That is the best hunting vid I've ever seen on Ytube. I can fully understand your desire to finish it with the bow, but that animal equates to subsistence for you and your family, unlike myself here in NJ where the supermarket is just around the corner. You give new meaning to the word perseverance. Congrats.
Awesome video I love the never quit attitude hard work always pays off, even though you finished him off with the rifle I still count that as a longbow kill. keep at it would love to see more video of your longbow hunting and maybe next time you can get Mr. Clay Hayes on another up close encounter. remember Aim Small Miss Small and happy hunting.
I'm so glad you took the time to find that bull. That's a true sign of character right there and much respect to your parents for raising a man who didn't quit!
The best part of the video was having your kids be part of the process. I never got to hunt with my dad, but took my boys as soon as they could safely go. The memories of the time we spent together is and will be best part of the hunt. Enjoy your time with them as they grow way too fast.
Your the man Chevie , most guys would’ve given up and that bull would’ve fed the wolves and grizzlies . Now because of you and your cousin , he’s feeding your families . Great job , be proud
@@Chevieroach907 I bet it was . I just got back from 26 days after moose , stone sheep and caribou and we had a grizz attack our camp, steal a moose head and rack as well as a front quarter . Never a dull minute in nature is it ? I love your respect and passion for the wilderness , we’re cut from the same cloth my friend, my cloth just has many years on your cloth !! Lol
Congratulations Chevie! Sometimes things don’t work out the way we want them to. When they don’t, perseverance and grit are what’s needed and you showed plenty of that! I appreciate the reverence you showed for that animal…
I don’t know too many people who would spend that much time looking for an animal after wounding it. That’s an amazing head on them shoulders, and heart in that chest my man. You did yourself and your family proud.
Hi Chevie. Clay recommended your channel...subscribed. Geeez that moose was a tough,to go that distance wounded. Like cousin said,5 inches lower,he wouldn't went to far. Its a good thing you found him, before the browns...now you have enough meat for awhile. Great job Brother.Keep up the great content 👊
I have never hunted Moose even though I would love to I have bow hunted since I was 17 and I'm 51 and I can say I have nothing but respect for you brother and the effort you put in to get that animal most guys would have gave up on day one so congrats on the moose love the videos keep you and your family safe God bless
That’s flippin’ hard luck buddy. Well done on the blood trailing, and well done on going over what happened and your right to consider all the positives. Then your persistance in putting him down is commendable, like you say a little dissapointing not to finish him off with an arrow but you did the right thing. Great video to watch thank you.
Amazing beautiful landscapes wow. Absolutely glorious. When I'm out in big fantastic spaces like that, I always marvel. And then pretty soon, start trying to imagine - how in the world did the First Nations people make survival here in North America, with tents, bows and arrows. That kind of strength, boggles the mind. This video does give some idea into it. Good to see you followed through an ethical course, and landed a success for your family. Thanks.
Cherie what a great video, great hunt. You did the right thing with the 309 wind mag. You’re going to do really good with videos. You have the it factor. Ty
Bringing a good word for the "Hunter". Go above and beyond to find a kill. I can remember many 12-24 hour searches for deer. I think there was only 1 that ever got away, and we still talk about that deer with respect. If you are human, then you can feel for them in these times.
Chevie when you can float them out instead of carry them out its a blessing for sure. Sure glad you stayed persistent on that bull and never gave up hope. He was definitely sick for sure bow is a game of inches for sure. 5” lower he would have died in 2 hours or less… funny that bear didn’t smell the blood obviously never crossed his trail.. then the water saved him as he was a ways away..
7:46 Dude. Like, I know how effective a quality Firearm can be with training. And I know that 200 meters and 400 meters are reasonably in range for a quality Firearm, with training. I know you have fed the family, and neighbours, the community, for years. But that shot. With a humble bow in your hand. That is just so in tune with our ancestry, heritage, history. Its just not the same? Is it? There is just something special, about a bow.
I was going to ask you if you carry a gun and I seen your gun barrel then you said Alaskan first I like that. Great job man scary too. That has got to be scary
I watch alot of moose hunt videos and I loved this two part series. Great work!!

@@Chevieroach907That’s crazy! Respect for finishing the hunt. The ability to track and understand animal behaviour after the shot is so important!
I just found your channel. Digging it, not overproduced, not stripped down to glory trophy animals... just out in the woods hunting with a dude.

Hell of a hunt!!
Hi Chevie, nice Video, why did you not take a dog to find the blood trail? Would be fast and easy
My dogs not trained for that. He would run all over chasing barking and disturbing sign 😅
Any idea how many pounds of meat you got from him?
Close to 800 lbs.
I would have had to change my undies after that!!!!
Like your channel but. Can’t take the foul language. So I won’t like and subscribe.😢
