transmitted to your suit only by touch and it would be your suit that would vibrate and make noise. Basically the whole moon mission would sound like a stalker calling you on the phone making heavy breathing noises and grunts that would change in intensity when you made a jump or something.

The Panoz Esperante was such a tough car to race against on the PSP. It would always catch up whenever you get far away. And the Mazda Furai is my favorite, man I love that car

The Furai is underrated as hell. Sure, it burst into flames (just like every other Wankel engine) but when it worked it ran like absolute hell. Beast of a vehicle.

gt7 needs to be a combination of: catalogue and circuits of GT6 + Graphics and Online of GT Sport
Whilst many of the cars were new to me as a GT fanboy, I remembered many of the tracks... including the moon! Thanks for sharing.
I still remember tuning up the Suzuki Escudo to 1000HP and reaching ridiculous speeds xDD

Was utterly broken in GT2. Best car on the road or dirt. It just did everything so well. Great acceleration, great top speed, great handling and traction. It was untouchable. The TVR Speed 12 probably got the closest over-all but you really had to tune it to become driveable while you could just by the Escudo and just dominate races. The drag cars challenged it on a straight line but that's all they could do. Was still really good in GT3 but it kind of fell off in GT4 since it understeered a bit so it couldn't keep up with the LMP cars.

Gran turismo as a series has never failed to disappoint the audio.
i hope the feel of speed that we had on gt2-3 comes back....gt sport feels so monoton...gt7 have to do it better...without it would be very sad...it have to make fun again when racing
Totally agree. The sense of speed in Gran Turismo 2, 3 and 4 is way better than in the later Gran Turismo games. To me personally, it really is a huge deal, like going 250km/h really felt like 250km/h in Gran Turismo 2, 3 and 4, especially in Gran Turismo 4 with the wind noise, oh man, so good. Whereas in newer Gran Turismo games going fast seems very slow in comparison, and once you break 250-300km/h mark, it just looks sped up, it doesn't even look natural. Just plain horrible.
Totally agree. They also removed some other cars in Gran Turismo Sport which can have a possibility to come back in GT7.

It’s a 3 Speed GM automatic. It was the only transmission at the time that could handle the power it was making without spending a fortune.
It was like a drawn out motorhome transmission. 😆 A claimed 0-60 in 3.5 seconds though with I believe a top speed of 240+. I loved it, but in the game handling was not great.

im still playing gt4. now i struggling (again) the 24h a spec and f1 races, they really hard and wasting many time
You don’t have to do the whole race at once of course, you can just pause the game overnight and continue the next day. Other than that, make sure you use racing super-hard tyres and stretch out the time between pit stops as much as possible, figure out how far a full tank of fuel lasts.
What car are you using?
You should play 12hrs a day, then the other day you’ll do another 12hrs. That’s exactly what I did.

I know a lot wont (especially the Furai after what happened to the real thing) but id love to see all of these come back at some point in GT7. Like weve already got the Escudo and the Silouhette Skyline back. Maybe we can get some others back too!
Aaaw Tank Car and Schwimmwagen brought me so much memories. I remember I have tuned my Schwimmwagen in GT6 and it was going over 230 kph :D a lot of potential for a sleeper and very exotic !

I don't even know what to highlight the most from this video. Some of the tracks were just as iconic as some of these cars. I do think the Glen Seaton Tickford supercar should have been in the mix. Got to love that F1 Renault people mover haha.
#44 is the Dodge Copperhead. AND I'm surprised the Tommykaira ZZIII isn't in here! It's so rare that it isn't mentioned anywhere that I have ever seen aside from GT2. Never seen or heard of a real life concept or anything.
